We made copies on the way back over there. When my wife gave them to the applicant she scanned them and attached them to the electronic file. She then asked if we needed them back and shredded them when the applicant said no

My wife is the applicant, not me, but this is what she told me. I was in the waiting room. Interview took about 25 minutes. Started about 90 minutes after the time we were given. Our case is very simple, with no red flags, so your mileage may vary but this is what happened:
Started with the Civics test - got the first 6 questions right, so only 6 were asked. Test passed
Moved onto the English test - we assumed this would be waived as applicant is British and only speaks/has ever spoken English, but it was not waived - hey have you read a sentence, write a sentence and say a sentence. Passed this test too.
Then the officer goes through the n400 form line by line on her computer screen. We had missed a couple of checkboxes (that should have been 'safe' no answers) so she filled them in and had the applicant initial the corrections with a digital signing pad.
Once that was done, the officer asked for the Bona-Fide marriage documented I mentioned in my earlier post. Applicant said we didn't have them - because nowhere did they tell us to bring them. Officer said we were approved pending delivery of those papers (even though they have them on file already!) and that we could bring them back today and be approved today, or we could mail them in to that office. We brought them back and the officer quickly looked them over, scanned them in, added them to the applications and then gave the verbal approval.

Add our case to the Phoenix List. Hope I did it right. Wasn't sure what Cashd referrred to. We are just waiting on the oath date. It seems to have gone surprisingly fast for a big office like LA.

Is joint marriage evidence required for the N-400 interview? I've heard conflicting viewpoints on the interview when filed under 3 year rule. On one hand I hear that they are not concerned about the marriage anymore as the AOS and ROC process takes care of that. On the other I hear that I should to take all joint evidence from marriage that was submitted for AOS and ROC to the N-400 interview. Which one is true? It would be a TON of documents to take if I need to take all my previous documents.
I was just thinking of taking the followig: Joint tax returns for 3 years, leases we signed, spouse US birth certificate, marriage certificate and maybe a bank statement or two showing joint account. I can also take joint health insurance and car insurance proof if needed. Would this be enough? Also, do I need to take photos like I did for the AOS interview?

P.S. Here is my overall timeline in the US... this may or may not help with your response. I've lived in the US since 2008. Got married in 2014, got conditional GC in 2014, ROC approved in 2017 with 10-year GC and applied for citizenship in November 2017.
We just had the N-400 interview this week, and despite having had the removal of conditions approved in November of 2017, we were unexpectdely asked to produce all that info again before the N-400 could be approved.
We didn't have it with us, but fortunately, we had it all filed, and we live near our field office so we were able to leave, collect it and return same day to provide it. We were then approve din person and just got the formal approval notification this morning.
So, I would bring it just in case.

US/UKHUBBY I believe is the first CSC 751 August filer getting a 751 approval while 400 is pending, but it may or may not be significant for those of us who have dual pending applications about the 751 approval because US/UKHUBBY just filed his or her 400 last week and his 400 NOA date is exactly the same as his 751 approval date which probably means they probably approved his 751 before they found out he had applied for 400. If they found out he applied for 400 before they adjudicated his or her 751, they would have delayed his/her 751. Wow, lucky guy/girl. At least it seems like CSC has started working on August piles. Good news overall.
I fixed our timeline, based on the dates on all these letters.
PS: I'm the US Citizen husband, my wife is the immigrant on her way to citizenship.

Correct, we filed N400 via paper to the Arizona address on 10/28. We received the N400 NOA letter today dated 10/31. Also received a letter from them with N400 online account details. We then setup the USCIS account and saw a letter generated today that gives us a biometric appointment date.
Is it unusual for this to happen? N400 and I751 are handled by different parts of USCIS, correct?

Hope I made the update to the table correctly, had to add myself in, but got notification today that the new card is in the mail. First time we heard from them since Biometrics. Guess we got lucky.

No problems - I used it with my iPhone 4s, my wife used with her Nexus 4, both had good signal, and solid internet throughout the greater LA area. The internet was slow in Kaua'i but I think that was more a Kaua'i issue than a ReadySim issue!

