Ah I thought they may be. Government gave employees an extra day off today. Hubs is still in bed. Lol
Does your ELIS still say accepted?
My hubs had to go back to Australia, so he is currently sleeping now too. When we chat tonight, I'll have to find out his elis account info because i can't find it. I'm hoping that will give us some idea.

USCIS.
Did you pay the ELIS immigrant fee?
yes at the beginning of September. I just called uscis and the tier 2 folks are on holiday!
-
Check your ELIS? Was the card produced but not delivered? Or is it still on accepted? Call the uscis and speak to a supervisor.
nlr, should i be calling the nvc or uscis?
Thanks

Hi fellow green card arrival waiters-
We were approved on Sept 2/2014 and our POE was Sept 9th. My husband has still not received his card in the mail.
Who should i call at this point, as we are going on 4 months.
Thank you.

I guess BCOZ made a liar out of me... Blame NVC for the inconsistency and get your souls back together my Dark Lord.
-
Passport will be back in my hands tomorrow! Not bad with just having the interview last Friday!
Congratulations!!!
We are in the sunshine state too.
Our POE was Honolulu... The immigration officers were amazing and made up for all the bs of NVC/USCIS.

Our interview was easy but we could hear the guy on the other side of the partition being grilled. I gather he'd previously had a green card, overstayed the expiry without renewing, and was applying again. By the sounds of it he also had a criminal record, was unemployed, and couldn't provide any evidence for the assets he'd listed.
I think if you've followed the instructions on VJ each step of the process then you should be fine. That being said, some cases will always be more straight forward than others so can't hurt to prepare for the worst.
Well said.

Hey ya'll here's the case Complete to Interview thread. Hey Saylin girl how you dong. We still standing hehe

Woo, updated the first post!
Doing good. Thanks for sticking around and doing the interview threads
I hope I'm not breakin' the VJ law, but just wanted to say thank you to Saylin, Dwheels76 and all the others including (my fellow Aus/Am couples) who have been so helpful through this process. And of course Soloenta for the laughs. This is a very useful forum. Thank goodness for all these folks who are so generous with their time.

One more thing! Jack told me that I would receive an email with my interview date as soon as they schedule an interview date for me.
Maybe there is no reason for us to call NVC to see if we have interview dates if they're emailing our interview dates to us?
Also, even though I got the interview date over the phone, -- it took them 2 weeks to send our actual interview email. Fortunately, we had a little extra time, but it was close.

Austincanada, -- Congrats on CC!!
I called one week after our CC and they had an interview date for us. But I know others have waited much longer. Hopefully yours comes soon.

Interview done this morning and approved!! :)
Really easy, didn't require any of our documents and only asked a couple of simple questions - what work my husband will do, where we will settle, what relation our joint sponsor is.
2 weeks from this moment we will be en route to LAX for POE hooray!!
Congrats!!
We were approved last Tue.
We had a 9:00am appt (arrived at 8:15) and did not leave until after 11:30. They finally interviewed us after the initial paperwork was processed at 11:00.
We found the interview fairly straight forward, but with some clever wording on the interviewer's behalf. We obviously had no concerns however.
I don't think it's as "easy-peasy", as a lot of the prior interviewers said it was...
A guy right before us was denied and it was heartbreaking to see.
And I think it's terrible that everyone's interview is amplified.
We haven't submitted our review yet, but will as they are really helpful.
Safe travels and congrats again (feels great to be through it).

Can this get any worse.
Took my son to swim training at 4.30 am went back to bed got up again at 7.00 am to collect him. Got up too quick, blacked out, smashed head and face against bedside cabinet and broke arm. Am in a backslab for a week before they cast it. Am in so much pain. Can't drive but am going to HAVE to. Children need to get to school.
Hubby spoke to lawyer. They have suggested they call Consulate and see if we can get file sent down from NVC, set an interview and I take this Singapore Police Certificate and original Birth Certificate - because they didn't like my Adoption one - to interview. Don't know how that will go. Can't think straight. Feel dizzy from the drugs. Am so over this. Just want to cry. Sorry for being so down. I am usually really upbeat. Will be back to my old self in a couple of days.
Looks like they are working on July. Our AOS checklist was scanned 22nd July.
msc, that is beyond...
I'm with mobar, investigate why you fainted to rule other culprits out.
Feel terrible for you, but there HAS to be a bright side...
Feel better.
And I really hope you can get expedited.
-
Case Complete!
Scan date was either June 26 or June 30 - we never really got a clear answer on that one.
HOORAY!!!!
Congrats, great news!!
Yes, they insist they review mail in order received, but I think it is obvious they do not. My checklist with one simple correction still not review and received 16/6, scanned 20/6.
Congrats on your speedy USCIS experience! I hope your luck continues in NVC. I have been one of the unfortunate ones stuck in both backlogs, but this whole this is just so unpredictable. Funny to think I could have waited a year to submit my I-130 and still be exactly where I am today. Funny the way it works. I can only hope that forces beyond my control have decided it is not time for me to go yet. There must be something I have to experience, learn or contribute to here first. (Trying HARD to look on the bright side). I try to stop myself from complaining when I realise I am with my husband here, I cannot begin to imagine this process apart. My heart goes out to all of those separated.
Yes lovely, a new week, a new hope. Although you are not expecting anything from NVC news-wise this week, it is still a week ticking by closer to being reunited. Another hope that NVC will pull their thumbs out and get to work. Another week to enjoy the Land Down Under. xoxo
Amanda and msc, -
fingers crossed for both of you...
Amanda you got the shaft, but hopefully Friday you'll hear some good news.

