  1. well guys, i got a letter from my congressman's office today. uscis states that my case was flagged and needs additional background checks. they also said they have no idea when the background checks will be completed. they stated in the letter that this is a matter of national security...

this is hilarious and complete bs. i'm 24 years old with NO record. i've never been married and have no children. i'm a college graduate and am employed full-time. this is just ridiculous. becca and i have decided to explore our options of me going up to canada. she has a lot of opportunities up there and i can work from anywhere. this has been a huge waste of time.

Sorry to hear that! That is just crazy!! Hope you guys can figure out something! Best of luck :)

  2. What document did he send? I just sent the divorce certificate, I wonder if they want to see the entire decree......anyone know the answer?

it said: submit proof of the legal termination of the marriage. You submitted a copy of the decree nisi. This is not considered to be evidence of a final divorce decree for immigration purposes.Such proof would normally be a final (absolute) divorce decree, death certificate, etc. In order for the legal termination of a marriage to be considered valid for immigration purposes, it must have been registered with a civil authority.

  3. Did you get your RFE in the mail yet or are you still waiting to see what it is? What do you think they need? Wishing you the best of luck.

Yes Gary got the letter today saying that the divorce document he sent in wasn't what they wanted so he has to try and get a 'more official' one.

I know its an RFE but I'm still happy that they didn't lose our petition :)

Best of luck for you too :)

  4. Best wishes to those who are still waiting. I sent my I129F on Feb 21 2014 and received my NOA1 on Feb 27 2014 from Texas Service Center. I just found out my petition has been approved on August 8 2014 this morning on USCIS website! I also submitted G-1145 so that I received NOA1 confirmations from both the email and the text message. But this time, there was no email nor text confirmation. I also checked the case statues on USCIS website in the evening on August 8, but there was no update on that day.

I have also datamined 1053 case numbers around my case number from USCIS website. Out of these cases, only 117 of them are for K1. Out of these 117, only 15 were approved as of 08/08/2014. In case anyone is interested in checking cases around Feb 27 2014, the numbers are:

  5. Friends...I am THRILLED to tell you that at 12:31 AM, I received a text message that my case status had been updated. I checked the USCIS.gov website to find that our I129f fiancee petition has been approved!!!!!!!!! I cannot begin to tell you the joy I feel right now. I am crying, my fiancee is crying and our hearts are filled with joy. I certainly didn't expect a text message in the middle of the night, and am so happy that it came.

Our NOA1 was February 20, 2014. So I hope this encourages others and gives you some hope. I know how hard it has been waiting. Hang in their!

I feel like I must be the happiest man on the planet, and my hope and prayer for all of you is that your anxiety will soon end and you will feel the joy that Linn and I feel right now.

    Congrats!!

  6. Hello everyone! :)

I just got to know that our I-129F was approved on August 5th, 2014 (yesterday) at California Service Center. 67 days since NOA1, no RFEs. YAAAY I'm SOOO happy!!!

    :goofy::dancing:

Now we are starting to gather all the documents and stuff that I will need for the my interview. I plan on moving to the U.S. in October. I feel SO blessed that I will be able to spend my birthday and Christmas already with the love of my life.

    :luv:

Good luck to those who still wait for NOA2. :star:

    Gratulalok!!! :)

Good luck with the rest of your journey . :)

    Evi

  7. Yeah, my fiance is. We've gone through the visa process before with a J-1, so it's not entirely unfamiliar territory. I see you got your NOA1 around the same time as us, so hopefully we'll both hear something soon. Is your petition at TSC, too?

yes we are at TSC too.

It's the Texas service center. :( They are terribly slow. The good news is that once it leaves for Dublin, it goes much much quicker! Check out our timeline and you will see. For the time between packet 3 and 4, that was our delay. It zips by in Dublin! :)

We got married yesterday! We aren't telling people, but of course I have to share it here. :)

    Congratulations Tina & Johan!!You must be over the moon. :) :) :)

  8. guys! I am sooooooo happy! i just for the NOA2!! i think they are starting to process the Feb, so hang in there, its coming!! :)

btw, I sent a email to the head of all the service center expressing my concern about the imbalance between the centers, hope that help to have them pay more attention to TSC.

I am soo happy now, can someone tell me what should be my next step to make it faster? I will be preparing the paperwork, should I ask my fiance to call to make interview appointment?

Congrats! Finally a Feb filer!!! I know there are many January filers waiting but this is a good news for us right???? :) :) :)
