  1. They are talking about the I-864A, not the I-864, and they did state what part the checklist told them was incorrect. Part 2 #13(sponsor's promise) and Part 3 #15(household member's promise). I understood and as I answered them, they needed to put a 1 for the number of immigrants, as that part of the I-864A asks you to indicate a number. They had mistakenly put the letter 'a' there instead of a 1.

Thank you so much for ur reply. :)

As KayDeeCee said, put a number 1 listing the total amount of immigrants being sponsored.

    Thank you :)

  2. Hi, i hope someone could help me with this one,.. My cousin received a checklist with regards to the i 864a on the part 2 which is the sponsors promise and on the part 3 of household members promise...Im not sure if this is a true checklist or a false one. This is what we did, we wrote the name of the intending immigrant on the box provided with the date of birth, and then on the upper part where there is a blank line I just wrote there (a) as well as on the hosehold members promise i also wrote the letter (a) on the blank line. And on the checklist it was said that the number of intending immigrant in part 2 and part 3 of i 864a is incorrect.

So, you think i should have written number (1) instead of letter (a). So confused, hope somebody would answer. Thank you so much.

  3. Hi hope this thread is still alive. Honey when did you receive your visa? I'm in the exact situation as you were. Hope you reply asap. Thanks :)

Making your experience my basis cause I'm starting to get worried here.

From the time that it was issued which is july 2, i then received my visa last july 8. If it showed issued already u just have to wait for a week i guess just like mine. good luck and God bless your journey! You'll have it soon.

  4. hi congrats thanks for sharing your situation...I'm happy your visa is already issued...when was the last time u checked it?? I hope mine will be over this week..and will be as happy as u are...Godbless

Hi sis, I checked it yesterday june 30 and it says issued. this morning i checked again and was updated again july 1, it says READY.this made me worried a bit. So what i did was i keep on checking it from time to time until 4pm today, finally it was back to ISSUED. Thank God! Yeah i hope yours will be issued too this week.

  5. hi. I was interviewed june 10 2014..the CO told me all my docs are ok and took my passport except to my Petitioner's AOS so before they approve my visa we have to send them some docs or find a co-sponsor.Because my husband's annual salary last year was only below the poverty line.because he was living with me here in the Philippines from Dec2012 to Sept2013 so he started working Nov2013.his annual salary covers only the month of Nov and Dec 2013.we didn't know they will base the capability of the petitioner to sponsor a visa to their last year annual salary and ITR although the petitioner is currently working and capable to sponsor for his wife.earning above the poverty line.so the CO gave me 221g written below:

    From Petitioner

    - Affidavit of Support (I-864) with original signature

    - Evidence of current sustained income

From a Qualified Joint Sponsor anyone

    - Affidavit of Support (I-864) with original signature

    - US Federal Income Tax Return(s) for year(s) for 2013

    - W-2 Form(s) for year(s) for 2013

    - Form I-864A signed by Petitioner and spouse/co-resident with original signatures for

    - Evidence of current sustained income

we did it and find a co-sponsor who's earning 65,000 annually with 4 household including me.and gave them my husband's employer's certificate proof that he just started working last Nov2013.letter from him why he didn't earn enough last year...his proof of assests and his latest payslips...for the co-sponsor..his US passport copy...W2..ITR...latest payslips and their 1-864 and I-864A with their original signatures. .I sent yesterday to the embassy...I want to know does anybody experienced it and how long they get their visa after they sent the docs..I'm so devastated and disappointed right now why we paid the NVC for reviewing our docs and yet they didn't advice us about this.it should be done before the interview if they even tell us we need this.

Hi, we have d same situation. I was also interviewed last june 5 and just like you i was asked to submit an AOS forthe joint sponsor before visa issuance. Its because my husband's current income was also below d poverty line but we used for supplemental income by then but still they didnt consider it. I also felt devastated at that time, i just have to be strong though for my hubby coz he's been feeling so down that time.

I submitted my docs last june 17 and my case was updated june 20. Then upon checking it was updated again last June 27 but still on AP and felt depressed that time coz it was updated and yet still on AP. Fortunately, i checked again a while back and finally it was issued.hoping to have my visa on hand SOON. I am also hoping than yours will be issued too soon. Lets hope and pray that we'll get through this journey... God bless

  6. Saylin, pls enlighten me with this.im having a problem with regards to the beneficiary name.its bcoz my husband unintentionally wrote my maiden name on the form I-130. But all my documents like the passport and everything else were all on my married name..would it affect our case? We tried to call nvc but since our case is not yet on their system, they cant give us any response abt it for now.. Im so worried

  7. Let's say he hadn't come to visit you, would his current income be over the guideline?

Yes he can use assets to make up the difference.

Yes, his income would have been more than the guideline thats what he has told me.

    Thank you NLR

another one, is there any specific amt of his assets for him to cover up the difference?

  8. Hi im a newbie here..

Just wanted to ask regarding the annual income tax. My husband just got his w2, and his recent annual income is $19187. Based on the poverty guidelines, if im not mistaken if there are 2 in the household only it should at least be $19,387. His previous income was more than $20000. It so happen that last 2013 he was here in the Phils. for more than a month thats why his income goes down as it was shown above.

Is there any way for us to file the AOS even without joint sponsor? Can he use his bank accounts and 401 as part of liquid assets as a proof that i wont be a public charge to the US Govt? Or do we really need to find a joint sponsor.

    Thank you..
