Congrats, patnjac! Like you said, this will be a long journey but at least you've started it! Here's hoping there are no RFEs for you or anyone else on this thread!

Congrats! Also welcome to BA (again, I guess). I'm really curious, do the "CCC" numbers (see http://www.visajourney.com/content/uscis-receipt-number) on your Receipt Number seem to be the working day of the fiscal year when your case was received like it says on that VJ page? This is probably irrelevant but mine is a very high number and doesn't seem to be so it got me curious. Now that I think about it I guess the "EEEE" number also cannot be the order the case was received that day so that info is probably outdated.

So excited to see this thread! Seriously pumped. You can see what's up with my case in my signature. One day after sending the package with our Bogotá address on everything, my husband got a work contract in Buenos Aires, so we're moving back down there next week possibly until the end of the year. Apparently it's won't cause problems for our case-- a forum moderator (RyanH) told me it's no problem to just change the address online to my parents' address back home even though I'll still be abroad with my husband.
We won't receive our NOA1 hard copy in the mail since we're leaving tomorrow to visit my in-laws first before going directly to Buenos Aires, but I've searched and apparently that doesn't matter. The receipt # for our case came with the NOA1 e-mail. I made an online account with USCIS but haven't been able to tell if our case has arrived to the California Service Center yet (we were transferred immediately). Our check hasn't been cashed either as of yesterday, but it hasn't been very long so I'm not worried yet.
Buckle up everyone, cause here we go! I'm so happy to have a forum where we can all support each other.

Thanks! I certainly hope it is a good time to file. Good luck to you too with the rest of the process! (Which hopefully involves less waiting around.)
I didn't sign up for the electronic notification so I wouldn't know about that, but the priority date on my NOA1 is the day they signed for the package. As long as you get your hard copy I think that's all that matters!
What's the file size for your picture? I'm not sure what the limit is but if it's too large you should try re-sizing it or choosing a different one...

It is certainly nice to know others are going through this with me. You feel so alone sometimes bc no one else understands what you're going through and what's all involved. I haven't received my email yet. Is that unusual? They got my pkg Monday
Off topic but how did u guys get your picture on here? Mine keeps telling me photo too large and I don't know how to change it

Congrats on the NOA1, S&A! My hopes are up, too. I am going to re-mail the petition tomorrow. I've also seen 5 months at most of the service centers and I'm hoping for a little less. I think the joy of this website (apart from the wealth of knowledge) is the sense that we aren't in this alone. Hopefully we can all stay same throughout this process.
    Good luck!

Good luck everyone I filed in October 2013 and received my NOA2 after 6 months. Processing times have definitely come down from what they were last year so I should think you have all picked a pretty good time to file!

Hi neighbor! We just got our NOA1 hard copy today. Priority date is April 2, and it was sent to NSC which is currently reporting 5 months processing time... I didn't want to, but I've gotten my hopes up. I'm hoping for no RFEs, but after all the things I have read here I think you never know. It's really a million things you need to keep track of. Best of luck!

Hi there. I too am an April filer. Sent mine off last Friday the 4th. It was signed for on the 7th but have yet to receive an email . I'm sorry you forgot your pics but I can certainly understand it. The whole process is so daunting. I didn't write N/A in the extra boxes where you put other relatives you're petitioning for. All I put was my spouse in box 1 bc he's the only one I'm applying for and I've since read that I shd have put N/A In all the extra places. I'm hoping it doesn't warrant an RFE but if it does, oh well. Frustrating, yes but what can I do.
I wish us both luck. It's going to be a long and bumpy ride!

Well, I've just realized that I made a mistake and didn't send the passport photos with the G-325As. I needed to buy plastic bags to send them in and forgot to do so in the chaos of rushing to the FedEx office to send out the petition.
Based on some research, it's best to wait for the RFE requesting the photos instead of mailing them out now without a form. I know it's not a big deal and will only cause maybe a month delay in the processing, but it just feels so dejecting. A few months of planning and putting all the documents together in perfect order and such a basic oversight tripped me up. I was so worried about printing quality and font size... OK, I'm done feeling bad for myself.
I hope everyone has great luck!
