The passport is all you need; they are just checking your identity for flights within the US, not your immigration status. I would bring the NOA1 and keep it with you, just in case, however.
However, one important caveat is that Border Patrol frequently checks ID at airports within 100 miles of the southern (and possibly northern) border. In my job I collaborate with law enforcement, including Border Patrol, and I have been advised that, even though we are technically here legally, without an EAD card you may encounter delays from Border Patrol depending on the agent.
(BTW, Harpa, thanks for all of your input in these forums. I find your insight and experience most helpful.)

We received a text and email that the our interview has been scheduled 4/23/2014. Best of luck to Wurstbrot_Royal!!! If they give you any problems, just play a few songs on the drums in your picture.

I looked at the AOS Immigration Timelines today and it looks like 2 K1 beneficiaries had their EAD approved yesterday. Both of their NOA dates are 1/17/2014.

I agree with you.... Even if the IO did not like you adding information, there is a way for him to explain that he did not want you to do that. I understand IO's have a huge and important job to do, but manners and politeness cost nothing.
That begs the question. Some people are naturally bully's, but arent these interviews being video taped? I am not clear on why this was a difficult case. What made it difficult? It seems like most of the IO's people encounter are good people and very professional. Being in Business, I have found that sometimes you need to give a little pushback, like the lawyer mentioned above that told the IO not to question his integrity. I wonder if a little pushback would help things or maket them worse.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you guys! Best of luck!!!

Hmm, well I apparently missed your answer.
Yes you did. I want the focus of this thread to be on the problem the OP is having and not my opinions. As an American, I believe that we should be involved in our laws and challenge our government to serve the people. I live close to the border so there are additional frustrations with this process. In terms of Pot Shots, there was only one implying that they "chose" to be in this situation ignoring whatever challenges prevented them from Adjusting Status within 90 days.
With that I will go back to lurking.

Frivolous?
They had the option to avoid the issue and chose not to take it for whatever reason.
Yes frivolous! Are you suggesting they become a prisoner in their own city? Besides, I would hope that people on this community would show them support now rather than taking pot shots at them when they are down.
-
Fixable.
But at a cost. Time to lawyer up.
I wish someone could explain the compelling interest our government has to traumatize this family for such a frivolous issue. It took us six weeks to get our Marriage Certificate. I feel like the people who live near the Boarder in the 'Constitution Free Zone' are unfairly penalized and restricted from traveling because of these petty rules. It wouldn't be rocket science to tweak the rules a little to make their lives easier with absolutely no negative impact. How many people can afford to pay an attorney without notice. I am disgusted and wish I didn't read this.
Best of luck to you guys!!! Please keep us posted and we will pray for a good outcome.

I now have my EAD in my hands, time to head to the office and fill out a new I-9.
Congratulations! That has to be a relief!

Hi everybody, I am also a January AOS filer but new to this forum. Now I am at the stage of TESTING AND INTERVIEW. Does anyone know whether USCIS is gonna send me another email/txt regarding to the date and the location of the interview? If so how long does it typically take from interview scheduling to scheduled? Big thanks[01/25/2014] - Mailed I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131 by USPS first class to Chicago Lockbox
Day 1 : [01/27/2014] - Package delivered
Day 4 : [01/30/2014] - e-mails/txt about receipt of package and receipt numbers
Day 5 : [01/31/2014] - Checks cashed
Day 9 : [02/4/2014] - Received paper NOAs in the mailbox
Day 15 : [02/10/2014] - Received Biometrics Appointment letter
Day 30 : [02/25/2014] - Successful Biometrics walk in at El Paso
Day 38 : [03/05/2014] - Online status for I-485 changed to Testing and Interview
Your timeline is identical to ours, except we did an early Bio-metrics walk in. It will be interesting to see when we get our EAD cards approved to see if there is any value to doing an early Bio-metrics walk-in. This could be useful information to future members.

03/07/2014 (day 63) : text/email EAD card in production
Oh great! I think you are the first January person!

