  1. congrats on passing your interview. Now you're in administrative processing. That process may take months. My fiance is still in AP!!! and his interview was over a year ago!!! So good luck if your AP is not months or years!!!

  2. Form 1-693 is used to report results of a medical examination. This form is required for AOS. It has to be filled out only by a Civil Surgeon. But, this form is only required only if your shots are incomplete. If you have all shots completed on DS3025 vaccination documentation worksheet given to you at the time of medical examination then you don't need form 1-693. You send DS3025 for AOS. (only if all shots are complete).

    hope this helped

  3. I translated all documents myself and I am the petitioner. You just have to verify by writing " I_________ certify that I am competent in both English and Spanish and this is an accurate and complete translation of the original document. Then you sign it, date it, and write your address.

    Hope this helps good luck

  4. Yes, you will receive checklist for that. Contact the NVC and notify them about the mistake and see if you can resend the AOS without having to wait for the checklist. I would go over the form all over again (twice) and make sure there are no other mistakes, you have to read each line carefully in addition to the instructions. Good luck.

@ Nil Desperandum......hello you seem to be very well informed with all this visa stuff. So I have a question. My fiance received a denial worksheet 221(g) which says to send in a police certification and a handwritten criminal history written by him. Then have it sworn and notified. They also say to have all documents translated into English. So my question is I have been the one doing all the translating. I am fluent in Spanish and English language. Do you know if I scan and send him the translations signed by me. Will consulate allow copies? The letter doesn't say anything about oringinals, just must be translated. I've searched and cant find anything on the subject. To mail him original translations takes to long and for him to receive in a few days is expensive. Just thought you might know a website where to find the answer. Thank you inadvance and have a blessed day.

  5. Thanks for replying to my post yesterday. I know exactly what you are going through. My finance can't find any arrest records, but the embassy requested them. Yes, he got a denial worksheet, which only implies that he has a year to send in the documents they requested or his petition will permanently be deleted, so what he is going to do is send in a new police certificate which shows a clean record.

You say they said you have two prior arrests and yet you have never been arrested. The people at the embassy are so overloaded with old and new cases that it is possible they have mistaken you with someone with the same name as you. But have faith. I know its stressful situation, but everything will turn out to your benefit.

Before, if documents were in Spanish you didn't need to translate to English. Now in the letter it states all police, court, and legal documents have to be translated to English. Well good luck and keep me posted.

  6. Did your fiancé present a police certificate (papel de buena conducta) ? Were there criminal records on there? He is supposed to get the disposition of any arrests or charges ever filed against him and then submit them how it says on the denial letter.

Yes, he did present a papel de buena conducta back in Nov. 2013. Now they are asking for another one because those documents expire. My worry is that back when he was 17 he was arrested and charged with being unruly with an officer This happened 21 years ago.. Plus there is no record of this arrest, he searched and nothing so he could not present proof of arrest. His police certicficate says clean slate. I am gathering RD is not very good at keeping records!!! But they are asking for criminal history!! So I am wondering if a police certificate will be eoungh. This process is nerve wrecking!!!

  7. Good afternoon, My finance has been in AP for over a year. Finally yesterday he received a letter of denial worksheet. They ask for a detailed criminal history written by him, a police record. These documents have to be notarized and sworn. I know where to notarize . Where does he take documents to have them sworn in DR. They also have to translated to English. Anyone know a place where this is done in La Vega DR. Anyone here ever done this? If you did, was a visa issued after remitting documents> I will appreciate any helpful information.................thanks in advance.

  8. Hi everyone! My finance got a letter yesterday where it states that visa K-1 was denied section 221g. But it also states that it's still in administrative process which is not complete due to high applications load. It also states that as soon as it is complete they will inform him of a decision. I am confused it's denied but still in process! Has anyone gone through this? OH and they also sent him back his passport :(. Can someone shed some light on this. Thanks

  9. Omg, I thought that I was the only one waiting long time, 3 months in ap.

Did they take his passport? Or did they give him back the passport?

