  1. Wow that was fast we filed for crba last march submitted everything that was asked but they still need to do DNA. Smh.

Sorry to be late in answering with my response--we did two CRBAs and for the first one they had us do blood dna (2009) but the one we did for our second son was approved with no DNA test. We arranged all of the documents and mounted them as someone else said in this thread. Growing up pictures were easy because we used Facebook posts as time stamps, then printed the pictures that were in the Facebook pages. Everything was arranged with a nice index, and it took only about an hour and a half to get approval in my second son's case last year. See my signature for timelines for the CRBAs and passports. Good luck!

  2. It is totally hit and miss as to who gets interviewed and who doesn't. My wife and I were interviewed, many others were not, but my wife received her GC quicker then they did (4 months from filing)

We just got the potential interview waiver letter June 11, 2015, so we'll see how long it takes for the conditional green card. A poster on the AOS forum indicated that they filed 1 year and a half before they received the GC and got the waiver letter, so we'll see. Good to check in and see everyone on the forum here, Hank and Greenbaum and all!

  3. While the interview waiver may be seen as "lucky," (we got one), it can potentially delay the issue of your green card up to a year and a half (as was the case with us). We filed for AOS early March of 2014 and received a potential "waiver" for the interview. My wife was ecstatic, as she gets very nervous during interviews. However, we did not receive the green card until June 12th 2015.

That's a looong time. We just got my wife's potential interview waiver letter June 11, 2015, so if we are as lucky as you, maybe we're looking at September 2016? Yikes...

  4. Title says it all. We're (God willing) very close to applying for a Passport. We're still waiting on SSS ID which we should be called about any day. I'm traveling to Manila in a few weeks and will fly my sweetheart to Manila to visit me while I am working. While we're there, would it be faster to apply at the DFA in Manila (like Megamall?) for a passport (for delivery in Manila) or faster to apply in Bacolod or Iloilo and wait for it to get sent there? I am expecting that very close to the time her passport will be ready, I'll already have my MNL Case # and will be ready to schedule medical + interview! NOA2 was approved 1/9. So, in theory, if Manila is faster, she flies to Manila, picks up her passport and then goes to a scheduled medical appointment.

    Thoughts?

My wife is from Capiz--speaking from experience, do everything in Manila. Passports take a long time in the Visayas/Bacolod. Good luck on your journey!

  5. In the instructions letter from the Manila Embassy, this is what you need:

    k. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

Ah thanks.. I think I don't need that..

This was copied from the K1 Guide (accessible on the Guide tab above on this website):

I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

    5. You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:

    (A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance

    (B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)

© If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern

    (D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

What do you think are the forms that I need for affidavit of support? If you don't mind :)

  7. Tell the Priest to stay out of your business. Just tell him to flock off. 1963.gif If you want to call your kid Howdy Dowdy then you have every right to call him that name. Geeeesh, I wish the Catholic Church would get out of peoples business. They mess so many families up and they think they have the right to tell you what to do and they can't even keep their house clean.2047.gif

You need to get all your documents so they reflect the real truth to your family ties. That way when you go for your interview you will be confident with your information. Good Luck.

Hmm...this comment sort of hit me in the wrong place, Greenbaum. Some of us here are Catholic, and we tend to believe that families should be lifted up.

  8. I'm not an expert in this area but what comes to my mind is that you had a "bad apple" for a Doctor. IMHO if it were me, I would not except his findings but find out from CFO what are your options are. Don't give up!!! Be positive and not emotional when speaking with CFO and see where you go from there. Keep us posted in your progress. We are here to support you.

This is the St. Luke's process (medical). Maybe go back to St. Luke's, show up and say you have a psychological evaluation scheduled. Try to see a female psychologist if possible, if they will let you, and try again? Not sure what to do on this one.

  9. Bad experience with City Garden Suites and directhotels.com. Made an online reservation and direct hotels sent the hotel 2 reservations within 2 seconds. Obviously I made one reservation, but was charged unknowingly for 2 rooms. The hotel didn't care. They said I made 2 reservations so nothing they can do, which is the easy answer to profit off of me. A nice place but lost our future business because of they double charged us and blamed me.

Yes, and do not ever stay at Sandico Hotel in Ermita. Overcharged a day and they did not even blink when my fiancée debated about the bill. Sandico is terrible. We'll never stay there again.

  10. Starting August 1, 2014, all appointments for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) and Adult Derivative Citizenship applications at U.S. Embassy Manila will be made through a mail-in appointment scheduling system in order to provide better service to our clients. The new mail-in system will reduce the wait time for appointments and help you prepare for your citizenship appointment at the Embassy. See below for details on the new system.

