  1. Bad news for us. Our congress office contacted us and informed us the following: This case has been identified as a possible interview waiver case and is currently being held at the NBC pending a field office review. The interview waiver cases are being shipped to the local USCIS field offices based on field office capacity. At this time the processing time is approximately 9-12 months.

This has been a nightmare process for us. I hope all you are faring better!!

  2. Congrats to everyone on getting interviews and their EAD/AP cards! My husband and I haven't heard anything at all, no EAD/AP or AOS updates! They haven't answered the inquiry (which said I would hear something by the 1st) and our case for AOS says it will be updated or accepted by tomorrow (Jan. 6th)...hoping to hear something today but I doubt it. Our K1 process was so quick with no problems at all and this one has just been terrible. I feel helpless. My husband wants to feel like he has a normal life and start working and be able to drive!! I feel so bad for him!

We are in the same boat. It's so hard to leave my husband at home when I go to work because I just want him to have that normalcy too. Such a helpless feeling. I am positivethings will get better soon! :)

  3. "Important Information About Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

You can now submit inquiries about the status of your Form I-765 after your case has been pending more than 75 days." - from USCIS website

    You should submit one.

Thank you for the information but we made the biggest mistake ever and didn't apply for the EAD. A border agent at the Chicago airport told my husband he wouldn't recommend it as the cases were moving so quickly. We were none the wiser and didn't apply for one. Can't wait for this all to be over.

  4. Our online status is still "Fingerprint Fee Was Received." So frustrating. Have any of you had luck calling and getting more information? It's been over a month since our biometrics appointment and I see a lot of your statuses changed within a week or two to testing and interview after biometrics.

Also, if we were going to get an RFE, would we have gotten it already?

    10/01/14 - Case accepted
    10/15/14 - Biometrics Appointment
    12/02/14 - Still waiting :clock:

  5. We e-mailed a lawyer and got this response (for anyone who has the same question):

It takes the USCIS 4-6 months to process an I-129F petition. By the time the USCIS adjudicates the K-1 petition, your fiancé will have satisfied the two-year home residence requirement. I do not believe it should interfere with his ability to process the K-1 visa at the consulate when the time comes (it will take another 2-3 months to process the National Visa Center paperwork before the case makes it way to the consulate for a K-1 visa interview). The K-1 visa will definitely be processed/issued after 6/16/14.

  6. Hello everyone,

So my fiancee and I applied for a K1 visa in January and we recently received our NOA1 in February. My fiancee had came here with a J1 visa in January 2012 and is subject to the two year homestay rule. It expires on June 16, 2014.

My question is, will our k1 application be denied? We didn't know that the two year rule applied to all visas for the US, not just J1.

    Help! We are panicking.

  7. Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are in the very beginning stages of applying for a K1 visa. He is a Swedish citizen and we are little overwhelmed by the whole process. Is there anyone out there who has experience with the Swedish consulate? We are mostly nervous about being denied due to finances since I am still a student (graduating in May) and will be searching for a job; we would get a co-sponsor.

Any help, advice, or encouragement is welcome!

    Mariah
