  1. Eric-Pris,

Right. Some people might feel what's wrong with this lie, others might not.

It was not like he was cheating with me or anything like that.

So I cannot call him loser. But still breaking promise and didn't tell me the fact.

And unfortunately,I figured it out that he broke his words thanks to immigration officer's question.

I didn't want to discover my husband's lie in the middle of visa interview.

I was about to start arguments in front of IO,but I made myself calm down for ten min.And right after I got out of USCIS,I attacked him so bad. What a day...

  2. AT20000,

    Thank you for ur comment.

That revenge was funny!!Maybe I will give it a try sometime.

Yes I agree with u.All time, money and effort that we have done for it...

Even my husband told me not to waste all of them.

At least he is trying to protect my visa status.

Divorce is something we can do anytime. But it would be too late to regret if we divorced.

I would just try to reconcile for now and wait and see.

    Thank you for ur comment.

    You are absolutely right.

I might get just too upset with something in the past.It was not fatal lie like not telling me he was married or he had kids or anything like that.

Since I really believed him 100%,I completely lost my temper at the moment.

I will try to calm down w/o jumping into conclusion from my current anger.

    Thank you for ur advice!

  4. Hello everyone,

I have a question about cancellation of AOS.

As a matter of fact,I went to AOS interview with my husband a couple of days ago,and found out he had been lying to me for a while, when the immigration officer asked him one question.

Anyways, long story short,I was so upset and disappointed at his lie and made me feel he betrayed me for a long time.

Now I feel like divorcing or separating him.

I don't care about giving up on GC,but I cannot compromise my marriage.I wanted to make it genuine and real.

I am thinking about divorce and canceling AOS status and get back my original visa(F-1) back.

    What can I do?

I hope somebody has similar experience.

    Thanks

  5. Hello everyone,

I have a question about the documents I should bring at AOS interview to prove our bonafide marriage.

Now I just have lease with our names, insurance under my husband name, tax form including my name as his spouse(I am a student, so I haven't paid any tax so far. Therefore,it's not joint tax) and pics, emails and letters.

Do you guys think it's enough?

I have noticed everybody prepared joint bank account for interview.

Should we joint bank account?Or is it not necessary?

    Thank you for your help!!

  6. I know you are fed up with all problems with her and want to get over with.

But as long as you let her do and say whatever she wants, she will never stop taking an advantage of you.

She will claim USCIS that her conditional requirement should be waived due to your "violence".

If you help her immigration status, it would end up admitting that you are "violent" ex-husband.

Is it what you really want to do?

Why are you afraid of blackmail? Afraid of being sued by further domestic violence?

Why don't you blackmail her back about visa fraud thing? I'm sure it is her ultimate weakness.

As long as you keep acting like that, nothing would be changed.

Just stay strong and fight for it. Otherwise, you should not ask for any advice on this site.

  7. I had been on exactly same boat with you.

My I-130 was processed by Vermont and I-485 was processed by National Benefit Center(Mississippi) ,which is very far away from each other. I was worried if both documents were not separated each other.

I also got confused to see the processing time online because there are no info about I-485 in National Benefit Center.

But my case was eventually processed very quickly.

I assume they eventually send your I-485 package to your local USCIS office for interview, otherwise interviewer cannot check your documents. You don't need to worry about it.

Additionally, those info on USCIS website is not reliable about your status and processing time.

I think it's more up to your local office processing time.

    Good luck!!

  8. I had slight bit similar situation before.

After 10 months stay in US with F-1 visa,I had to enter US with VWP.I had no job as well.

And it was a few months before I had to apply for new F-1 visa.

Anyways,I was a little bit nervous when I entered US with VWP.

As long as you have no intention to overstay with VWP, you should just be confident no matter how your job situation is.

Just prepare your itinerary of your trip(that could persuade immigration officer that you have no intention to overstay) and return ticket receipt(You should ask airline to print it).

Just answer the question they ask.You don't need to give them too much information about your future plan as long as they don't ask. They just care about your present entry. Even immigration lawyers often say "Not giving information about what they didn't ask IS NOT LYING."

You gonna be fine.Just be confident!!

  9. I am sorry to hear your situation.I know that feeling.

Love is blind, and could drive us crazy.

I really want you to make it with him and get happy.

That's why I want you to do the right thing.

Unfortunatelly, VWP overstay after 90 days is considered as "illegal immigrant".

Everybody advised you to get married immediately, but VWP is not the right for marriage purpose. It's only limited to tourism and short term business trip.

My point is that marriage with VWP and apply for AOS itself is red flag as well as overstay.Even if your AOS is accepted, you'll have to go through so many issues at interviews.

Anyways, all I want to say is to go talk to immigration lawyer before you make a move.

Any small things you do/are going to do could be fatal mistakes. There are bunch of immigration lawyer that offers initial counseling for a few hundreds $.

    I wish your best!!