I dont understand why they approved people and put in ap later, before they approved people they investigate people, so I dont understand what they do

they have his passport since February 2014. So now I know from doing alot of reading. They may approve at the appointment, but the you go into AP! I've noticed some people are in AP a short time and some a lifetime. We also paid Domex back in December. Im praying he gets visa soon! It's been a journey!

  10. My fiance was approved back in December 2013 and til this day he is still in AP! Why? Have no idea. I have called, e-mailed the embassy and their response is when they are finished they will notify him. Mind you his chest x-ray has expired so he has to re-do x-ray again. So all you can do is wait patiently like we are. Hopefully everything will workout and the wait will be worth it. This is a long, stressful process for some of us. But all you can do pray and wait, and hope everything comes out ok. Good luck and I hope you hear something soon. Hopefully July 15 we will hear something!!!

  11. If he had all his vaccinations when he had his medical exam a form DS3025 (Vaccination Documentation worksheet) should of been given to him. This sheet states which shots he has and what shots he will need for AOS. If all shots are completed then the 1-693 is not needed. This 1-693 is a worksheet that has to be filled out be a civil surgeon in your hometown, only if shots are incomplete. If he has all shots then you only need to send in DS3025 make sure you make a few copies of this DS3025. Hope this helped

  12. Good Morning all, My finance is in administrative processing. He has been in that state for so long that his

chest x-ray expired. He had to do the sputum test and the 9 week wait for results, which were negative. Now his medical is good til Novemember 2014. We called consoltorio de visas and spoke to someone, we wanted to know the cost to re-take x-ray only since the medical has not yet expired. We were given a price of $270. US dollars! We were told they don't do x-ray only!! Is this right? Why should he take the whole medical again if it is not expired only x-ray expired. 270 dollars and when he took medical back in November 2013 it was ony $180 dollars for everything except vaccines. Can someone shed light on this. Something just doesnt sound right. We were just trying to get ready for when they tell him to re-take x-ray. We werent expecting someone from consoltorios de visa to tell us that he had to take whole medical again cause they dont do x-ray only. Help! Has anyone ever gone through this. thanks in advance

  13. Hi, I also skype with my finance. Our visa appointment was last December 2013. What I did was I printed our skype main pages with our name and photo, our profile page. As proof that we have skype accounts. I also printed some of our conversations. Make sure the time comes out. When asked how we communicated I gave them skype pages. I also have viber free messenger I printed that info. too and had it handy.

  14. My fiance is currently in administrative processing in Santo Domingo DR. He had a medical and x-ray back in December 2013. He had to do the sputum 3 day thing. Waited 9 weeks for results and results were negative. Since then he has been in AP!!! The x-ray expired so he knows that he has to retake x-ray again. Now my question is, has anyone in DR gone through re-taking x-ray again and if you had to to sputum first time, will he have to do sputum again when he re-takes x-rays? I have searched on line for price of just the x-ray and can not find anything. I only found price of the whole examination and vaccinations. Does anyone know what the cost is for x-ray. If anyone has some info. it would be kindly appreciated. Thank you

  15. Hello my fiance visa is in administrative processing as of 3 months in Santo Domingo DR. He was given a varicella vaccine and a influenza shot at the embassy doctor. He is still missing MMR, My question he has searched for that vaccine in his country DR. He couldn't find it, well it turns out that in his country it's called SRP vaccine. One problem hospital won't give him the required shot because it is not age appropriate. But on his DS 3025 it is marked as needed. He has never as a child received MMR shots. Does anyone know if this is a required shot. As an adult he was refused in hospital to get MMR shot. Could it be a mistake by consulate doctor? Please help. thanks

  16. Hi, sorry to hear he is not adjusting. But give him time. I know from experience. I was born in PR. moved to NY state as a baby. Now after so many years now I live on the island. Its been two years and I am just starting to adjust. At first I was unhappy, moody, cried because I missed my family in NY. I made new friends and learned to get around. Now I can truly say I love it here. So with that said just give him time he will eventually adjust. If you are connected to internet have him read and learn about Chicago. He may also need to meet other people that are from his country and he can sit and vent and in turn they can tell him how they adjusted. Good luck and have faith. It'll get better. Praying for you both.
