  1. The visa validity date is tied to the medical date. Maybe better take another look at the visa validity date. You may have a passed the validity date for the visa

I checked my moms visa it says iv expire September 2013. She had her medical December 18.2012.

  2. Wow, reading all posts regarding the medical at st.lukes freaks me out.. I'm waiting for my husband's interview schedule.. before he has his medical.. now im worried he might have positive results for the TB test.. . it would just suck big time if that would be the case.. and the sad part is you cant do anything about it.. i had a TB positive before and had my 6 months treatment, but it was here in the US when i did the treatment. I wish they could do the same if TB is latent anyway..

I dont thinki they will give u that option , i heard from friends who had tested positive with Tb that they had their treatment here in the US. I believe they dont do that anymore its either have the treatment at st lukes for 6 months or have it outside st lukes for 6 months treatment + 1 yr evaluation...

  3. Whether the treatment is outside St LUkes or within St Lukes, we'll still need to pay for remedical.

Outside treatment should be properly documented and very important to check on St Lukes guidelines on what to do.

Because treatment for St Lukes, has a series of sputum collection, culture again on the duration of the treatment, and xray on the 3rd month...so need to consider these things when the treatment will be done outside.

If I happen to see a staff that can answer your questions, I will do and send you a message asap.

I am sad for your father, I know he is mad by the treatment he got from this clinic. Right now, my fate is in their hands...so no choice but to adhere their policy.

Running to 3rd month of treatment now. :)

Mercy I called St Lukes last night (morning in PI) and i asked the lady ( DOT? I could not remember the department) but anyway i asked if there are steps we need to follow and she said no it would be up to the Doctor who will treat my father she added after the 6 months treatment he has to fly again to Manila and submit the certification stating that he has been treated and then after that he has to wait another year to be evualuated and be called to re do his medical again.. So in short it is 6 months plus 1 yr.. I asked why 1 yr wait she said its US embassy guidelines which doesnt make since at all...

Keep on going girl 3 more months for u!

  4. Most of the time, staff, nurses and doctors are like that, I remember the doctor who told me the news, its in her body language that she like to shove me away, since she told me my culture is positive. But I really asked her questions, and you know what, when I asked her name, she said they are not allowed to say their real names. I didnt get it.

Is your dad still here in Manila? Tell him try to set an appointment to doctor and inquire about what to do. It's hard to be blinded by this kind of situation.

I remember I read stuff, that the girl started her PTB treatment outside for 2 months and she passed it at St Lukes, its been credited to her 6 months treatment.

No his been back to Mindanao he flew back the same day because nobody wants to give him straight answer. Im going to call later coz today is Monday in PI I will actually ask my husband to call for me see what he can get. i just wanted to know if there is certain steps to follow or instruction from st lukes that outside doctors must follow... St luke has nasty staffs and I believe embassy is aware of that but they dont do anything....

  5. Thank you every one!

Thank you as always MercyRich.. My papa was very upset because the doctor didnt speak to him it was the nurse on the rush and basically just blow him off.. I am very angry because papa flew from Cagayan to Manila and nobody explain to him what to do..

  6. Hi has anyone here underwent treatment outside St. lukes hospital? I really dont know how to start the process because according to my father when he went there yesterday the nurse was on the rush and just told him he is going to have 6 months treatment, my father told the nurse he cant do the treatment at st. lukes coz he is working and he is from Mindanao. According to him the nurse didnt say any details as to what to do if he does the treatment in our local hospital.. I am going to call later but any suggestions would be great.. Thank u..

  7. I thought kc na everytime st lukes call u before the 8th week is positive agad yung result so I feel so down and so as my parents. From reading your post I see a little hope na sana negative kc daw ning pinabalik cya sa December 26 fo the result sa sputum the doctor told him na both pulmonary eval and smear test came out fine and she does not see any reason to get a positive culture but then again doctor told him to wait 8th weeks ... Ay naku lord!

  8. In addition papa told me na his pulmonary and smear test both came out negative so he is just waiting for his culture result na dapat ipa call cya sa feb 20.. So basically The time na yung nurse nag call sa kanya that was the exact 6th week of the culture test.. Im so hoping na it will be negative ....any input? Thanks alot gracie...

  9. usually kasi pag sa culture test, around 3-4weeks may tutubo na yan kung may sakit ka talaga kaya may natatawagan na ng earlier as 1month.. if it reach the 6th week at wala pa ring tumutubong kahit ano.. wala na talagang tutubo dun.. kaya pwede ng magconclude na negative sya.. sana negative ang Dad mo.. i've heard this kind of situation sa nakasabayan ko sa SLMEC and she's negative..

what the result nga pala ng sputum test ng Dad mo?

kasi pag negative then there is also a chance na mag negative sya sa Sputum test..

