  1. We are only married for 1 year and if they scheduled interview in Charlotte we would have to fly there and lose day of work, which my husband does not get. Our local office is 5 minutes from us, but Charlotte is far away. So that is why I am confused. I am guess interview is being waived and that is why it is not in our local office.

So I guess you would get your GC in the mailbox if the interview is waived. That's cool!

  2. Hi All,

Finally our interview is scheduled today. :) It's on July 28.

Is there a topic here explains what paperwork should we take to the interview?

Congrats! There is a full list of documents you need in the interview letter. Good luck

Congrats!!! Finally your case moved. Yeayy!!! I received reply from Congressman's office yesterday and the letter from USCIS stated that our case was forwarded to Charlotte Field Office. That is few states away! My local field office is 10 mins from my home, so I am not sure why there. Also our online status still shows Fingerprint fee received and phone recording says our case is in Missouri. I'm so confused!!!! We did previously received potential interview waiver.

Wow! great news! Have you been married for more than 18 months? I heard if you are married for more than 18 months, you are eligible to get 10-year GC (without condition). That can be the reason they scheduled an interview although you received potential interview waiver.

  3. Not yet. Still waiting...

Have you received online notification at all when they scheduled your interview? Or you only received the letter?

I'm checking the mail everyday now lol.

Yes, I received the online notification that the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. It took about 10 days to receive the actual interview letter in the mailbox after the case was updated online. I signed up for text message and every time there was a case update, I got a text message. Although I signed up for email notifications, I never received anything from USCIS.

Hope you get your interview letter soon.

  4. Do we really need to go through medical again? Aren't they going to consider that we submitted all valid documents before it got expired? hmmm which local offices you're dealing with? Mine is in Denver. I called uscis last week and was told I should be notified in 2 1/2 month (been stucked almost a year from the day I filed) my medical was already expired last January. I asked them about the medical expiration they just told me it's the immigration officer's discretion if they'll ask me to do the medical again or not.. But I hope not ??? *sigh

As far as I know if you go to your interview before the expiration of your medical, you are fine and you don't need to worry about it. Otherwise, you need to take a new medical with you and give it to the officer or they will give you RFE. Again, you can double check with them before your interview. I don't wanna take a risk to be stuck with RFE due to medical exam.

  5. Hi. Thank you. I already submitted an inquiry to the CIS Ombudsman in Feb. Waiting time for the inquiry was 45 business days. It's passed also.

Based on the answer I'll get from the ombudsman my last option is the congressman.

But it's really strange to me that I haven't received any RFEs or something like that but still they haven't even transferred my case to the local office.

I have to start the renewal process of my EAD next month and my medical will be expired in June. GREAT!

And the worst thing is you can never get an accurate answer from any agency about the reason why it's still pending.

    Punchy,

They did not respond about the delay in my info-pass session and they said everything looks good. We are in the same boat and I have to do my medical which expires in June again because it takes a long time to be scheduled for an interview (1-6 months). Let me know how your case goes after you contact your local congressman or senator. Can't wait for this waiting game to be over!! Best of luck

  6. Hi guys. I'm still waiting for an interview as well. We've filed at the beginning of July and I haven't heard anything since.

After 1 SR and 1 infopass, they told me my application was still at NBC.They haven't even transferred it to the local office yet. I don't know what the reason is. What would be the reason for them not to transfer my application? I haven't received any RFEs either.

At this point it's pointless to check local office processing time since my application is not at the field office.

I think all of you who are still waiting, need to know where your application is.

I'm really curious what would be the reason they still keep my application at NBC. Any ideas?

    Punchy,

I was notified that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview after I contacted my local congressman. You can either do that or file a case with USCIS Ombudsman. This definitely makes a difference. I don't know how long I need to wait from now to an actual interview date as it may vary from 1-6 months. Good luck and I hope you hear something from them soon.

  7. Are they going to let us take another medical exam once it's already expired? My status is still ready for interview schedule. But as what they told me they're still working on the February filers that was 2months ago.

I think you need to take a new medical exam and give it to them at the interview. I'm not sure, you can ask them.

I checked that your local office (Denver) has processed April 6, 2015 cases by the end of February. I guess they should contact you soon. My local office (San Antonio) has processed September 2015 cases two months ago and I'm still waiting. :crying::cry:

  8. hey all,

I need some advice here. I filed for AOS end July 2015, got my EAD/AP end Sept, went for interview on early Dec 2015. Interview went really smooth and short. However, at the end of the interview, the officer gave us a letter saying that my file is being held for review.

So, I went for 2 infopass in Jan & Feb 2016. On the 2nd infopass, the officer at the counter told me that sometimes it might be a delay in name check. She went ahead to check...and indeed, my name check request was sent end July 2015, but no reply since. The officer also told me there is nothing that USCIS or I can do other than waiting, because name check doesnt fall under their jurisdiction.

120 days have passed since my AOS interview -- still no news. I am planning to send a service inquiry first to get a response from USCIS.

Anybody have the same experience? Is there something else I can do? Any advice is appreciated!

    Haloha,

Why don't you contact USCIS Ombudsman? They would reply fast. Info-pass is a waste of time as I already had two and nothing happened for my case until I contacted my congressman.

  9. Oops sorry, it didn't say that we will be sending your green card, it did say that we will be sending your APPROVAL NOTICE soon... In my excitement, I misses the word approval notice. :D .. In this day and age, wherein I've learned that TIME and TO WAIT is of the essence, I do so hope that I still will go and get my green card soon. :D

Wow! that's a great news. My case status was also updated this morning and it is ready to be scheduled for an interview. Hooray :dancing:

  10. We filed beginning of July and status is still saying they received application in July. Any people still waiting?

    Hi Pishi-Pishi,

Yes, unfortunately I'm still waiting. I went to info-pass sessions, filed multiple inquiries and none of those worked. I just sent my case to our local congressman to see what he can do for me. This is the only solution for cases stuck with federal agencies. I'm hoping with his help I can have my interview scheduled ASAP before my medical exam expires in June. I recommend you to watch the following video on Youtube.

  11. Hey guys , 2 weeks ago my husband got his green card and approval notice in the mail. No interview like the letter had said .

congrats! Did they update your status online?

I haven't recieved anything from them. I called them last week, they told me they're still processing the February filers. ???

@mina : have you heard from them yet? I haven't recieved any mail from them too :(

Nope! I'm still waiting for interview notice.

  12. Oh my!!! We're on the same boat!!! I'm hoping we'll hear from them soon.. I just hope they'll not schedule me on May. It's my due date ??

Does your case # starts with MSC too?

Yes, my case starts with MSC which is Missouri Service Center.

Mine says the same. Did you ever receive a letter advising interview could be waived? We did.

No, They didn't send me anything regarding interview waiver.

  13. Haven't scheduled for interview yet.. Been waiting since I filed. My current status in the website is still the same "ready to schedule for interview " .. Nothing has changed since.

I filed my AOS early July 2015 as well. My current status on the website is "Fingerprint fee received". I sent an inquiry about my case and they said my case is awaiting an interview. But it's more than 8 months that I'm waiting to receive my interview letter. That's so disappointing :crying:
