  1. Soo, I had my interview yesterday! It was really short and lame :D they didn't ask like anything! Only some basic info from me like name address date of birth etc.. Only asked for a copy of our marriage certificate. They didn't ask anything from my husband, not a single question! Also we didn't need to provide any evidence of our marriage which I was kinda mad about because we had spent a lot of time collecting all the evidence, printing pics, taking copies etc!

But I won't complain, because I was approved!

I wasn't approved on the spot though, the officer said he has to make sure my medical exam is ok because at the time of the interview my medical was older than a year. ( I did it last year in august for my K1), and it was still valid in May when I applied for AOS/EAD/AP so I was kinda freaking out about that if I need to go get a new one because it's not cheap! Also I thought it doesnt really make sense for me to have to get a new one, it was valid when I applied and I can't do anything about it if their processing times are so long that my papers go "old".

But luckily, today morning I got a text that my status had changed to card/document production! I am so happy :)

  2. I was surprised I already got an interview date because St Paul office in MN seemed to be one of the slowest ones! When I checked their processing times a couple weeks ago they were still doing interviews from like december 2013. And now I already got a date, nice surprise though :)

We got back from Finland little over a week ago, now Im looking for jobs. Just had a job interview today that went well, hopefully I get the job!

How is every one else doing, and people with EAD's, did you find a job easily?

  3. Hi everyone,

no news on my AOS yet either, my case moved to testing&interview almost 2 months ago though.

We just got back from my home country, we had our church wedding there, it was awesome!

No problems coming back with AP, the guy at the passport control was very nice. Just asked normal questions about where we were and for how long. Then he said just wait a bit and you will get a stamp to ur passport in an other room. Someone came to get us to the other room and I was prepared for an interview, but they asked nothing, just brought me my passport with the stamp on it :) i'm so happy!

Now i'm looking for jobs, trying to get one asap!

  4. All the very Best for your job interview tomorrow.

Btw, did you get your interview date for I-485. My case status changed to Testing & interview on 30-June-2014 but no interview date yet. Kinda getting anxious as someone might have forgotten about my case!!

    Thank you!

No, I never got an interview date yet :(

Mine changed to testing&interview on july 2nd.

I guess st paul, mn offices is one of the slowest ones, so i probably have to wait a while to get an interview date... at least i have my EAD/AP.

I also went to apply for a SSN on friday, hope to get it soon :)

  5. Thanks for the help.

Yeah I could go get it in NYC, but I would have to go to the embassy to new york city which is not the closest place to minnesota :)

And now that i'm actually going to finland, might as well just get it there, simpler and cheaper!

I will just have my old passport and new passport with me, AP, marriage certificate, and my finnish drivers licenses, the one with maiden name and one with married name. Just so I have proof of the name change! Hopefully everything will go smoothly for me.

  6. Yeah I called the airline, they wont change the name.

But I have to get a new passport now when I go to my home country because my current passport(with my maiden name) is expiring in May and i wont go to finland before then again.

Would it be ok if I just showed my new and old passports along with marriage certificate? Just to prove that my name used to be the name I have on my flight ticket?

Also, Do I need to do ESTA when travelling with advance parole?

  7. Hi everyone,

I received my EAD/AP this week, and we are travelling to my home country next week with my husband. He is coming there a week later tho but we are flying back to the US together.

I was wondering what forms should I bring with me? Obviously the EAD/AP card, but should I bring some NOA's or something?

Also, is this ok, I bought my flight ticket with my maiden name since I have that name on my passport. But while I'm visiting my home country, I will be getting a new passport there with my married name and then change my name on my return flight to be with my married name. Does this sound like a good idea? I will bring my marriage certificate with me just in case.

    Thanks in advance for helping!

  8. Today i finally have the combo card in hands! feels amazing! we are travelling to my home country next week to have our wedding celebration there!so excited!

i hope you all hear from USCIS soon!

i still dont have an interview date, but st paul office in minnesota seems to be one of the slowest.... oh well.

btw, my ead card was sent to my old address even tho our lawyer told our new address to uscis once and we did it again because they still had our old address 2 weeks ago. and they still sent it to the wrong address... oh well luckily my husbands parents live there so they just sent it to me :)

  9. Ugh not happy with USCIS again.. Our lawyer changed our address early June, I changed it 2 weeks ago for EAD/AP because USCIS still hadnt changed the address for those. Today I called USCIS asking where they are sending the card, AND they still had my old address on file even though it has been changed twice now!!!!!! I'm so mad!

Anyway, today morning I got an email saying they mailed my card, right after that my same status changed to post decision activity. Which is kinda weird?

So I had also ask USCIS for my tracking number because I couldnt see it anywhere

  10. Yeah Idk whats up with my EAD, this is juts ridiculous. I should already be getting it! This is getting way too stressful :( :( :(

I am aslo getting sick with the customer service, I called today morning, the person who answered would not transfer me to the next level. And also couldnt get her computer working, she told me to call back in 30 minutes, I called back right away and someone else answered and transferred me right away.

But then in 1.5 hours when someone called me back, the person didnt even know english! he would not understand my question! so frustrating!!!!!!!!

now i called again and requested a transfer, but now i have to wait 2.5 hours go get a call back. Hopefully this time the worker knows english.

  11. Yeah, I would agree. For example - I'm grateful to be already living here legally for the last 10 years but in another sense, since I own a business here, employ Americans, have already gone through background checks, fingerprints, interviews etc for my current visa, you would think someone like me shouldnt have to wait 10 years to get a 'permenant' status. I think each and every one of us has the right to be irritated about wait times and procedure.

Anyway, back to check the mail box again...lol

Exactly! It's hard for everyone, no matter how long the wait is.

I just called USCIS again and asked for tier 2, they said I shouldnt have any problems on my processing, I should be getting my EAD/AP approved soon.

The guy also said, the average to approval from acceptance date is 69 days. I'm already pass that, so hopefully I will get a txt soon about my approval :) :)