Applicants with On-line Appointments: You do NOT need to schedule a new appointment through the mail-in system. You will bring all required items with you on the day of your appointment.

Yes--I just finished my second son's CRBA (approved!) and passport (approved!) appointment on July 3, and the consul said this was being instituted. Anyone doing CRBAs in the future should keep this link for reference.

  11. our ground was PSYCHOLOGICAL INCAPACITY... because that was the easiest reason for annulment

I am with my fiancée in the Philippines now and she read your question. She also had the annulment based on psychological incapacity, and said the session with the doc at St. Luke's was five minutes, asked about the separation from the first husband and what were the problems involved, then about me (fiancé) and how we met, relationship, etc. She says it was easy and non-threatening. She was asked to come back to complete the immunizations after that session, then passed the embassy interview after. Don't worry according to her, she says it was easy.

  12. If you think in terms of others, there might be a person who does not have all of their papers ready, has an appointment, and decides to cancel their appointment at the last moment to wait until their papers are ready. Cancellations are important right now when the schedule is so full with no open dates. So, one strategy (I've done this and others have as well) is to have your fiancée take the medical and wait in Manila. Perhaps stay with a friend or find an inexpensive apartment short term. Then, when you see an open date, get it, and you are in. Others will tell you to wait for the medical until an appointment is scheduled, but right now that strategy does not seem feasible when others are looking for a cancellation from someone else. These are my thoughts. Good luck, and keep refreshing--F5, F5.

  13. Hello everyone, Its good to have found this site..most of my queries were answered by most member who had their experiences w/ their journey, thanks to all of you who are patiently answering to those who are in need of answers..Anyway,it's been a more than a month of waiting for a sched to be shown, but still I got no luck..Hope they will release August sched instead , if all July sched are taken.. God bless!

Keep your head up and continue to refresh--I know the waiting experience for me was exhausting. I'm sure an appointment date will show up for you in the next couple of days, and you will be ready to go! Good luck.

  14. Hi. Pls help. What is the correct format or arrangement of name on aka? The encoder on nbi put like this, my incorrect firstname, surname, "y" then middle name

I think your question has been answered many times on many threads here in the posts. Good luck dude.

  15. You are IR1/CR1, so I suppose NVC sets your interview date, correct? I suppose patience is a virtue in your case.

For K1, we look for an interview date, but in your case you would wait for an interview date to be assigned, since you are CR1/IR1. Good luck, and hopefully you will get your interview date soon.

  16. I already did but i got no answer, maybe no one knows so i guess just have to wait haha, but i was just so eager to know sorry, i have a question tho why do you have to set/find slot for your interview date? Isnt it the embassy's job? Im just so so confuse sorry.

  17. Yeah i try to use it in ipad it doesn't work well for me.. So I try the desktop with Microsoft as OPerating system.. I dL the Firefox and add check4change on it... I think they have issues in safari..

I did it the old-fashioned way, F5, F5 but I read in another post to change to 2 sec intervals if you are doing Chck4 Change. One guy got an appointment with that set-up. Good luck on getting your date!

  18. I emailed IVManilaReplies@state.gov stating that i did not want to pursue the US citizenship claim and wanted to proceed with the K2 process. apparently, it takes about 5 business days to get a reply. hopefully, they can email me the certification or attach this certification to my fiance's file at the embassy. crossing my fingers on this because the call center rep i talked to would not transfer me to a vice consul and said i needed to email only.

As a back-up plan, I would get all of the CRBA and passport requirements ready and check for cancellations for CRBA appointments. I made my sons' appointments last January for July 1 and 3, but I know there will be some cancellations showing up from time to time. Keep that in mind as you go forward.

  19. Hi there! We're also waiting dor our NOA2 since Feb.4th,we got RFE,sent them back already few days ago and now waiting time continuing, hope we will hear smth soon. Yeah you're right it's really hard and frustrated to wait for so long time, but what we can do? We tried all posible ways with my fiance,he called for an Expedite on April, they approved it and gave 45 days to make a decision, but nothing happened, then after that he asked his senator for help to find out what's going on with our petition,so after he make an inquiry to his repres. It took three weeks till we got RFE,who knows maybe it helped a bit and they finally started reviewing our papers! So now when we sent evidences which they need-hope to get our NOA2 very soon:)

Any way guys cheer up,we all will get our approval sooner or later,it's just a matter of time!

Best of luck, and can't wait to hear from all of us abt our approval!

I wish you good luck. I received NOA1 Feb. 28, NOA2 May 1, and her interview was June 19 (approved). Some countries are faster, and some slower. I wish you all Godspeed on your journeys.
