  1. Congrats!

congrats, what questions were you asked?

Hi C&A, congrats!! I have my interview in 3 weeks, can you tell us which documents you had to show and what kind of questions they asked? Also, has anyone used the AP permit to enter the country? Leaving on a trip next week and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice. Thanks!

    Thank you!

    Questions asked:

-When and where did you meet?

-Can you describe this first meeting?

-How did you make the relationship work since it was long distance?

-When and where did you get engaged?

    -Who proposed to who?

-When and where did you get married?

-Did you meet each others families? If so, where and do you have any photos?

-How much money did you bring into the USA (petitioner)?

-What do your parents think about you moving to the USA? (petitioner)?

-Did your families attend your wedding? If yes, who attended? If no, why not?

    -Where have you travelled together?

General questions were also asked to both like:

    -What is your full name?

-What is your date of birth?

    -How old are you?

-What is your social security number?

    -What is your phone number?

    -What is your current address?

-What are your parents names? If you have siblings, what are their names?

-Are you currently working? If yes, where and doing what?

-Petitioner was also asked all the yes/no questions about being a terrorist, criminal etc

    Documents asked to show:

    -Interview notice letter

    -Passports

    -Drivers license (USC)

    -EAD/AP card (petitioner)

    -Birth certificates

-Medical vaccination record (even though we already submitted this in the AOS package)

-Certified marriage certificate (we also already submitted this in the AOS package)

-Beneficiary's employment letter and most recent pay stubs (also submitted this in the AOS package)

-Photos of being together and photos with each other's family

-Proof that we live and co-habitate together (joint bank accounts, joint lease, joint utility bills, joint phone bills, joint health insurance, joint tax transcript)

It was a very thorough interview (1 hour) and i'm glad we were so well prepared. We believe she was a manager because other officers were coming into her office asking her to sign and approve paperwork. After the interview, she said goodbye and she did not give anything away. A few hours later our case status was updated on the USCIS website to approved and card ordered.

  2. We're still completely confused.

What do most married couples do in our similar financial situation?

We are not doing the itemized deduction and I would prefer more money in my pay checks now then receiving a bigger return at the end of the year (we need the cash now and I enjoy saving).

  3. I am a married alien with an EAD waiting for my green card (no kids). I earn $34,000/annum and my US spouse earns $56,000/annum.

What should I put for Q3 on W-4 (married or married, but withhold at higher Single rate)?

And what should I put for Q5 on W-4 (Total number of allowances you are claiming?)

    Thank you.

  4. Just got this. So excited!

    Interview Is Scheduled

On February 19, 2015, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number. Your interview is on March 24, 2015. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by March 21, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  5. You can also apply to expedite your EAD if you have a job offer letter and can demonstrate that you and your fiancé would experience extreme financial hardship (if your fiancé earns little income, send photocopies of most recent pay stubs).

If your expedite is successful, it could take around 60 days to receive your EAD.

  6. We sent our EAD on November 21, 2014 and today got told that the EAD is approved and being sent in the mail (meaning I will receive it sometime next week).

It takes about 90 days from applying to receiving the card.

You can't work for them once you arrive in the USA, online or not.
