  1. We had called uscis because it was taking too long after we sent in the rfe. The agent told us we'll hear back from them in 2 weeks or so. Than we received a letter saying that we have been randomly selected for an interview and to wait for them to schedule an interview at the local office. That was on January 10. Still waiting. Went to get a extention and the agent told us they only do i751 interviews there once a month. That's why it's taking so long.

A mega city like the Big Apple only conducts 1 interview a month? Unbelievable!!!!!!

  2. No, we've been randomly selected for an interview.

We were also randomly selected for the interview after marrying. :)

Is there a way to tell if ones are randomly selected for interview.

The letter (sent by snail mail) we received for our service request some months ago has letter head from the local office, does that mean we are awaiting an interview as well???

Basically we sent in our I-751 nearly a year ago, and hear back basically nothing after the receipt letter.

  3. Hello everyone, today is exactly a year since I applied jointly with my hubby. I filed another service request this week and called my congressman to follow up on my case. They asked for a copy of the receipt and said they were looking into it. I hope I will hear some news soon :) Staying positive!!! Is anyone else still waiting?

We're waiting over here as well lol..

Hubby went for an extension stamp in passport about 2 weeks ago, he said they told him not to worry much and just wait. Also we were told that we might or might not get RFE/interview, basically nobody knows anything.

  4. I went for an infopass today and got my passport stamped. TIP: If your last name in the passport is different, they ask for a passport photo. I had to go to Walgreens next door to get it.

The officer couldn't tell me anything about my case besides what I already knew. It is still processing in Vermont. She told me to wait for decision and not worry. At the same time she said a few times that my interview wasn't scheduled yet. I asked her if I was selected for an interview and she said NO. Confusing!!! It will be 11 months since I filed on April 25th.

    Hi there,

We're on the same boat. They told me nothing but wait (spoke to tier 2.) I believe there are many people out there who are like us, so don't sweat much.

I'm getting ready to have my passport stamped as well.

  5. My approval letter was from the local office too and I never got any updates stating so, in fact the letter had a sticker over the approval from Vermont (the sticker had the signature from the Atlanta office)

Oh okay. I just checked the envelope, and it was indeed mailed from the local office. Not sure if things will now be sped up or what not since my area is known for backlog and high workload..

Congrat on your approval btw.. :)

  6. We'll keep you in our prayers, Cherry79. Good luck with the journey!!

We receive the letter to our service request today. The weird part is that the letter head is addressed from the local office (instead of Vermont Service Center something I suppose.)

Does that mean our case get transferred to the local office??? The online status doesn't show nothing.

Also, we never receive any RFE for that matter.

  7. Hey, lets call me an idiot here for a moment (Also hey, long time no speak!)

But, my green card expiry date is 08/05/15.

Now, I'm assuming that the date format is MM/DD/YY but I can't find anything, anywhere, that confirms that the date on the card is actually that format and I really don't want to assume that it expires in August, and not May.

How can I confirm the date of expiry? (Other than calling the USCIS)

Your adjustment of status was approved in August. It makes prefect sense that the expiration date is August 5th 2015.

  8. At this point we start to wonder whether us not getting RFE from them is a good thing or bad thing because we didn't receive anything else besides the very first notice.

Why shouldn't we call our congressman??? Isn't that their job to assist us, TAX PAYER!!!!!!!!

Also, anyone has any idea what would happen once the I-751 expired???

  9. @Ayuki_nill: Are you saying you have not done your biometrics yet? I hope I am misreading your post.

You might want to look into that. I think there might be a problem.

The biometrics status is current, so there was no need for them to send out the letter (we found out about that after submitting a service request in the early stage.)

Anyhow, regardless, things for those of us that filed in May 2014 don't go too well, lots of RFEs and interviews..

  10. Service request# 3

Called USCIS and TIER2 had no clue as to why my case is taking so long. 91 days after the actual processing time. Asusal they took my info and a service request put.

Officer said May 5th 2015 my i751 will expire and USCIS should have a decision by then.

    That is interesting..

They didn't tell me about the case being expired after certain time when I called. The officer just said it'd take them another 120 days to make a decision. My file was sent aprox 2 weeks after yours..

  11. Found an email from our lower. He received approval notice by mail today !!! It's late to find out exact approval day, but he mentioned its under 2 weeks since we mailed the RFE.

My case online is not updated, and we got nothing in mail. Next week I'll be sleeping by the mailbox  Having champagne with my darling

    Congrats to you!! :)

Hey, mind if you ask you this? I'm not sure if I did this before, but what was your RFE about?? And what you responded with???

We're quite nervous over here because we haven't heard anything from them, no RFE, not even the biometrics letter, nothing.