Flying to San Diego this Sunday, so I was wondering if somebody can recommend me the prepaid sim card that offers the best deal if you're looking for unlimited data (minutes and texts don't really mind how much I get).
I have found some deals for $55.00 but I'm looking to pay $20.00 or so just like in London (12 pounds atm).
My fiance has a contract, but I already have my iPhone so would it make sense to have contract without phone?

Random question, say you were applying for your first US job, would you just list your university name and previous workplaces in the resume without drawing attention to the fact that they are in the UK? Or would you emphasise the fact that you come from the UK? I don't want employers realising that I'm British and just assuming I can't work here so not taking my applications further lol.
My resume clearly shows my employment and educational history as being in the UK, not because I've drawn attention to it specifically, but just from the basic detail of the info contained therein. I've had a few leads so far and no one seems at all concerned that it's non-US detail included. I guess they just want to see relevant experience, regardless of where you did it.
That said, every job I've applied for involved some level of online application, in addition to the inclusion of the resume, which will include both a question asking for your address (i.e. in the US) and usually a question about your employment status with a drop down (e.g. citizen, permanent resident, require sponsorship etc. etc.). The combination of the two should make it clear that you are local and authorised to work.

Interview went well, thanks for asking. We were approved with minimum fuss. I've put a review up of our day and updated the timeline - from receipt of NOA1 to approval at interview we were less than 4 months all together.

For ours, the medical was Friday May 16, filed NoR on Monday May 19, got the interview letter on May 31st, with an interview date of June 20th (tomorrow!!)

I have used Transferwise many times to send money from my UK bank account to my son in Finland, my other son in Australia and myself in the US. I love it. Never a problem, the process is easy (I use an app on my phone now), the money usually arrives before their estimated time and the rates are good. Highly recommend.
Seconded, I think it's a great service. My first transfer didn't work (due to an error on my part) and they were very communicative and super helpful.

I've read somewhere else that you can file your tax reruns via the IRS in London and that if you include copies they'll return the copies to you stamped as received to be used as evidence of the filed returns when applying for the visa. I'm guessing that's no longer the case? If I follow http://www.irs.gov/uac/Instructions-for-New-Streamlined-Filing-Compliance-Procedures-for-Non-Resident-Non-Filer-US-Taxpayers how quickly will I get evidence that my tax returns have been filed? Also do I really need to file FBARs for the past 6 years? I've tried phoning the IRS at the London Embassy to ask these questions but they're not answering!
As far as I know, you don't get any evidence from IRS that you filed your taxes. So take photocopies of your forms before you submit them. The ask from the embassy is for copies, not originals.You can get proof of delivery of your packet, if you use a mail service that provides it.
As of 2012 taxes you only need to file an FBAR if you had more than $10,000 in overseas (i.e. Non-US) bank accounts at any point during the year. Not sure if that number has changed for 2013 taxes.

Thanks for the advice.I'm onto filing my back taxes. How many years do I need to go back? I've never filed any tax return with the IRS. I've been told 3 years is sufficent. Does that sound ok?

I started from a similar situation to you, except already married but no kids. DCF via London is pretty straightforward and there is a ton of info here and on the Embassy website to guide you through,
I was in the same position in relation to taxes. After some research, and speaking to the IRS section in London, I followed this process: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Instructions-for-New-Streamlined-Filing-Compliance-Procedures-for-Non-Resident-Non-Filer-US-Taxpayers
It looks scary but it is fairly straightforward. The IRS phone line at the Embassy is useful, when they answer!
Don't sweat the residency, you can take some steps to show your intent to re-establish residency and still apply without having to go first

I really don't understand why they bother with a private medical when everyone in the UK has access to 'free' healthcare.
The UK doesn't make Americans get medicals when they apply for visas.
The sweet irony of course being that a returning USC doesn't have to get a medical and could bring all kinds of illnesses home!

Hi All.
First post, been lurking for a while whilst I got everything figured out. Have started the DCF journey by submitting the initial I-130 and associated forms on Feb 21st, NOA1 received March 5th.
One thing that I caught right at the last minute, is the Embassy have updated the I-I30 checklist form and there is a new requirement - including a photocopy of the beneficiary's passport (photo page).
I found this by getting lucky - i'd had a printed version I was working from, I misplaced it, checked the form on the Embassy page and saw the update and new requirement.
Didn't think I'd seen this anywhere on here, so thought I'd mention it. (Not sure how to update the wiki etc,)