@ miss mercyrich how many weeks na po ang culture test mo po nung natawagan ka?

Gracie salamat talaga sa info, when my dad went for his medical may cold and coughing cya, yung sputum test nya negative tpos yung first pulmonary evaluation nya was negative then tpos nag taka lang cya bakit cya tinawagan ng st lukes for pulmonary evaluation bali nag sputum cya december 19,20,21 so its about 6 weeks already.. He was asked to call st lukes feb 20 pero tinawagan cya feb 1 to report Feb 5 for his pulmonary eval

  10. When they confirmed to me the bad news, they told me, if i like to take meds outside - 6 months taking meds and another 6 months for them to process/evaluate the said medication. Better if your mom will go along with your dad, kasi when its his turn to talk to the doctor, they will allow the companion to hear the news and instruction.

Yes, its hard to leave everything behind - work, family, friends. Believe me, even we are prepared, when the news is on our face, its so heart breaking.

All that I met, they said, they are living a healthy life...and when comes to medical at St Lukes, seems all went wrong.. Oh well, its a humbling experience...and prayers lang ang panghahawakan natin.

Very true Mery, you hang on there too ok ...

  11. Hello there, if he received a call from St Lukes early than his given date, it meant that his culture turns out positive.

On Feb 05 they will just confirm it to him. I am on my 2nd month of Direct Observed Treatment at St Lukes, and yes, its very sad. The clinic will give a patient an option, take the meds outside or direct with them, but if you will take it outside, it will still be subject with evaluation and will take longer.

So better to do it through them.

Mostly of the oldies and the young alike like me that I happened to exchange chat, they don't have symptoms either, but at St Lukes they saw something. Really, our fate is in their hands and cannot do anything but to heed their order. For the sake of our love ones, we are willing to take this long gruelling journey.

Hang on there, be brave for your father. About your mother, better to finish everything before her medical expires.

Thank you very much for your reply.. Do you know off'hand how long it will take if he take the meds outside st lukes? I would think my father will probably take the med outside st luke because he does not want to quit his job specially now that st luke is giving us hard time..We were hoping that mama and papa could fly together here in the US I feel so bad for my parents.. Very sad , very heart broken..

As of right now I am gathering info as to what to do or as to what to expect in this situation... Thank you all...

  12. Hello all, my father went through a sputum test and was told to call St. lukes on Feb 20 unfortunately he got a call from St. Lukes asking him to come back Feb 5 for pulmonary evaluation. I dont know what that means but I read that when the hospital call you its not a good sign.

Now my mom postponed her vaccination because we want both parents to be interviewed the same day/time but looks like thats not going to be the case. Maybe I will ask my mom to go ahead with her vaccination and go to her interview alone.

Going back to my dad, he has an annual physical/ medical exam for work purposes in fact he had medical/physical a week before his medical at st lukes and he is fine no signs of tb nothing he is indeed a healthy man. Anyway, is it true that if he has to be treated it would be 6 months everyday to st lukes? My parents are from Mindanao and I read some post stating that St. Lukes allow patient to be treated in their local hospital as opposed to having the treatment at st lukes but it could take 18 months??? Hope somebody that went through the same scenario could give me feedback on this.. It is very stressful! Thank you very much...

  13. Hello all,

I am very glad I found this site. I've first met my Fiancee, Katya, a year ago last Friday, through a Russian dating site. The first week of May I traveled over to Vladivostok; but I could only spend a week with her and her son. While far too short, it was still an incredible experience. We just started the VISA process; we are only on the I-129F part. She is having troubles remembering all of the places she's worked over the past 5 years. :)

I am very grateful for the sheer volume of guides, FAQs, and personal experiences on this site. It is very comforting to know so many have been through this same process. I wish I had found this website sooner, as I could have had Katya searching for the proper information weeks ago instead of just starting. I am quite anxious to have the first batch of paperwork submitted. :P

    WELCOME TO VJ......

  14. My VJ account might be new but I am no newbie. I have been here before while pursuing a fiancee visa. Unfortunately, the visa was not granted by the American Consulate in Manila. Now, I am a married woman and will soon go via the I-130 route. Regards to everyone!

    WELCOME PO TO VJ....

