  1. Hello All,

I received from NVC an email notice and I'm wondering what it means. I received a checklist 2 months ago and sent the new AOS/I-864 back immediately and NVC sent me an email saying they had received the new AOS/I-864 on SEP 22

So is this new email saying that they have approved everything ( found that I have the finances to support my wife, etc.)? and are going to schedule the interview? How long will it take them to schedule the interview?

I will keep searching the visajourney site, but any help is appreceiated!

Here is what the latest motice said:

    20-NOV-14

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

  2. Hi Saylin,

I think I have noticed that Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs has changed their website in reguards to the Immigrant Visa Process.

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/petition.html

Maybe it has been posted some where on VisaJourney, or maybe I am wrong, but I will ask here if you or anyone else has noted a change.

First, before when I checked the Embassy specific drop-down list in the Step 5: Collect Supporting Documents down near the bottom, there USED to be no specific MNL (Manila) Embassy specific info in the PDF downloadable document. Now there is a long list.

SECOND, in STEP 6: Submit Documents to NVC it states:

Step 6: Submit Documents to the NVC

After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of the documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package.

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

So now I think that all Visa Journey wikis should now make it clear that after a person enters the DS-260 online they should then send the I-864 (with supporting documents) and the Supporting Documents for the Ds-260 all at the same time.

    Am I wrong on this?

  3. I just recently dealt with send about 6 pages of documents from the Philippines to the U.S.

One problem I had was that DHL, FedEx and UPS do not have very good information, that is easily found on their websites, about JUST SENDING DOCUMENTS in a envelope. You cannot calculate using their shipping calcultors because that is more for packages. If you call them or go there directly you will probably find out it is cheaper than the prices I have seen being shown on this thread.

My wife went to the local DHL office in her town in the Philippines and asked. It turned out to be 1480 pesos ($33.63 USD) to send 6 sheets of paper. It took about 3-4 business days

    Hope this helps,
