  1. I created a quick spreadsheet for you to use that calculates your wife's income. You can add your own numbers to make the calculations more accurate.. Hope this helps. Please take note that these are rough calculations, and will not predict your wife's exact income.. Your wife may make more or less than this depending on how her employer calculates time and pay... DO NOT use the spreadsheet below to calculate your wife's income for any immigration purposes. Have your wife ask her employer's accounting department for an accurate accounting of her gross income.

    SPREADSHEET TO CALCULATE INCOME

    Best of luck

Thanks, very helpful... From my calculations, she is good to go...

  2. When the time comes to submit the I-864, she simply writes a statement that states why she was not required to file taxes.

After the file arrives at the NVC, the bills that will be paid there are for Affidavit of Support processing and the Immigrant Visa application fee ($120 and $325 respectively). Finally, once a visa has been issued, a card production fee of $165 will need to be paid to USCIS.

Please once again, is it okay for my USC wife to include a copy of her Nigerian passport which bears her married surname as proof of bona fide marriage

Thanks once again for the information...

  4. For a petition submittal, you do not need to include any letter about not working or filing tax returns. Such a letter about tax returns will come later. As for your evidence items, items 1-5 are not bad. Skip the medical report, it's not relevant.

    Correct

Please another question. The petitioner grew up in Nigeria and did not work while in Nigeria, she just returned to US around August and she has never filed for her tax returns before. She is still looking for a job and is yet to get one. How will she go about filling the I-864 Affidavit of Support for her own before adding that of a joint sponsor. MUST it be 3 years tax return?

After the 420$ payment for I-130, is there another payment that will be made at NVC or any other place. Thanks again.

  5. ***Moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures.***

    **Moderator hat off**

"None" is appropriate to write for that section because it is accurate.

Thanks Ryan, please now that we are about to file for I-130, do we need to include a letter stating why she has not worked and has not filed her tax returns.

For proof of bona fide relationship, we intend to include the following document.

1.Affidavit from both parents that's her father, mother and my mother which will also state that we have been cohabiting as husband and wife.

    2. Facebook and whatsapp chats

    3. Legalized marriage certificate

    4. Pictures from wedding and family taken together.

    5. My wife's change of name which was published in a national daily in Nigeria.

Will it be okay? We also intend to include a report from the doctor in MD which shows that she had a bleeding as a result of miscarriage.

Please also advise if the list is good or bad. Thank you.

  9. Please, my wife is a USC, she just traveled back to the states in September in order to establish domicile, since we have been living together in Nigeria for long though with no kids but miscarriage. we will be filing for the I-130 soon. I wish to visit and return back to my country Nigeria while I wait for the CR-1 visa. Should I go for B1/B2 first? Will it be legal?