I believe if you need the SS# to file taxes, SSA can issue you a TIN to use for filing your taxes. Or you could still pursue the route of extending your filing time like you indicated. I pray we all get adjudications on our cases pretty soon. god bless us all
I hear that. We live within 100 miles of the Border and surrounded by Border Patrol Checkpoints. When I called them, they said that we would likely get hasseled, but not deported, without an AP or EAD approval.
-
Yeah it changes sometimes and this is based on an analysis of historical data (other peoples timeline data and their dates of adjudications), it then recalculates itself to fit in with the new average. I have noticed that the actual adjudications are usually about +/- 5 days of the estimated time, so it's a good indicator. Good luck
Thanks MaleAlpha. I understand their estimates are pretty close. I guess we are going to have to file and extension for our taxes because at those time frames the SS# will not come in time. I hear its not a big deal to file an income tax extenstion if you send them the money you are going to owe with the request for an extension.

I just looked at my timeline and it looks like they have added 5 days to my estimated EAD Approval Date. :/
-
We did too on 3/5 but I was out of town. I will update my timeline.
Hi everybody.
got a text/email last name updating my I-485 application to testing/interview.very ambiguous message saying I have either been scheduled for interview or placed in order to be scheduled for one.any idea how long this step usually lasts?
Thanks in advance for your reply -
Has anyone experienced Case Status Update-Address has been changed
And I haven't change my address .... ?????
WOW! I would definitely be on the phone with them ASAP. GOOD LUCK!

Hi all! Sent my packet out January 29th. Did walk-in biometrics on the 18th. Still no status change but this thread keeps me hopeful
Welcome Fern! Your 7 days behind us on the biometrics.
-
Did you receive anything yet?! we have almost the same timeline.. by 1 day difference
I am not sure if it helps any, but we sent our package (snail mail) 1/21 and it wasn't acknowleged until 6 days later (but should have only taken three days to get there). Our cashier checks were cashed four days after our NOA date. I was as worried as you guys are, but I called the bank and they gave me the number on the back of one of the checks, then I went to USCIS website to check status and entered the number and was able to see the status before the hard copies arrived. The numbers for the other forms (EAD, AP, I485) were consecutive numbers.
Hope this helps in some way.

What is the 90 Days (30/90/90). We didn't decide to get married until about 70+ days after arrival and then got married the next day (about a month more after the multiple entry I-94), but filed our paperwork over 100 days afterward. Is it 60/90 days after you get your I-94, after your last entrance or after you get married? Also is it 60/90 days until you get married or file your paperwork. Now I am worried. The non-profit agency that helped us fill out the paperwork told us that AOS was our best option but they didn't say anything about 90 days.

I am sorry to hear people are having bad experiences with their bio-medical walk-in's, but there is no need for them to be discourteous. They seemed a bit confused when we did our walk-in, but no one else was there the young lady was very gracious. It may indeed depend on how busy they are.

I am having a second round job interview tomorrow. It'd be amazing if I could land that gig. Can I get some good mojo from you guys?
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Just got my interview letter in the mail. It's getting serious on March 18th. 2 months after sending the packet to Chicago. This is awesome!
WOW! That was fast! hahaha Congratulations!

Pete, it's possible that I'm a hopeless optimist, but I think you're jumping the gun. What's the rush in filing for divorce and cancelling the visa process? I think you are overly concerned with protecting yourself from looking foolish in the end. The visa process cannot continue without your cooperation through the NVC stage, so I'd hold off on notifying them at the moment.
I can't do anything but add to what jenafid said. I would give it time and make sure. In my heart, I hope that it works out for you and she just got the jitters.

I'm so upset. Until now, we still don't have any response from USCIS, and our checks still haven't been checked. Is this gonna take a month before we get the NOA?
Yes, you should be about 7 days after us, so you should get some hard copies soon. Hang in there!

We had our interview today in Phoenix and were approved on the spot. We got there at about a half hour before the appointment and were called in about 10 minutes after our appointment time. Without exception, from the guards, to the receptionist, to the front gate people, everyone was very gracious and kind. The adjudicating officer was also very kind and personable, but thorough. It seemed as if our demeanor and how we interacted with each other was observed prior to the interview.
As a same-sex couple, we were a bit spooked prior to the interview, but now realize we had nothing to worry about. Thanks to everyone for your support and look forward to seeing you in 21 months.!!!!
