  1. I have 221g also.my interview was last june 10..they said we need to find a co-sponsor because my husband's annual salary last 2013 was only for November to December coz he ends his contract Dec2012 and stayed in the Philippines with me till September 2013.then he found a job and started working November 2013 only so we didn't meet the required annual salary.today I sent them all the documents they needed from the petitioner and co-sponsor.

    From Petitioner

    - Affidavit of Support (I-864) with original signature

    - Evidence of current sustained income

From a Qualified Joint Sponsor anyone

    - Affidavit of Support (I-864) with original signature

    - US Federal Income Tax Return(s) for year(s) for 2013

    - W-2 Form(s) for year(s) for 2013

    - Form I-864A signed by Petitioner and spouse/co-resident with original signatures for

    - Evidence of current sustained income

today I sent them all those docs.the courier said the embassy will receive it on Wednesday. I hope it goes well...I want to know how long the 221g usually takes? I'm so devastated and sad right now because of that 221g.TIA

friend my dad's case too :( AP.. i already sent them the needed documents..they needed joint sponsor i dont know why coz we have enough income(sigh)

  2. OK..... Thank God both the cases show completed as of today. Now just a matter of receiving completion email and interview dates.

For those who have already crossed this step, how long does it take for them to send completion email and interview date? or does the completion email also includes the interview date in the same letter? Thank you.

    congrats!! :)

Case complete 05/30/2014. Interview date July 24th, 7am in Lagos. Anyone have an idea of how Lagos I interview is done? How do I also schedule medical tests in lagos kamorrass hospital and how much does it cist?

Thanks and good luck to everyone who is still in processing.

    congrats :)

  3. Hi, Trooper.

I read your posts on N400 before. I just became a citizen not long ago. Just filed I-130 and got delivered yesterday.

Let`s see how it processes along the way. I`m really confused as well... lol

    * yes uscis will forward it to NVC.. they will send u a notice that it has been approved..u can also check it tru uscis on your receipt no.

    * then wait for your case no. about 6-8 weeks after they forwarded it to nvc.. call nvc @ 603-334-0700 it takes a lot of times to be connected.. once u got your case no. u can check the CEAC.STATE.GOV to fill up your ds-261 choice of agent and pay $88 for affidavit of support.

    * for your parents civil documents here's the link http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html

if theyve lived other countries they have to provide police clearance cert. if unobtainable u dont have to worry about it.just explain it to nvc.. good luck! :)

Thank you for providing that link. I went through it before, but it doesn't answer my questions. What happens after it gets approved? Is it gonna be automatically transfered to NVC or do I have to apply separately?

thats where i got all the requirements needed..it provided there.. just provide them photocopies not originals coz u will need the originals when u submit their civil documents..

  4. Hey guys. I'm becoming a U.S. citizen in 2 weeks and want to start IR-5 process for my parents right after my oath ceremony. I've never involved laweyer/paralegal throughout the whole USCIS journey, so I'm not going to break that spirit now because of one simple reason, which is - VJ :) I'm happy to be over with my personal journey, but this upcoming one is even more important to me - bringing my parents to U.S. I know that probably 1000 people already asked the same questions, and trust me I went through a lot of threads, but there's are some misunderstanding that I need to cross of the list to be sure that everything is correct.

Can anyone please just break down the process from the scratch? As far as I know I have to fill out I-130 for my both parents, but I don't know what else do I have send? Is that what it takes to start the process?

P.S. My parents are currently overseas

I would really appreciate your help and support.

here's the website u need to check and also the requirements.. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-130instr.pdf

u can post on IR-5 TIMELINE

Anyway i send my mom's I130 last april 29, and today i checked in uscis case status, It is in Post decision activity, that on May 19 they mail a notice that we approve this petition! OMG, i feel so lucky to get approve this fast, considering last year when im processing my sons petition it take 7 months to approve and it takes 3 plus months for the case to be transferred at NVC!

I have a question, my mom is a widow, does she still need to submit marriage certificate? Or Death certificate?

Aside from, Birth certificate, NBI, copy of biographic page, visa photos, what else mom need to submit during NVC stage,

    Thank you soooo much!

yes send it along with the civil documents later on.. original ones or certified true copies..

    check this http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html

here are the hotels near st. lukes http://philippinefiancevisa.weebly.com/hotels-near-st-lukes.html

  8. I called NVC and informed them, when I did it. They said they could not "open up" my form for correction. I asked them to make a note of it on my file and I was told to tell them at the interview. It took me over 6 hrs to do that form. I am sure others have made "simple" mistakes also. I did sweat over it though till I spoke with them.

i made a mistake on my sisters surname.didnt put her married surname lol and also the country im now, u.s i put philippines toink!! 2 mistakes!! i told my dad to tell the american consula to have it change during his interview..no big deal!

  9. my case status is READY...it says, your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S Consular section. If you have already set an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. otherwise, please wait until you received an interview scheduling instruction.

*should I go ahead and make an appointment online or should I wait for the embassy or consulate instruction? Thanks

NVC scheduled my dads interview 2 weeks ago..his interview will be june 11th..u may have to call nvc

  10. I have the same question^.

I was planning to download the DS-260 and send the last part to my dad so he can sign it. However, if there's a way to complete and submitting on CEAC. I would much rather do that.

Another question. I'm also planning to accompany my dad on his interview day. Is it possible that they will let me?

DS-260 can be done online tru CEAC.STATE.GOV U can fill up on his behalf. u just need info from him

  11. hi jasmine05, I noticed in your timeline that your dad had his medical before you paid the DS261.... How did do you that?

hi giskat09! i submitted his ds-261 on march 03 and he had his medical march 20th..

Do i really have to MAIL the Choice of Agent directly to the NVC address or this EMAIL thingy is enough? It didn't mention that i have to mail it.

Im a bit confused coz i see some of the Timelines here in VJ that they mailed it.

do the choice of agent online tru ceac.state.gov

  12. VisaJourney and members, I am half of the steps to what to do to get my Visa. I finished my Medical exam today. They gave me my CD and A chart of Vaccination. All I need next is my schedule for interview. Oh my... Who's with me?? Monitoring also the website hoping the calendar will pop out? This is so stressing.

whats the website to schedule an interview? my dad's category is IR-5..thanks!

  13. Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom.
NVC are aware of the list of countries that are unable to get proof of police clearance.
Just write a paper stating that you are unable to obtain it from that country!
That is what NVC advised us to do on a similar situation.
NVC told me to write a letter with "Police clearance for Libya" and then write "unable to obtain clearance from this country as I am no longer a resident and have not been since may 2011.

hi! called nvc on the 17th coz i received a checklist re saudi arabia plice cert.i spoke to supervisor.. he told me i dont need to send them letter anymore coz it has been 17 yrs ago.. its under review.. should i send them letter to be safe? so confuse!! since he told me no need(sigh)
