  1. Hello all,

I received my visa may 1st and after a battle with the embassy my son received his u.s citizenship June 17th and we flew back to the u.s on June 19th. I have conditional residency so I'm not supposed to leave the u.s for more than 6 months which I wasn't planning on until my husband got pcsed to Germany for four years!!! And we leave in January. I am so confused on what to do about my residency, I don't want to lose it, anyone know what I'm supposed to do in this situation? How do I keep my residency? Van I apply for naturalization?

  2. My son went to London embassy may 16th for his crba, u.s passport and ssn. My husband couldn't be there and was excused due to military reasons. The officer requested two additional documents which we got to her in a few days. She knew we had confirmed travel to the u.s on the 19 june. That's two weeks away and I'm freaking out!!! She said I could get an emergency passport for my son if worst came to worst and his passport wasnt back but the embassy site says you can only book it 5 days before you travel, but it takes them like a week to respond!! I'm at an utter loss on what to do. Is there an online site to track his passport? How long does it usually take from experience? Any help would be greatly appreciated :(

  3. Hello,

I was issued my visa May 1st, and recieved it back with my passport May 8th. We were expedited (cr1) because my husband (usc) can be deployed at any time with only 12 hours notice. My son (USC to be) has an appointment at London Embassy this Friday May the 16th to get his citizenship (Certificate of Registered Birth Abroad, Social Security Number, and his first U.S passport which is required by law for him to travel to the U.S). Online it says a childs first U.S passport can take 5 weeks, well the Embassy are expecting me to travel between the last week of May and first week of June, as was written on my visa case as intended date to travel. Due to our circumstanes, would it be possible to request my childs U.S passport to be expedited? I dont care how much it costs, we will pay it, our family just needs to be together asap!

    Please help,

    Thank you!!

  5. I was living with my dad in Florida during school breaks and my boyfriend at the time broke up with me, I didn't really know anybody else do I signed up to a dating site to get over him and to meet new people in the area...that'd where I met my husband. It was s long road for us with me moving, him moving, then us both moving together to nc when he joined the army...we got married almost a year ago, have a 7 month old son together...it definitely does happen. I couldn't be any happier!

  6. Welcome to the New and Improved Case Complete to Interview monthly thread.

The list that has been updated has now been moved to a spreadsheet like the one used in the NVC filers thread, I am still updating. But right right all you waiting for interviews are listed.

You can view my spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtbvTEwLyHz1dEhlZjdKczRMRmJrSnc5MTk1SkVrYVE&usp=sharing#gid=0

To update your interview date go here.

For New people to the thread please go here and input your information in the form and it will be added to the form.

Here are some FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you. Be sure to visit your countries portal and click on the Consular Information and also Consular reviews.

    FAQ

I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?

Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.

How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?

Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month

Do I have to call for my interview date?

NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.

I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?

Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.

Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.

I need to change our interview date what do I do?

Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.

What do I need to bring to interview?

When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.

I'm supposed to be expedited, it was accepted for expedite at the London embassy and they received it march 31st and I still don't have an interview date :(

  7. P.s in your guide it says " DOS will know your interview date once it has been assigned. You may call them and ask the date. It is a good idea to check with them because London has sent out late letters or no letters in the past."

Do you think they'd have assigned an interview date to me? If so, how do I contact dos? My case is different to most. When I submitted my ds260 and readiness form, my ceac status was updated the next day, it still said "ready" but it stated the last update was 10th, before it was 31st which is the day my petition arrived at the embassy (tracked through dhl).

Thank you once again, you're brilliant!

  8. In general people processing at London (K1s and CR1 doing DCF) follow similar steps.

I've done a K1 guide to London that would have some good info also applicable to you...same but different, if you will.

    Different:

You do DS-260 (not DS-160) visa application

You do I-864 (not I-134) affidavit of support

You scedule courier online after you get a date assigned (same) but you do not pay online in advance as K1s are instructed. Pay at the embassy.

    Same:

Medical exam post 3 in guide. Phone number, location, questionnaire, clinic website will help you.

Most of Post 4, keeping in mind your forms are DS-260 and I-864 and wedding date tip doesn't apply.

Document list (birth certificate, police cert, etc) to bring to interview link in guide.

    What happens on interview day.

    Checking CEAC

Here's the K1 guide http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/ with some plain talk and tips about what happens that will give you some info

Here's some links on the London Embassy website with info for you

    http://london.usembassy.gov/ivprocess.html (general)

    Your instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

Your forms to submit online are in the right column of that page, so don't miss that. You have to click "read more" to get to the readiness for interview form. Poorly designed because a lot of people don't click read more.

In your readiness form, there is a place to put planned date of travel. I don't know if it will accept text, but instead of a date try to put "military expedite".

I hope that helps you find your way. There's nothing written exactly to an expedite case but following the K visa and DCF visas (which process all forms with the embassy and take all documents to the interview) should help you grasp the concept. Generally the forms (2) and medical results have to be received before they will assign an interview.

This is the ONLY way to effectively contact the embassy--online form http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

Choose this reason: My inquiry concerns immigrant visas and is not covered by information on your website

I would use the contact form once you have submitted the forms and attended the medical so you can say you were expedited and why, and you have done your part (forms/medical) and need them to schedule your Interview ASAP please.

    Thank you sooo much!!

