  1. Today, Mario went for his-Birth Certificate: (legalized long/inextensa version):

They told him they no longer do the long version.

Has anyone else been told this?

He is in Barahona, Dominican Republic.

    Thanks in advance.

came across your concern..well i just returned from Santiago Mar. 25..the reason i went was to see my husband and to go with him to the licensure office to obtain a Inextensa birthcertificate...i was notified by NVC that the regular birthcertificate was not what was needed.. so i returned and gave it to my lawyer so he can send the copy with the coverletter that has a particular barcode that they will continue the process...I was told by the Rep. at Nvc that it does not start allover processing...It continues where it stopped to rec the long verson...I hope this helps.

  2. My husband and I are looking at getting an immigration attorney to help us along with our CR-1 visa. I found Taylor & Associates Law P.C.

    https://www.usavisanow.com/spouse-visa-cr1-ir1/immediate-relative-ir-1-cr-1-attorney-services/

I am carious to see if any of you have experience dealing with them or have any other recommendations.

    Thank you MT.R

I HAVE AN ATTORNEY SINCE 2014 ATTENDING OUR CASE. IT TOOK AWHILE AND I WAS CONCERN THAT HE WAS SLOW, BUT THERE WAS ALOT TO CONCEDER I LOST MY JOB , ON UNEMPLOYMENT...LIKE TH OTHER PERSON SAID IT DEPENDS ON YOUR SITUATION. WE ARE AT THE DOOR OF HIS INTERVIEW WITH ALL DOCUMENTS AT THE NVC BUT THEY DECIDED THAT THEY NEEDED ANOTHER BIRTHCERTIFICATE OF THAT COUNTRY. SO I WAS ABLE TO GO VISIT MY HUSBAND AND BRING THE COPIED ITEM BACK AND CERTIFIED. REMBEMBER THEY HAD A B. C. SO THEY WAITED UNTILE THE LAST MOMENT....I APPRECIATE THAT NOW BECAUSE WE COULD BE AT THE CONSULATE AND EVERYTHING WOULD STOP...TIME IS PRECIOUS...JUST FYI THE IMMIGRATION HAD MANY CHANGES WITHIN THE YEAR AND THE ATTORNEYS ARE DOING MOST OF THE WORK THAT THE NVC WERE DOING AND CHANGE TO CONTRACT WORKERS LEARNING THEIR JOBS....WE'RE OK NOW HOPEFULLY IN 3O+DAYS HE WILL HAVE AN INTERVIEW DATE AS SOON AS THE DOCUMENT IS SENT BY MY ATTORNEY...THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE PROCESSING RESTARED. IT WILL P/U WHERE IT IS AND IS FINISHED ....HOPEFULLY THIS IS HELPFUL....I CAN GET LONG WINDED. ON YOUR OWN RESEARCH VISA JOURNEY AND GO INTO TOPICS OF THE CONSULANTS AND THE IMMIGRATION RULINGS THAT CHANGE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION....I HAVE LEARNED ALOT SO WHEN I TALK WITH MY ATTORNEY HE IS IMPRESS THAT I AM KNOWLEDGE AND I ASK MANY QUESTIONS....GOOD LUCK

  3. hello to everyone! i have a question? i have been married to my husband in the Dominigan Rep. since 2013 and i have visited since 2011 . i lost my job in 2013 and was not able to return after June 28th 2013. all the emails pictures prior to being married and before and marriage pictures. and mega telephone calls. He was worried that the consulante would make it difficult for us since i was not able to go there.....but there is not a day that we do not talk or emai.....encouraging each other to be patient and de-stressed....in my nursing profession something happened in the medical field and i was not able to obtain and then on unemployment twice ...good news i have been working since 2014 until now two jobs.....and if you know what i know it takes money for immigration and lawyer fees.. an supporting him with medical issues....my lawyer has been wonderful and supportive...fees have been paid and NVC is processing our documents....EVERYTHING!!!! WE ARE NOW IN THE WAIT STAGE.....YEA....i JUST NEED TO VENT AND SHARE. FAMILY AND FRIENDS DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I know the vj family would understand....Question???? on the average how long will NVC proces????? electronic sent October 15, 2015. would love some feedback and encouragement.. thank You. :crying:

  4. I just got off the phone with USCIS and they told me that my taxes aren't even needed to AOS.... So now I feel like the person that told me that, doesn't know what she was even talking about. I will be filing AOS soon.

My husband is in the states tho .. Should I still file single and then adjust

is he your husband or fiancee K-1? have you married within the 90 days? he needs a soc security Number????? rule of thumb no friends, family in immigration business. talk to a immigration lawyer or tax consulant not affiliated as family friends.

