i traveled from US to algeria and i still didn't recieve my green card but i got a stamp in my passport that allow me to travel outside US for one year this is what i was told when i was given the passport back with the stamp first time i entered the US.
now that i went to my country of origin for one month and tried to come back to US the airlines agent told me that i need a letter from the embassy as my visa has expired, i explained him about the stamp but i think he dosn't know it. :