The nvc submitted our expedited cr1 to London on the 31st and notified me through email saying it had been accepted for expeditious processing at the embassy so they should...should...honour that. I asked if I needed to do anything 4 times and they said no just wait to hear from London and hand the aos and ds260 in there with the documents and fees. If I hadn't of read your reply I would still be sat here dumb founded. I found my ds260 available online and completed that the 9th, I booked my medical for 14th (this monday) I submitted a readiness form stating military expedite, i have sent a first class letter to the embassy three days ago with a cover letter, his orders, and our response from nvc stating it was accepted for expedite processing at the embassy in London....is there anything to your knowledge that I am missing that may delay receiving an interview date? I am greatful for your thread, it was very very useful.

  9. Hi all,

I don't think it will be a problem but i have not been tested for STD before or my USC. Had my medical today and all went really well but i have started to worry about Syphilis.

If by a small chance the bloods came back a positive, what would happen ?? I hope its not a denial.

Is it a case of knights bridge postpone sending medical results until action is taken ?

I know i maybe worrying a bit too much but just need to be prepared.

    Thanks

    Paul

That disease pretty much got whiped out in the UK a long time ago. If for some reason you did, theyd ask you to get treatment and then redo your medical so you can pass and be on your way.

  10. If I ask for an expedite will it pose a problem for my case

Hi, i am going through a similar situation but i am married to the babys father usc and had my son September. Your child can get USC through his father if hes the usc. Youll file for a certificate.of registered birth abroad, the babies u.s passport and social security number at your local embassy. I hope this helps. Any questions, feel free to ask me and I will do my best to help.

It's unfair to have to go through this on your own, it broke my heart when my hisband had to miss out on our son being born. I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy birth and baby!

  11. Have you submitted the online visa application, had a medical exam, and submitted London's Readiness for Interview form?

Have you notified the embassy in writing with documentation of his orders to request an embassy expedite? I recall others doing that in London, even though expedited at a previous location.

Have you used the online contact form to remind them your application, readiness form, and medical are done and you have an approved expedite?

Just trying to figure out if they are waiting on something from you.

No I haven't, should I have done so? I was informed via the ceac website to waiy for an interview letter with details on it and could book my medical before hand...I wasn't told about a form, only that because I was expedited all forms and fees that were supposed to go to the NVC should be handed in the day of the interview. I have tried to call and email through their site but I can never get through to a person or get a response, how do I forward them his orders?

I am so lost and confused, I appreciate your help Nick

Also, I was never given a readiness form, my status on the ceac site switched to ready for interview the day the embassy got it on the 31st

  12. You should try asking this in the UK forum. Or maybe a Mod can get this moved?

I am sorry I don't have an answer for you. If they sent it due to expedite maybe they will let your spouse pay at the embassy. But hopefully someone will have an answer for you soon.

Could you link me to the UK forum per chance? I would appreciate it and any help I could get in this matter. Thank you for your insight and response.

  13. Hello vj members,

My I130 was approved for expediting by the nvc just as our aos was generated and we were just about to pay it but it wouldn't let my husband because it said the case had been forwarded to the u.s embassy in London. The nvc also emailed me to tell me it had been approved and if I had any questions about forms, fees or interview date to call the embassy.

I wasn't given a contact number, the two I've found online are not giving me the information I need (its all information about non immigrant visas). I am at such a loss on what to do because I have tried emailing the embassy, I have tried calling...I can not speak with an operator. Nvc say they can't help at all. So I am Sat here in limbo not knowing the next steps to take.

I have no idea if the embassy will contact me about an interview date, and what I need to bring with me since we didn't send in the aos or iv packets or fees to the nvc...any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  15. Hi saylin,

I was wondering if you could add me to the spreadsheet? Nvc revived my case Feb 12th, case number assigned march 21st. I just completed my choice of agent form then I got the termination message, almost had a heart attack, thought I'd done something wrong and messed it all up haha. Thank you for all your advice on your links....its been such a life saver :)

  16. Good to hear you got your case number.

When did you receive your NOA2?

When did NVC receive your case?

When did you get your Case number?

    My NOA2 was 19FEB14

NVC Received the Package from USCIS 04MAR14

I've been calling every other day to get my Case Number

NVC kept tellling me it would take up to 20 days for them to enter it into their system.

But when I called them yesterday, they said up to 30 Days.

I didn't think it took this long at NVC. Is this normal or just my bad luck?

I've made two trips to Mexico, One to Vietnam, Three to Russia all to spend time with my wife. This can be very expensive.

I was hoping to be together before our April 6th anniversary. Doesn't look Good at the moment.

Last trip to Russia was a suprise trip for my wifes birthday.

During that trip we became future parents.

Now I'm hoping to be together to enjoy our pregnancy with her.

Also hoping the disagreements between our two countries won't complicate things.

We will be using the Moscow Embassy for interview. Not sure when that will be.

The nvc has had my expedited petition since February 12th and I still have no case number. My husband had to miss most of my pregnancy, the birth of our son and pretty much the first few months...he could deploy at any moment and they are still taking their time.

  17. I'm brand new to this so instead of getting my hopes up I'll just ask..

The processing times seems to have gained some speed. I see that NSC is down to 75 days.

Are these numbers correct? I'm still trying to figure out how this works.

Hi there, I had Vermont and was approved in 34 days, don't lose hope :)