I guess it depends on how much documentation you have. I got a big expandable folder, but realize I don't have much documentation so it seems pretty empty now. I considering doing what you're doing as well. Just dump them all in the manila folder. Seems from the threads that they're not asking for a lot of pictures, telephone bills. chat logs and all that.
I put all the documents required on the interview letter and the courier registration in one folder and in another folder I put extra stuff like pictures, joint back account info etc.. And I put a little label on each folder listing what's inside so I can easily find what I need!
If you can, try to stay away from the straight-up manilla folder. Papers might easily drop from them. I got the folders with pockets, like we used in school but translucent, plastic ones. Back-to-school sales are going on now. So, they are in abundance at the office stores. Also, I got the removable file folder label tabs. They fit easily on the docs while inside the folders and you can put them in different spots on the pages, to make it easier to find things inside the folders. You can also sort the docs into groupings. Like marriage and birth certs in one section, to help make it easier to know which section each doc is in. Put the folders inside of a larger envelope. This will double ensure no dropping . Hope this helps.
Thanks y'all!
Great advice all the way around.
We'll put important docs in one folder (clipped or pocketed), - so they don't fall out!!
And put back-up evidence in a separate folder.
It does seem that they are only looking at the required docs at this point, -- and the easier access the better.
We're still going to bring some of our back up documentation though. Hope they at least look at some of our pics!
-
I m really not coping up with this well anymore. Cried myself to sleep last night. Nvc is making this a torture. Isn't there anything we can do about this? Any complaining or anything? I feel like our marriage is dangling with a thread now. It's been 18 months since I saw my husband. And I really can't lose strength with us being so close to the target line.
Hang in there samreen...
That's a long time to be apart, but soon you'll be together.
-
Hi all,
We are coming up on our interview and getting our documents together. How are people presenting their documents in the interview? We were just going to put the required important docs loose in a manilla folder.
Any thoughts.
Many thanks.

This is how it works if you look at the list from the August 5th bunch you see where it leaves Boston. When we say call NVC and get the date they shipped that' not the DHL date. NVC sends bundles to Boston. It's only when DHL scans into their system in Boston the date cloak is stamped. Usually its 1 to 2 days after the date NVC gives you.
That EXP 05 AUG 2014A has to be precisely on point on order to pull up packages. And than you use a date range usually the day or two before and leave the current date alone.
Now remember just because you see Australia doesn't mean its yours its a guesstimate at best but if the dates line up more than likely.
So probably Monday it will appear and have EXP 06 AUG 2014A or EXP 08 AUG 2014A
dwheels... Hollah!!
You are the best.
I'll be checking and double checking... and then hopefully i can hassle our consulate into an earlier interview.
-
Thank you for that tip!! It will save me from yelling a few curse words at the screen on Monday!!
I'm glad the SSN has already arrived :-)
hi bdrew,
after your interview, how long did it take for you to get your passport and visa back?
-
The only August date that lists any entries so far is Aug 5th (EXP 05 AUG 2014A), and it has no Australia entries. You'll see up to 10 entries if you de not specify the Shipment Destination. Start with that, then search for any specific destination.
Yes, got it. It works!
Thanks Mobar.
-
to any of you DHL tracking wizzards, -- my package left NVC on Aug 6 going to Australia.
I've followed the directions to track and no go. Seems like magic.
Anyway if anyone has it sorted out, will you let me know.
Tanks.

You haven't got the interview email? Have you check and rechecked your email?
Case Complete that is no matter. But you need that Interview email for sure for so many things. If you
haven't you need to be calling NVC. Petitioner and Beneficiary should have both got the email.
Just got the email!

Yes, we both have been checking our emails and spams. No interview email.
And when i was on the phone today finding out if our packet has left, didn't even think to ask where our important interview email was?
F***************!!!!
This is maddening.
-
So we've gotten our CC and an interview date (back on July 30th) and we still have not received the official CC email or the official interview packet 4 email.
Is this common?
Tanks VJ.

It;s too soon. See the In Transit is NVC sending it off. the DHL tracking is when they receive the package from NVC in Boston 2 days time you will be able to use that Aug 6 or it may be Aug 8.
Congratulations
Thanks D!
Will check in 2 days.
I'm assuming it only takes 2 or 3 days to reach destination...
Thank goodness for you, Ms Saylin and all the other members that are so eager to help eachother.

Yes, we are at our ds-260 address, no changes.
So I guess I'll have to wait to chat with husband and see if he had created a login account when he paid. Or are you saying that I should be able to check with the above info without his login info?
