Where does the embassy send it? I am in the US but my fiance is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and don't have P.O.BOX address for mail. I emailed the embassy but no reply from them for three weeks. My case was sent on March 18 and it's been ready since March 24th.

Should I tell my fiance to get the medical and police record done in the meantime? or any advice.

It really is unbelievable. Were you able to obtain a visa while being present at the interview with your wife

The ethiopian guy checked all her documents and passport....he saw that she had stayed in Djibouti for 3 months so we had to get a police report from Djibouti which took over a month....also the American doing the interview asked my wife why we didnt live together or why didnt she live in Djibouti.

I got madd........ this guy was so stupid....first i told him i live on a military base and my wife isnt even aloud near the road the base is on we are not aloud off the base......women in a muslum country cant live alone.

He asked a lot of question that you ask for a K-1 visa ....well i got load and told him we have been married for 4 years waiting for the visa for 3 years....ok i was the ugly american.

but she is in the US now 11-20-2014......she got her green card and SS card after 4 weeks shes getting her drives licenses soon and then she is coming back to Addis.

Oh just remeber if and when you get to the US......the food isnt that good.

My wife and i were at the embassy in Addis in Aug for her IR-1 visa........They have all new people who know nothing and rely on one Ethiopian guy whos been there along time and if he says NO then its no.......dude is full of himself.

Than i will file for her tours visa

My wife enters the US NOV 21 on and IR-1 visa ...now its time to start the paperwork for my mother in law.

What would be the first form i file for her immigration visa.

We were going to fly together but i cant take off work at the sametime so i was going to fly a couple weeks early and meet her at the airport near are house.........The embassy website states i have to be in the US when she get there ........is there any problem with me not being with her.

Ok my wife has her visa and is ready to enter the US...........Me being the petitioner do i have to be at the Point of entry airport or can i meet her at the airport near are house???

renew every 90 days at the immigration office ...plan to spend all day get there early......and make sure you have someone with your that speaks the language.....

Renewing the visa is easy but do not ever let your visa expire.......there are things you will need your passport for they they will look at your visa.

Just remeber your not in the US and a visa matters in other countries......and if something happens you will want to go to the american Embassy and they will ask you about your visa.

Im married to a wonderful ethiopian...........with a US passport you can get a 30 day visa at the airport ....show them your marriage cert and the will give you a 90 day visa for the same price 400 bar.

After being married 1 year you can apply for a non-resident visa that is good for 1 year.....also 400 bar.

You do not need to leave the county to renew any visa

I applied for a visa with the Atlanta Consulate over two weeks ago and have heard nothing. Getting a human on the phone is impossible. I have tried for days. Wondering how long it usually takes (their website said 5 days) and if driving there (8 hours for me) would do any good. I am set to leave for Nigeria on the 29th

I am deployed to Africa and I fly anywhere I want and buy a visa at the airport..............blue passports never have a problem.

I've filed jointly for the last 2 years with turbotax since my wife doesn't have a SS number yet I entered NRA but 2013 turbotax will not let me do this......what can I do without filing an extention.

I cant login to fill out the DS-260 form.....I cant fine the invoice number......can I mail in the DS-230 form.

The consular officer at the interview has the end decision on whether or not to accept the AOS. The NVC simply makes sure it meets the minimum guidelines and that the required paperwork is there.

So are you saying the next contact comes from the consulars office...........??

If everything with the AOS is good to go.
