  1. I echo hopes for MovinOn and Shell...

Val can you tell me when you got the welcome letter were there any other steps to take or you just wait for the card? Our status online this morning changed to Welcome Letter sent but then also said it could take up to 2 months to get card because of ADIT processing. Since we had the EAD/AP card I am figuring that is not relevant?

The welcome letter only welcomed me to the United states (kind of funny after having lived here for over a year) and informed me that I will receive my GC within the next 3 weeks. No other info really.

I received an status update this morning saying card was sent.

  2. good morning everyone!

First of all: congratulations to everyone who got approved in the past couple of days!

MovinOn and Shell I really hope to see your approvals this week:)

About my case: got approved on 04/08 and received my welcome letter on 04/13 still waiting on the status update that the card was mailed and the tracking number for my GC.

Let's hope USCIS is very productive today and for the rest of the week /month / year.

  3. I have also managed to open checking accounts, savings accounts and several credit cards since being here too and have built up my credit score to 'Very Good'. Each day a few pre-approved credit card offers drop into the mailbox. I wish my geeencard was pre-approved and I wish it would drop into the mailbox.

I was able to open a checkings &savings account as well as credit card and I was able to get my SSN within a week after I got married.

I hope you and everyone still waiting get their approvals soon!

  4. I just got approval! My dream came true finally!!

Got the message for my status update at 4.00 p.m.

Couldn't believe it's exactly the same date of my NOA 04/09/2014.

    Awesome! Congratulations!!

I am so truly happy for the approvals!

I am still annoyed *kicking dirt with foot*!

I feel like Tommy Lasorda (manager of Dodgers baseball) I'm going to run out onto the field and start throwing bases around lol!

I know your approval is coming this or next week!!

  5. Congratulations!

Do you write a letter to senators office? If so, can you share the letter?

Here is the letter I wrote: (I don't know if this letter is too detailed, good/bad etc - but I hope it helps)

    Dear representative,

My name is .... I am in the process of adjusting my status from a K1-Visa to a permanent resident. I submitted my family-based I-485 application in April of 2014.

The past year has been an emotional roller-coaster ride for me and several others who are trying to adjust their status. I cannot afford to lose my job because the green card or renewal EAD card is not here in time before my current work authorization expires on June 20 2015.

I am seeking your help in processing my I-485 case.

I was notified by USCIS that my case was received on April 8 2014.

I had my biometrics appointment on April 22 2014 and I received a request for evidence (missing tax document) in May.

USCIS has received my response to that request on May 21 2014.

On June 25 2014 I received my work and travel authorization combination card (EAD and AP) and in July I received a notice of potential interview waver letter dated July 10 2014. This letter informed me that I was most likely being waved for the interview and that I should wait for a response for up to 6 months from the date on the letter.

Within and after the mentioned 6 months I have not received a response from USCIS.

On January 9 2015 I have submitted an online service request to USCIS because my case was out of the processing time. For this request I have not received any kind of response yet.

On February 20 2015 I submitted a second service request trough an USCIS Tier 1 officer. I received a response to this within a week in form of a letter. The letter stated that due to workload not related to my case USCIS is anticipating delays in completing my case.

Today marks 1 year since USCIS has received my case and I have not received a decision yet. My case is out of processing time and my local field office NYC is already working on cases dated June 25 2015.

The delay in the processing of my case delays my wish to become a citizen as I can only apply for citizenship if I'm already 3 years in the possession of a green card - which as of today I have already been waiting for 1 year.

On March 6 2015 USCIS has received my renewal application for the EAD and AP combination card.

On April 3 2015 I had an appointment at a USCIS ASC to had my fingerprints retaken for my renewal EAD and AP (case number: MSC15xxxxxxx) and have not received an update yet.

I sincerely appreciate your help in this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone: or via email:

    Case details:

    Name of applicant:

    Date of birth:

    Address of applicant:

    Country of birth:

    Receipt no.

    Filing date:

    USCIS Account no.:

    Sincerely,

  6. Congrats!! Whoop, whoop! Happy for you!!!

I have to say two approvals today, both contacted ombudsman around 3 weeks ago, coincidence?!?! Any way doesn't matter as you have your GC. Enjoy, go celebrate and have a drink for me!!

Thanks shell. I don't think the ombudsman has anything to do with that. At least not with my case since I contacted their office yesterday and was told no one looked into my case yet and I should wait till the end of the month for them to take a look.

    Thank you :)

Congratulations! I told you I smelled your approval... Enjoy!

You were absolutely right! I can't believe the wait is finally over -for now ...

  7. Approved around 530pm est. :)

--- I never once called tier 2 or uscis. I did a few service requests, and emailed the ombudsman three weeks ago.

Almost hit the year mark! So thankful I can't wait to get the card. I plan on surprising my wife with it once we get it! It says I should get it by June 7th but from what I read it takes only a week.

Good luck to everyone else waiting!

    Congratulations!!

  8. My EAD card has been sent to production today. Dear USCIS, that is not the right card that should be sent to production at this time!!!!

I had my biometrics renewal on March 2nd. Tier2's SR is still not assigned to an officer...since Mar 24th. I also contacted Ombudsman on Mar 16.

    Congrats, Val!!!

Wow. This is so wrong - on so many levels. So sorry to hear that! They better approve your green card like yesterday!

    Thank you :)

The better sent you a green card soon!

    Thank you :)

  10. OMG - my card is being produced !!!!

I seriously can't believe this. Today marks 1 year since Uscis received my case. Tthey decided to give me an anniversary gift it seems.

I don't know if it was a coincidence or related to the fact that I contacted the ombudsman office yesterday and that I contacted my senators office this morning or that I went for my biometrics renewal appointment last week.

I believe its all the positive energy you guys are sending out!

Thank you so much and thanks for all the help!

In the happiest person right now :D

Good luck to all of you who are still waiting. I hope your wait will be over soon!

  11. you need to request to speak with tier 2. it helps

I was referring to the ombudsman office in that case.

I spoke to a tier 2 officer several times before. They all weren't helpful although I must say that they were all really friendly :D

However I'm going to call them again today at my lunch break.

Also, I send my senator an email this morning. I hope I get a response soon.

  12. GusippiG gives you the written route which most of us take because we ha e no time...but if you have the time, the warm handshake of you with her immigration staffer puts a real face to your problem...it works...think about it...

If you have to choose a Senator, Sen Gilibrand is your better choice...

    Good luck...

Thanks for the advise! I'm just not willing to take another day off work already after I just had to take the day off to get my fingerprints retaken. But let's see.

  13. Don't give up. Call again tomorrow. Call early and request tier 2. You should have no push back, they should just simply transfer you. Ask where your application is at. If it's still at NBC tell them you want to send a service request to NBC. I know it's discouraging at times, I used to call practically every day. Don't give up.

Yes I guess I could call them again. Let's see what they have to say this time as tomorrow will be 1 year since they received my I-485 ...