  15. This reminded me of an American guy I met in Makati as I was walking along Herrera. I crossed the street and HIs guy, tall, wearing glasses and kinda unruly and thin but with kind face approached me...and I was surprised..he was asking for alms. He said he just changed his shirt (but the new shirt is stll dirty) I talked to him for a bit and he said he needs money to get by and he also mentioned that his wife or actually ex-wife left him for another guy. I asked where he is staying and he said anywhere around and i asked where are his belongings and told me he left them at his friends house and he can't stay there because they are all cramped. He was holding a plastic bag and showed me the Bible which he says he uses to get by...I mentioned about getting a job in the Philippines even as a call center agnt and he said he tried but they wouldnt let him work coz he doesnt have work permit..and about US embassy..he said he didnt have enough money and are still working on his papers..he doenst even have enough for a plane ticket.. handed him a bill and bid him my prayers..wshing there was something more I can do to help.......I couldnt forget him that whole day....I was sooo angry about that Filipina who left him stranded here. After reading this post of Supladita...I am wonderingof the Mr. HUnt is the same guy i met...I hope not..coz I wojld feel soo terrible..wishing there is more I can do to help. I met this guy like last year i think o really cant remember...

I hope Karma would come to those Users here to get a greencard or citizenship. I abhore uer-friendly and selfish self centered people.

I hope Jenalze will be deported back to the Philippines and be banned in the US for life..........

I don't think it was him as he loves his wife so much and until his last breath he does not believe his wife betrayed him. He has so much love in his heart, his last wish is to see his wife and take him back to the US. You can check out the video though if it was him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGVDfS2kOx8

    I think it's him.... I'm in tears.....

  16. Thanks everyone for providing such wonderful information on these forums!!

My husband's AOS Interview is scheduled on 07/07/09.

In our Interview Letter, they are requiring the Petitioner's (my) birth certificate. I lost my birth certificate many yrs ago & would have to travel back to India to get one...

I received my citizenship in 2003, but my Birth certificate was not required at the time w/ my application. What do I do? Will my husband be denied his Permenant Residency if I can't provide a Birth Certificate?

Is there something else I can provide in lieu of the Birth Certificate? Can someone provide a similar experience?

    Thanks again...

    PGM :)

    Hi PGM,

I know somebody who submitted his naturalization certificate instead of his birth certificate and they pass the AOS with out any hassle.

  17. Read my post again![/

Come down, your blood pressure! My B/P is just fine, thank you.

    Good

I really dont give a ####### about speeding up the process.

Not too obvious. What is obvious is you have no clue.

Are you sure it's not you who have no clue?[/b]

I dont want to miss my husband's biometric appointment and be denied because we didn't go. He has been without an actual green card for two years because of USCIS mistakes. We had to send it back because of spelling error, and they claimed they did not receive it even though we had signature confirmation. All he has had is I-551 stamps in his passports and the last one they gave him expires Dec, 2009, so why would we be impatient about speeding up his 10 yr green card
    .

Trust me I understand you, but unfortunatley I don't work for USCIS and I don't really need to know that. All I did was to reply to the OP gave the OP my opinion base on my experience and not to you, that's all.

But you reply did not make sense to any one that was waiting on their bio appointment for many days and what experience are you talking about? Your profile says AOS approved. No one has a clue to what service center you applied, and no timeline. I just dont understand why people go around VJ trying to answer questions when they dont really know what the op is asking. Please, if your "experience" does not refer to the question, just go find a question that does.

So? I didn't updated my profile. If you don't like my reply then just ignore it , stop barking.

The last few people on VJ that received their NOA got their Bio appointment letter with in 3 or 4 days.

I mentioned it already, again I'm not speaking in general but base in my experience and base from what I heard. That it depends on the state and service center , some are fast and some are so slow. Let me know if you want me to repeat that.

I wouldn't believe anything you said, so no don't repeat it.

Who cares? I didn't ask you to believe me, didn't I?

So why do you think we shouldnt be worried.

Did I say that? where? All I was saying was it doesn't hurt to call and follow up.

Why don't you let people that know about our problem answer and leave you condescending remarks to yourself

The OP said that they've been waiting for almost a month and then I said 1 month is not bad of a wait etc etc and what's wrong with that? So if I don't update my profile and I didn't put my timeline would that mean I am not allowed to reply? If you don't like my reply then tough!

    Geesh.

O yeah! gessh to you too... This is the last time I will reply to you. I know you love to play the game, so go on with yourself. But, you will be talking to yourself. I know you want to have the last word!!! go on.....go on.... everyone's waiting.

Now where is that ignore button................ :ot2:...

Game? You just want to hear what you want to hear that's why you're barking (arf2x)