    • I HAVE READ SO MANY CONFLICTING INFO FOR THE DOMINIGAN CONSULATE WITH FEES.. MY QUESTION IS DOES MY HUSAND HAVE TO PAY $160 TOPOPULAR BANCO AND $1O5. JUST FOR INTERVIEW...I KNOW HE WILL PA $165. FOR IMMIGRATION. AS WE SPEAP THE NVC HAS APPROVED US AND THE VISA APPLICATION FEE IS PAID AND PACKET WILL BE SENT IN ONE WEEK TO NEWHAPSHIRE... I GUESS WHAT IAM TRYING TO ESTABLISH IS TO MAKE SURE HE HAS ALL MONIES TO START ONCE HE REC'S HIS NITIFICATION TO START...THANKS FOR SOME PEACE OF MIND.

  5. :goofy: CONGRATS;.ENJOY YOUR TIME AND I WILL BE ALL EARS TO HEAR HOW THE INTERVIEW WAS HANDLED...MY HUSBAND IS DOMINIGAN AND IS IN THE D.R. HOPEFULLY OUR INTERVIEW WILL BE IN JUNE/JULY.OUR VISA PACKET IS BEING COMPLETED BY OUR ATTORNEY BEFORE SENDING TO nVC...SO I AM GETTING ANXIOUS........ :dancing::dancing:

  6. my case is being handled by a lawyer here in the us and we just heard from the Nvc of approval. so now i pay the fee and file for the visa application....it will be sent out the first week in May 2015 ...my question is once the Nvc receives the packet what is the processing time before being sent to the DR

  7. I AM NOT ON HERE MUCH BUT I ALWAYS CHECK FROM TIME TO TIME. THE INFOR I JUST READ ABOUT THE SPOUSE REC INFOR FOR THE PROCESS OF THE I-130.

I FILED IN APRIL 2014 REC THE APPROVE OF THE 1ST NOTIFICATION APRIL17TH. MY ATTORNEY HAS UPDATED THAT EVERYTHING WAS SENT IN AND WE ARE JUST WAITING FOR THE NEXT STEP.

USCIS TO SEND PETITION TO NVC. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 8TH ...WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING TO CONTINUE TO THE NEXT STEP. ITS BEEN 6MOS. IS THIS NORM>>

  8. I don't know where to start. so goes my situation. My husband and i have been married since June 28, 2013. In the Dominigan Republic. I had filed the I-130 in April and rec'd a noticed that it was rec'd the 17th, 2014.

It is now August 27th and no 2nd notice of approve.....My lawyer has not received anything either.

Lost my job three weeks ago and i have been employed for 5ys steady. looking for another job, and my close friend said not to worry she will help with the AOS.

To also add that we met in 2011 and i went to visit December, 2011. we decided in 2012 to file for K1 as fiancee, but it was not approved. So with waiting out the situation and learning the process of immigration has been very frustrating...so i have been back four times during our complete relationship and now married. Will the k1 have any bearing on the visa for him to be with me here.....there were no descrepancies on our paperwork that was re-checked over many times....The DR counsulant had to create a reason they were not sure they just denied us.Our lawyer stated that the counsulant felt that we did not know each other long enought$%^&*Really. i seen some couples had less time than us. NO Problem! I am venting, but i would appreciate any encouragment of patience. :crying:

  9. Hi  I am wondering was there a stipulation with the waiver????? and within the 10 years had you stayed in contact with the consulate???? Never had the problem, but these were the thoughts that flagged in my thoughts.

do not just take those persons word, i would ask to speak someone above them to get the jest of the situation. But remember the Consulants are very fickle. Good luck and i wish you the best with less stress on this situation.

  10. Hi Chris and congrats on your exciting relationship. I just want to say it will be a journey. if you are not using an attorney be sure to go USCIS.com for the documents to file first.

this is not going to happen asap, but it requires time, patience and alot of emotion...i am going thru my journey and it has taken 2yrs of traveling, translation of documents and money.....there will be times you will be soooo traumatic you will say Just one more mile to go. Because you love this person and you have connected emotionally.

    Good Luck!

  11. Igor's site said unappoved. but when i checked on the USCIS it says being reviewed. i can't update anything until i receive the NOA2 or approved. Kinda confusing...anyway i have an immigration lawyer and just talked to him one week ago and he said he's waiting on the notification so i can file the affidavite and some other documentation...i cannot imagine told that you are unapprove to have my husband with me....it causes an emotional mental block. What am I to do//

  12. I just came on-board and read your issue. eveyone is giving you some great advice. number (1) listen to what yur lawyer says and if you are concerned with immigration laws call the nearest office and make an appointment.. your daughter is american you are her Mom no separation....but be ware he, your husband, can change his mind about his rights!....Just in case he might file for total custody...just a thought....So make sure you are working to support yourself and child....stop worrying about raising her by yourself.....women have been doing this forever. if you have a job, car and daycare you will survive.....so stop being Weepy and take of your business.....cover your back and live your life....Keep one step ahead....be strong in his prescence and confident This is very important. God Bless.

