My line of work is as a technician in the Automotive field so I can't imagine my back ground check would be as strict as your check being involved in Childcare but I guess I don't know to what degree they are doing the back ground check to so like you said, I just need to be patient! Seems like all I do in this process is 'be patient' ?

I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with generally how long an international back ground check takes for a job? I am currently undergoing an international background check for the job position I have been offered. The back ground check has been out sourced to a back ground checking company and has been just over a month now. When I call my employer they say my back ground is still being checked...is this a normal waiting time or am I being taken for a ride? Any experience would be much appreciated!

Our dates are changed too, to August 18th!! ?! But GREAT NEWS!!! We got twelve (12!!!!) status updates saying that his EAD card is now in production. ??????? Six each for his and Shaun's. What a great start to the weekend! Happy honeymoon, peeps. ?????? They all came in after 10pm. So weird.

Did you ask specifically where your EAD application is? Are they also processed locally? Our rep mentioned Phoenix, AZ last Monday. I was a bit surprised. We're going through Los Angeles also. You'll be way luckier than us if you get it soon. I'm losing hope in the system, and Johan is taking it personally, like they're fixated on him for some reason. our K1 took longer than others also. Maybe it's ME?!

I'm really hoping you get your EAD soon! The way and order they are processed seems to make no sense at all! The thing I find the most annoying is that we payed so much money for this process and in today's modern age of technology you would think USCIS could at least keep some sort of order and give a somewhat accurate timeline of when cases are expected to be approved! I feel for you Tina and Johan. I'm rooting for you guys too!

So how does one contact their congressman? Do we just look at the corresponding congressman for where we live and call? How do ask them for help or what do I say? I would appreciate the feedback.

I just googled who the local congressman was and they had a request for help form on their page. I emailed an explanation to him saying I have a job offer pending and I'm really wanting to work and requested if they could assist me in expediting my case. I then faxed through a privacy page I had printed and signed from his website allowing his team to look into my case. I also faxed my job offer and NOA1 for the I-765

Well I just got a status update to say my EAD is approved and in production! Hard to say if it's because I requested expedite through the local Congressman or not but I'm so happy! I can't wait to start working and my new employer won't have to wait too much longer! Good luck to the rest of the August filers...your card is coming!

Good luck! Ours is still "initial review." I'm feeling very "over it," and am starting to embrace the whole house husband thing. LOL Maybe not having a dual-income household isn't so bad.

Yea I know what you mean but there's only so much cleaning one can do before losing their mind. Maybe I should just accept my fate that the government just doesn't want me to work! ?

I emailed my congressman a few days ago about supporting my EAD to be expedited due to a current job offer I have. I got an email reply from his office today with a forwarded email from the Congressional Unit at the NBC stating they have passed my case onto the expedite team for further review and adjudication. I know it can be a bit hit and miss with this stuff but will be interesting to see if anything happens. I never thought I'd say this but I've never wanted to work so bad in my life!

It seems like August has pretty much come to a stand still with approvals while September fliers are getting approved all over the place...I'm not bitter at all! ?

Got a job today! It's just for the holiday season and not related to my career in any way, but I am so relieved to know there will be money coming in on my end soon! I start on Monday.

My case for I-765 was filed on the 14th of August with NOA1 on 18th of August and biometrics on the 25th of September. My I-485 is stuck on acceptance and my I-765 and I-113 are both still in initial review. Like Tina said, it's very frustrating to still be waiting when many others are being approved after our filing dates.

Yea they are pretty similar! I've been keeping an eye out to see if you get approved for EAD in the hope that mine won't be too far behind!

I'm with you on that one Tina! The more I read Visa Journey and see others get approved long after I did I just get more discouraged! ?

I'm going to contact my Congressman to see if they can assist me in having my EAD expedited due to having a job offer. I know it seems a bit hit and miss with people as to wether it actually works or not but I guess there is no harm in trying.

Has anyone from us remaining August filers had any movement yet on their EAD/AP? Seems processing has stalled abit! ?

Still waiting here too! EAD and AP both still on initial review since August 18 and I485 still in acceptance since 28th of August. Bio was 25th of September. I have a job offer and really need my EAD!! ?

Hey Hojo, sorry for the super late reply. Did you find your answer? If not, yes they do mean to include just a copy of the DS 160 confirmation page with the barcode on it.

We were APPROVED!!! I'm so happy. I can't thank everyone here enough. I'm sure we would've had RFE's, 221g's and way more meltdowns if it wasn't for all of you. You guys rule and I'm so glad we all went on this visa journey together
