  1. Congratulations!! The Ghana consulate is so incredibly tough! We were lucky enough to be approved for my husbands K-1 through it in December. I really think that the confidence you mentioned is key. They asked him some really odd questions and 90% of them were about me and my family...checking to see what all he really knew about me. Honestly I think that a lot of it is decided before the interview even begins.

But anyway, sorry for the tangent lol I am very happy for you and your spouse! GBU!

  2. My husbands biometrics is scheduled for Wednesday of this week (in 2 days.) We just checked the USCIS site to check that our status is still good. It says that they have suspended the processing of our case because they need more information. Is this just about the biometrics? Or is this an RFE? It says they have sent a notice in the mail and the only thing we have received in the last 2 weeks was the notice for the biometrics appointment. Does anyone know if it's automatically suspended before biometrics have been completed? Or is this going to be a different headache?

    Thanks in advance.

    Stephanie and John

  3. Ok! I just read further into that post that you linked to me Ebunoluwa, and it actually has a mention if we do not have a DS-3025! Doh! Should have read it completely first!

NOW, if we do not need to submit the copy of a DS-3025 because they have the original, do we still need to complete and send in an I-693?

SHEWS this is all so confusing! I really appreciate this site and all of the helpful posts! You guys are the only thing keeping us sane at this point!

  4. We are in the process of filing for AOS and have a question about the I-693 form. We have a sealed envelope from the medical examiner (from October of last year) but we aren't sure if that's all we need. It says that if you had the medical exam within the last year you do no have to have a new exam, but we aren't sure what is in this envelope - whether it is what is all that's needed or not. It is sealed and we do not want to open it in case it needs to remain sealed. My husband gave another sealed envelope in the packet when he arrived.

Also, even if this IS all we need for the medical exam part of the AOS, do we still fill out the I-693? Or is its use only to request a new exam?

I hope these questions make sense. Thank you for any response!

  5. I've read and reread your story as well as all every comment.

All you can really do is divorce your wife (the one you married simply to stay in the country....THIS is why people are calling you a fraud, btw. even if you were forced.)

After you divorce her, there's nothing you can really do to stop her from reporting you. I would definitely take the advice of some to beg for mercy from your father. Maybe he can help in some way.

You can try and marry the girl you actually love, but it will be difficult to turn that into a greencard considering your history.

Me telling you all this is not judgement. It's just the truth of the situation. Actions have consequences, and although it's not what you want to hear, you might have to go back to the Philippines. Sometimes we cannot escape our mistakes and our bad decisions. And that sucks, I know.

Other than to tell you to hire a good immigration lawyer, there's not much else we can all tell you to do. It seems you are waiting for someone to give you a miracle answer, and unfortunately, there isn't one.

I wish you luck and hopefully you can turn the mistakes you made in the past into something better for the future.

  6. We recently were approved for the K-1 visa, and my fiance is wrapping up his businesses there for his move here. He is and will be the main "breadwinner" for our new family. My question is, he will be bringing quite a bit of money with him when he comes here, so is there anything he needs to bring as far as paperwork for customs? I know if it's over 10k they will want to ask questions, we just don't know what questions or what paperwork he may need as proof that the money is legit, etc. Does anyone know or can point us in the right direction?

  7. Reading all of these posts, I am feeling very lucky. My fiance had his first interview today and it was approved. She did ask a lot of odd questions (in my opinion) but luckily we had all of the paperwork and evidence there. I pray that you guys have better luck in your next interviews and that you get the visas asap! Love to you all! This process is so rough!