  13. So, my husband and i are separated, hes a permanent resident here, he can live here legally is what im trying to say. We've been together since 2010, and got married in 2011, he came here a little under 8 months ago and we are separated now and he wants to move to another state.

Our relationship was legit, wasn't a fraudulent one. What do we have to do so hes not sent back to his country?

    we have the IR-1

sorry to read this misfortune, but you need to check with a lawyer so that you will not be responsible for whatever he does. Question: are you legally separated? you need to got to the nearest USCIS office if you cannot afford a lawyer, mucho expensive..you have already spent mucho dinero to get him here> telepone bills ....So why care if he's sent back. that is not your problem..but you need to start thinking about yourself financially....you are respondible> 8mos are you serious??? you invested 4yrs of time and money. get over the pain and get busy...i am waiting for my husband and we have been talking since 2011 until now 2014. I love him and adore him, but i have a plan of action if this happens to me. ..i have told him i will NOT tolerate this behavior and i he has 3ys according to immigration to become permanent permanet SINCE i am responsible... then i had to lay some ground rules...we have two daughters to get here provided a home and guess what WORK.....Life can be great with the #$#%%#. i hope you will take control and not be threaten by him moving, its a game,,,,GO.....but protect yourself.

  14. Hey I drove around the new US Embassy/Consulate here in the DR, and I just found a hotel, a small hotel...so small that it is actually called...Micro Hotel Suites and Condo....seriously..no joke....(hahaha) I didn't see it before tho.

Anyway, it is located in the same avenue as the US Embassy/Consulate and it has been there for 7 years (according to them). Ave Republica de Colombia No.10, Altos de Arroyo Hondo. ph. 809-368-1100 microhotelcondosuites@hotmail.com and it is kinda close of the International Airport La Isabella. I would say it's like 300m from the Consulate. (I'm terrible with the distances), and it's around US$60 per night, includes breakfast.

I have to say, I have never been there, I saw some photos in a website, looks "ok"...can't say anything else about the service, rooms, etc.

So, at least something close to the new place?

this was good info. i am going to santo domingo in september for my husbands interview, at least i have narrowed down to august o september.

    thanks

  15. the longer you continue to beg for him to help you. forget it! take control for you and your child. take whatever papers and visa you have and go to the local immigration office.....keep going to the shelter for woman/child. mental abuse is just as wounding as physical abuse....as long buses are running or taxi you have transportation.walk if you have to....or stay in your situation....YOUR CHILD IS YOUR FIRST ORDER OF THE DAY TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR SAFETY AND SHELTER .....

  16. i hope this helps with the answer that i am sharing. i applied in March, 2014 and prior to applying ...i had to have our marriage license translated my privous divoice papers were also translated. because when you get to the consulant they will have all documents prior to interview. i did this when my husband was my fiance, it failed so months later we married in 2013 july and repeated the same process, but as spouse, 2014. i do not if this will help, but check the internet you can alot of information when filing for spouse.

  17. Hello everyone im pettitioning for my wife in Dominican republic, and two days ago i recieved my second checklist (sigh) my IV packet is ready and reviewed, just waiting on this checklist to be reviewed in order for NVC to give me my interview date...

Now my real question is now that i have a second checklist that i send and is currently being reviewed, around what date should i be recieving a interview date, and what date will the interview will probably be? Ive been waiting almost a year for this interview havent seen my wife since july of last year... and i dont want to go before i know a date because i dont want to be traveling then find out after i come back that i have to go back to D.R in ampther 2 weeks...

hi i was interested in your note of petioning for your wife and i also for my husband in the D.R. my lawyer sent my packet in feb 25th its now Mar 29th have not received the NOA1 yet. Have not seen my husband since June, 2013. i want to go visit but not knowing how soon the interview will be. I feel like i am in the same situation of the waiting game......hope you hear something soon..

  18. Hi first time commenting; like everyone is saying, you need representation to cya. I was thinking you will need documentation from family and friends of your whereabouts from the time you go to work and where you go other than your home or record......document the day she abandoned you. Get a copy of the police report of her complaint. don't worry about where she is , she is gone. But CYA........

be careful do not accept phones calls, do not talk to her and document or keep some type of record of phone calls. ...if she calls your job or show up, do not talk to her. communicate with your lawyer only. in my mind i am thinking that you can write some type of timeline from the time she came and left, what happened, like an affidavit. Hope this helps.
