Thank you for your reply. I do regret not getting my taxes situation sorted out at the time of course, but I do understand that people do report sometimes years of not paying taxes and as long as they are willing to put right and pay any back taxes owed it is forgiven, as long as evidence of communication with the IRS exists, with evidence of Any pay back plan. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

Eligible for citizenship but first year here paid cash for 8 months of the year, therefore no tax return. I understand if I file to pay back taxes this will be acceptable for my naturalization.. I have 2012 and will soon have 2013 . It's 2011 I am missing. Has anyone done this? And what evidence can I provide of these cash payments, as they did not go through a bank account.

Has anyone filed for naturalization while owing back taxes and was it ok to have reported these back taxes and have documentation from IRS? I understand this is what should be done but would like to know if anyone on this forum as done this
