Aww I was hoping it was just the biometrics. Oh well! Thanks for the reply! I'll just have to make myself be patient and wait for the letter to tell us what they need. Here's hoping it's something simple.
-
My husbands biometrics is scheduled for Wednesday of this week (in 2 days.) We just checked the USCIS site to check that our status is still good. It says that they have suspended the processing of our case because they need more information. Is this just about the biometrics? Or is this an RFE? It says they have sent a notice in the mail and the only thing we have received in the last 2 weeks was the notice for the biometrics appointment. Does anyone know if it's automatically suspended before biometrics have been completed? Or is this going to be a different headache?
Thanks in advance.

Ok that makes SO much more sense now! I thought those were things we had to fill out!
Yes, they took his packet at POE. So then there is nothing more we need to fill out as far as AOS packet goes, right?
-
Ok! I just read further into that post that you linked to me Ebunoluwa, and it actually has a mention if we do not have a DS-3025! Doh! Should have read it completely first!
NOW, if we do not need to submit the copy of a DS-3025 because they have the original, do we still need to complete and send in an I-693?
SHEWS this is all so confusing! I really appreciate this site and all of the helpful posts! You guys are the only thing keeping us sane at this point!

I'm wondering if it's the x-rays we're told to give to the CBP officer but that, from the reviews on here, they never want?
Can you not check against a light or something like that?
Yeah we can see through the front and it definitely says "x-ray" on the first sheet. We just weren't sure if that was the only thing in there.

During his K-1 visa interview. They took the sealed envelope of the medical records that was given to him at the hospital when he had his exam (they also gave him the other packet we have now. I am strongly thinking that it is just xrays.)
-
My husband just said that the medical records, etc they gave him was in an envelope. They took that from him at the interview. We are worried that in this sealed packet is only xrays.
Is there a way to get a copy of the information he gave them at the interview?

Ok Shacanus good to know!! That makes me feel better. It wish they would give you a table of contents for the sealed packet so we would at least know what is in there and what we need to fill out!

My husband never received a DS-3025. He has his "yellow card" the immunzation record and a sealed packet. But the other sealed packet was taken from him and he never received a DS-3025. Does this mean we have to have him examined again? We are very short on time and needing to file asap.

We are in the process of filing for AOS and have a question about the I-693 form. We have a sealed envelope from the medical examiner (from October of last year) but we aren't sure if that's all we need. It says that if you had the medical exam within the last year you do no have to have a new exam, but we aren't sure what is in this envelope - whether it is what is all that's needed or not. It is sealed and we do not want to open it in case it needs to remain sealed. My husband gave another sealed envelope in the packet when he arrived.
Also, even if this IS all we need for the medical exam part of the AOS, do we still fill out the I-693? Or is its use only to request a new exam?
I hope these questions make sense. Thank you for any response!

Welcome to America! I'm from Tennessee (right next to N.C.) and I agree that the weather right now is great!

Ok thank you both!! Changed it with the USCIS with the online form! Whew!
Thanks again!

We are in the middle of filling out our paperwork for the Adjustment of Status from my husbands K-1 visa. We have moved to a new house (only up the street.) Who do we contact about this change of address? Or do we just put the new address on the new forms?

My husband arrived here in the States in April on a K-1 visa. We got married May 16th. Now, we have no idea what to do next! I thought I had everything figured out, but I've confused myself with the paperwork names and visa names, etc and am so worried we will apply for the wrong thing or something. Can anyone just point us in the right direction?

The non USC is male. We will go ahead and apply for it next week then I think. Thanks everyone for your input! It is very much appreciated!

Ok thanks! We were just wondering because we have SO much to do before the wedding (less than 2 weeks) so we were trying to figure out what HAS to be done now and what can wait.
Thanks for all your responses!

My fiance was approved in December and arrived in the US 2 weeks ago. We are looking at getting him an SSN number, but is that necessary for the AOS or is it just something handy to have? It seems that you don't need one for the marriage license or to get health insurance....so is it solely for AOS later?

I've read and reread your story as well as all every comment.
All you can really do is divorce your wife (the one you married simply to stay in the country....THIS is why people are calling you a fraud, btw. even if you were forced.)
After you divorce her, there's nothing you can really do to stop her from reporting you. I would definitely take the advice of some to beg for mercy from your father. Maybe he can help in some way.
You can try and marry the girl you actually love, but it will be difficult to turn that into a greencard considering your history.
Me telling you all this is not judgement. It's just the truth of the situation. Actions have consequences, and although it's not what you want to hear, you might have to go back to the Philippines. Sometimes we cannot escape our mistakes and our bad decisions. And that sucks, I know.
Other than to tell you to hire a good immigration lawyer, there's not much else we can all tell you to do. It seems you are waiting for someone to give you a miracle answer, and unfortunately, there isn't one.
I wish you luck and hopefully you can turn the mistakes you made in the past into something better for the future.

His bank only allows 15k per year to be transferred internationally and the Western Union doesn't allow the sending of funds from Ghana. We will just do the proof of origin and the forms at the POE. Thanks everyone for responding though.

Oh ok! Yeah I'll have him bring some proof of where the money comes from just in case. It's been a long year+ waiting for all this, wouldn't want something to happen right at the 1 yard line! Thanks for the response!

We recently were approved for the K-1 visa, and my fiance is wrapping up his businesses there for his move here. He is and will be the main "breadwinner" for our new family. My question is, he will be bringing quite a bit of money with him when he comes here, so is there anything he needs to bring as far as paperwork for customs? I know if it's over 10k they will want to ask questions, we just don't know what questions or what paperwork he may need as proof that the money is legit, etc. Does anyone know or can point us in the right direction?

It seems the majority of cases at the Ghana embassy are being given AP. My fiance and I were lucky as we got approved, but most people I have talked to on here have been given AP with 'will call.' I hope your wait time is short and you all are approved soon! Hang in there!

Reading all of these posts, I am feeling very lucky. My fiance had his first interview today and it was approved. She did ask a lot of odd questions (in my opinion) but luckily we had all of the paperwork and evidence there. I pray that you guys have better luck in your next interviews and that you get the visas asap! Love to you all! This process is so rough!

Congratulations!! The Ghana consulate is so incredibly tough! We were lucky enough to be approved for my husbands K-1 through it in December. I really think that the confidence you mentioned is key. They asked him some really odd questions and 90% of them were about me and my family...checking to see what all he really knew about me. Honestly I think that a lot of it is decided before the interview even begins.
But anyway, sorry for the tangent lol I am very happy for you and your spouse! GBU!
