  1. I am currently an oversees gov't worker and my wife had her interview de-scheduled as well. Being overseas I am able to talk more closely with the immigration officer and we were told that it is not just my wife's case (N-400) but currently all cases and that there was no "get well date". We were able to keep our "date" but if things weren't fixed/figured out/corrected by that date we would not be able to have her take the oath. Per the first reply it wasn't because the officer was out of office or anything because he basically gave us a pick of any day we wanted.

It seems like the immigration officer had no idea when things would start up again and if anyone else has anymore knowledge on the matter that would be great!

  2. Hey Everyone,

So I am the sponsor currently in the Military and my fiance is currently in China. We are going for the K1 visa and our application is at the Guangzhou consulate and we are waiting for packet 3. I have already sent her the additional info (I129f package, affidavit of support......etc) Our question is about our addresses. We both graduated in between our NOA1 and NOA2. We both have access to our old addresses if need be to pick up mail (my parents and her college). On the paperwork like I134 and her DS160 it asks where will you go to in USA. Should she or I or both keep the addresses the same as in the our initial I129f package. I kept the address the same in my affidavit of support as my parents even though I currently got relocated. Should she make sure her address is the same for herself as well and in her DS160 should she keep the address where she is going the one I put in mine even though I am now in South Dakota.....not New York. I was thinking of just keeping the original addresses through K1 visa process and then switching my address for the following steps after she is in the USA. Thanks for your time and responses :)

  3. Hey everyone!

    So I received my NOA1 today :).

My question is more about expediting. I have read about the military help line to call and the qualifications to expedite. I will be getting orders this week to relocate. I have two questions. Is PCS orders good enough to use for proof (instead of letter signed by my commanding officer since this will be my first assignment its hard to do that) and what type of "argument" or examples should I use in a cover letter explaining why I should qualify for expedite.

Also, I couldn't find anywhere, how much quicker is an expedited K1 If I just received NOA1.

Thanks for all of the help!!

    Best

  4. Hello everyone,

This forum has been amazingly helpful so far. I am getting ready to send in my I-129F and I just had a few questions about the financial proof needed for the process.

I am currently a student about to graduate in 3 months. I will be moving to a location In July. I currently have no one to support in the USA and will only be asking for a K1 visa for my fiance (she has no kids)

    1) G325a form - should I just mention my one large employer for employment history or should i put all of the other little side jobs I have had as well

    2) For the process (2nd leg) I can get a letter from my employer about my continued employment and a letter from my bank. Will I need to have copies of any W2 or tax returns for a year or 2 years or 3 years?

    3) For I-134 I just want to double check and what would be the salary needed to not have a co-sponsor? I can currently prove about 27,000 for last year.

    4) If I move after filing and before she gets the Visa do i need to file a I-864 or do i file this anyway even if i dont move?

    5) "Some foreign U.S. consulates require a 2nd affidavit of support which is called "sponsor's financial responsibility

under the social security act." It is a simple form and easily filled out and signed." - Is this needed for China?

Thanks everyone for all of your help. I feel like this process is do-able but a mistake is so costly!

  5. Thank you everyone for all of your help. I have decided to leave the space blank for the Middle name so hope this is ok. For the Original Statement in the I-129F package it asks for the embassy address. The one for Guangzhou in China that I found is

    U.S. Consulate General
43 Hua Jiu Road, Zhujiang New Town
    Tianhe District
    Guangzhou, China
    510623

Does anyone know if this is correct and the only one within China?

    Thanks again!!!!!

  6. 1) Chinese do not have a middle name, should she put None in this spot?

    2) Residency of last five years....first one does not have a street or number of street for address its just a "****University" name, is this ok to put say "Duke University"

    3) Current address will most likely change by the time the embassy can send the package, is there an address that is not mine I can get the package mailed to? How would I write that in there for them to know?

    4) Last five years residence. If first residence lasted for 4 years (university) but only last two would fit within the 5 year timeframe. Should I write the dates all the way back from when i started to live at that address making it 7 years of residence or just cutoff and make it a perfect 5 years.

    5) Does her printed name in last bolded box need to be printed in pen or typed?

    6) If one parent is deceased in the row for her parent residence would we write last residence or "deceased"

Not for this form but in general, is a birth certificate needed at any point in the process from getting the visa to becoming a citizen? She does not have a birth certificate? Also should she breakup her first name and make one a first and one a middle name for her passport and visa forms?

I am the USA citizen writing questions for my Chinese fiance.

  7. Hello everyone,

Currently Putting together my I-I29F. I just wanted to double check with anyone who has put one together everything that the foreign fiance needs to send to me first before I can submit. According to the K1 guide here on Visa Journey I will need a

    1) Original statement on intent to marry

    2) G-325A filled out and signed

    3) Passport type photo

......My fiance seems to think that websites in Chinese say that she should send me a photocopy of her birth certificate and photocopy of her passport (which she doesnt have yet) Are these two necessary for this step or is there anything else I have not mentioned?

    Thanks!
