  1. Hey all,

I entered the US in October and applied for my SSN on 10/20/2014 (almost 8 weeks ago). Every time I call they tell me that it is still with homeland security for verification of my documents.

My question is, is it normal to take this long? should I be worried?

    Kind regards,

    Adam

  2. Don't waste any more money on lawyers at all. As stated going with the intent of getting married and staying is fraud, getting married and going home is not. Read through all the guides here etc and you will get everything you need to know.

Apply now and touch wood you could have your visa by summer time if not sooner if you would fall in CSC area.

You can still visit in January absolutely. Just prove you have a life back home. And yes be honest.

The key word here is Intent. From what I have heard so long as you can 'prove' that getting married was a 'spontaneous' decision then there is technically no fraud as you have not entered the country with the 'intent' to marry and stay.

I have heard of cases were people have got married on a tourist visa and applied for AoS and had no problems. I have also heard of cases that end up in disaster. Best advice is go legit either file for a K1 and go to the US to get married and stay or get married and go home and then file for a spousal visa.

  3. Hello!

I believe you only need to take the vaccination records however if you answer yes to any of the questions on the questionnaire it would be beneficial to take your medical records as it may prevent delays (i.e Knightsbridge doctor needing further information on a medical condition you have.)

I would also recommend getting the full medical records anyway as when your fiancé moves to the US his new Dr may want to see them.

    Kind regards,

    Adam

  4. Yes, I actually filled in the notification of applicants readiness form once it was confirmed that London had my case file

    Kind regards,

  5. Ok, got a weird one for you all. ;)

I am currently on an extended trip to my fiance here in England (since May 24th). We are hoping to fly back to my home state (Minnesota) on October 28th, and the plan is for him to come with me, and wait out the time until his interview there (we want him to meet my family and enjoy the holidays). We have a little ways to go, having just turned in our first RFE (they lost a page of my I-129F). I am wondering if anyone has:

    1. Stayed as a visitor for almost the full 3 months? We wouldn't push the whole 90 days, but maybe 80 or so? We want to cover Thanksgiving, Christmas, and his birthday (which if he leaves the day after that, would be 80 haha). He turned in his resignation to work today, and we have plenty of money saved up for his entry and stay.

    2. Gone through customs together? I have only ever gone through customs by myself (through US from Mexico and Germany, and then into Mexico, Germany, and England). We are not a household yet, but can we go to the same booth? If not it doesn't change much, would just ease my mind. Our POE would be MSP, and from what I have heard they are very understanding (all that Minnesota nice!)

Thanks guys! Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

    1) Just make sure he has proof of home ties to his country and how he will finance the trip

    2) You would go to a US Citizens booth and he would go to the Visitor booth or thats how me and my Fianceé did it.

    Kind regards,

  6. Kids in the UK start school at 4.

My Fianceé and I put her daughter in school over here whilst she was visiting for 5 months on a tourist visa. There is absolutely no reason to be denied a place at a school unless A) The school does not have the capacity to take her or B) You are not inside the schools catchment area.

I just had to fill out a form and send it to my Local Authority who then got her a place in the school.

    Kind regards,

  7. Interview was a breeze. Handed in all my documents, waited for what seemed like an eternity haha then got called up and was asked the following questions:

    How did you meet?

How have you maintained the relationship since then?

What does your Fianceé do for work?

After I answered them she gave my documents a quick glance over and told me I was approved inteview itself lasted less than 5 minutes.

Will be writing a full review in the next hour!

    Adam
