  1. Hi Mc&C, first congratulations.

Quick question on the RFE--1/2 online status change-does it look like this?

On January 28, 2015, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by March 29, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed.

and what kind of notice did you receive on 2/9? no interview? thanks!

Yes, it was the same status as yours. They mailed out the welcome notice on 02/09, I have no idea what it looks like since I haven't got the mail yet. I haven't got any interview waiver letter or interview request. So I guess they approved my case and it went pretty fast without an interview.

  2. Hey guys, I am just so excited to share my timeline of the AOS case. I-485 and I-765 were both approved on Febuary 10, new cards were ordered to be produced. I-131 was approved on Febuary 9.

11/17/2014: file all three applications via usps

    11/20/2014: Package delivered

    11/24/2014: hard copies of NOA1(dated 11/20/2014)

12/18/2014: biometrics done at Jacksonville field office

    12/18/2014: hard copy of RFE(dated 12/12/2014)

01/02/2015: online status changed to response to USCIS was received

02/09/2015: welcome notice was mailed out

02/10/2015: new card was ordered to be produced(no interview, no interview waiver letter)

I'll keep you guys updated when I have the cards in mail. Hopefully everyone will get it soon too

  3. Hey guys, I recently called USCIS military help line to expedite our case due to my husband's PCS. Got a mail requesting for supporting documents. Any input of what documents should I send in ? I have a copy of my husband's order(he got the order 3 months prior to our wedding, and is now PCS oversea) , would the order still be good? And what else should I send in? Thanks.

  4. I had mine done in Jacksonville. Basically this is what i have done: locate all the civial surgeons close to me, and then make phone calls to them, asking about if the vaccinations must be done in their office and if another medical exam is needed. The one signed my I-693 form doesn't need the vaccinations done in his office, but need a new medical exam. So I got all the vaccinations from somewhere else which can be covered with insurance. And the whole medical exam and signing the paper cost $150, not bad (some asks for $200 or more ). I suggest you ask if the vaccinations need to be done in their office, after all that's the bigger part of the cost.

  5. First off, I know this type of thread has been posted many times before. I've ready quite a few of them. And I'm very confident I'm in the clear and all prepared, but to help me sleep better, I'd greatly appreciate a few comments of "Looks good" or "Hey stupid you forgot form blah blah blabbity"

Also, as we get closer to the finish line, thanks as always to the community here, (Nich is my wife's superhero of immigration). Anyway back on topic.

  6. Hi everyone, I'm arriving to the US on a K1 visa. Some questions I have are...

    1. Will I be able to join my husband in Japan

    2. What are the required documents from start to finish.

    3. Is it possible for me to process AOS overseas

    4. Is a military base overseas considered US soil

    5. Lets say everything is finished, what do I need to get back into the US when he PCS.

  7. Why not ask your girl to forward the email to you so that you can know if a notary is a must? As far as my interview went, only resume with an English translation is needed when being asked of. Good luck.

  8. As far as i know, he can file I 129f even he is overseas, since he is military.. If you get approved i think you will fly where he is stationed and get married there, since he is military his station still considered as US soil.. Please someone correct me if i. Wrong ?

We filed I-129F when he was still in the States. And as to getting married where he is stationed, I am not sure about it,but if we could, that would be the best, so we dont have to fly to the States.

  9. In regards to getting permission, I'm not sure.

You're applying for k1 visa right? But he's moving to japan later this year. How are you planning to do this? Both fly to America to get married then then both move to Japan? Sorry I'm really confused. It seems like a lot of work. It'd be easier if you guys got married then he petitioned for a spouse visa instead. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done with the k1 visa after you get married

Yes, we are,and I have done the visa interview already.Only wait for the background check of my CCP memebership. We planned to fly to America to get married and then he starts the papers to get me on his orders so that I can fly to Japan later.

  10. Hi everyone,

I am newbie here. My fiance and I are going thru K-1 processing. He is a US airforce personnel. Is there anyone who knows what my fiance needs to do about marrying to a foreign national, especially being a military personnel?? Does he need to get some kind of permission from his commander to state that he is allowed to marry to a foreigner? My fiance has been asking around, yet got nothing. And what's more, he is now depolyed in South Korea, and will be flied to Japan in June about. In such case, what we should do would be the best? We planned to get legal marriage papers done in the States ASAP I get my visa.

    Thanks for your help !!!!
