Hi guys,
I hope you can help me with this.
About 2 weeks ago I got a notification from USCIS saying my case has sent back to them from the NVC. This is after I had already received my green card last September. I'm currently not in the US as I had to leave for a little bit, although my intent was always to go back within the 1 year period.
What should I do? Does this mean they will revoke my green card? What would be my options then? It's the permanent, 10 year one, we have been married for 3 years.
Thanks in advance for your help

Happy New Year y'all!
Finally got our case number! (well we actually got it a couple of days ago but my husband didn't see the email til this morning )
Quick question: The fees haven't changed right? So it's still $120 for AOS and $325 for IV?
-
Just called NVC for the first time...after being on hold for close to an hour they told me they received my case 11/25 but no case number yet. I'm probably gonna call them again after the holidays. She told me to wait 42 days but I guess I'll be calling sooner than that since people have been saying it doesn't take that long right? Just don't wanna listen to that stupid music more than i have to, it's stuck in my head now

So we've been waiting for 331 days now..it's ridiculous. We sent an email directly to NSc and the Office of service center operations today, I hope that is going to help...I really don't wanna set a new record for longest time stuck at NSC
-
Still waiting, it's getting close to a year, maybe they've just lost our petition?
-
how long has it been since you contact them?
around 4 months
-
I'm still waiting too
-
Have you contacted your senator?
We contacted our congressman but never got a response...
-
So we've been waiting for 10 months now, still no approval...What should we do now? I'm seriously losing hope that this is ever going to happen.
-
We are still waiting for our NOA2, it has been 316 days. I seriously don't know what to do anymore, I wanted to file a request with the Ombudsman but they need "supporting documentation" which sounds like we have to send them everything we included with our petition? Problem is, my husband didn't make a copy before he submitted our I-130 so now i don't know how to handle this....
-
My last one was July 30th. They say it's pending security checks.
We put in a new service request today...I guess if it's still stuck in security checks I'd rather know than expect to get our approval any day now....
-
Are you a us citizen ?
no, my husband is the USC
-
I Really though that if you open a service request they would work on it quicker !!! So messed up i hope you get your aproval soon
Unfortunately not...I thought so too at first but then I realized that nothing is gonna make them work quicker
Thanks! We've been waiting for over 9 months, it's so frustrating...
-
Why don't you guys ope up a service request ????
Most people that have been waiting this long have!!! it just doesn't change anything cause they don't tell you anything. We filed our 3rd service request today, I seriously doubt they're gonna tell us anything different this time...
-
Since my petition is pending security checks, should I put in another service request?
When did you put in your last one? Cause I've been trying to put in another e-request but it keeps telling me that there already is a request for my case number.... But if you can, I'd say do it, it can't hurt right?
-
I'm sorry this has happened to you Hang in there!
yes the 2nd part of the process is currently taking about 5 months from NOA2 to interview... most people are looking at around 1 year or more for the entire process.
Cheers!
5 months???? oh jesus...guess I'm looking at at least 15 months -.-

File date 11/08/2013. Still waiting here at Nebraska Service Center under initial review and after multiple service requests. Also got the stock answers of additional background checks, and the 2nd service request gave the even more generic answer of
"Our records show that your case is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time."
PD 11/19
Got that response too (I-129f service request). Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Does it mean the background checks are finally done? Or is it cause it was the service request for my I-129f? Or is it just NSC's new way of dealing with the backlog?

Hello VJ....I petitioned for my husband in Jamaica on Nov. 25, 2013. I've placed several service request...the last one was placed on 7/30/2014. Now I am so frustrated right now, but I guess there is nothing I can do. Everyone else has gotten an approval and I don't understand why our petition is taking so long. Has anyone ever received this response from a service request? If so please enlighten me as to what the result was.

The status of this service request is:
You or your representative contacted USCIS to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.
We have received your inquiry stating that you believe your case is beyond our projected processing times. USCIS makes every effort to process cases within the projected timeframes and in the order in which they were received; however, your case has not cleared all required security checks at this time. We cannot provide a specific date on which a final decision will be made on your case. We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.
We hope this information is helpful to you.
We are also still waiting and got the same response... It's a bunch of November/December filers that are stuck in security checks apparently. Our PD is 11/19.
-
How many of us still waiting for NOA2? looks like dec filers are also facing delays because of security checks.
We're still waiting...There aren't too many November filers left though right? It's mostly december and a few unlucky ones?

Amazing! Good to see you finally got it! I'm still stuck, but hopefully will get out soon. I even see march people getting approved, I don't get it, I'm very happy for them, but super frustrated for myself and wife. My record is as clean as a whistle and I have 0 criminal record, never done anything wrong in my life, so it should be a super easy background check. I'm not sure if they skipped February 10th applications cause I haven't seen a single person from that date get approved! I'm DONE going crazy over this nonsense, I'll just let it be.
It's usually stuck in background checks cause there's someone with a similar or the same name who has a record...not necessarily cause the person they're doing the background check on did something. I googled my husbands name and there is at least one sex offender with the same name. We've been waiting for our approval since November....

Case sent back to USCIS after receiving green card

Hi!
Thank you so much for your response.
This makes a lot of sense but I got the notification that the case has been sent back for review before the 180 days were up (after less than 5 months). Is it possible it might be something else then?
Will I still be able to reenter the US while they are reviewing my case? I always thought that you had to come back within a year, not 180 days but I guess I was wrong
I will have my husband talk to an immigration lawyer though, thank you for your advice.
