  • Our Story
I got married to my husband on 12/10/10. We lived happily & enjoyed our life together with the children. He was in the U.S. on a legal Student Visa attending school to improve his English skills. He never missed a day of school & never violated any immigration laws. On 08/26/2011, he left to Amman-Jordan because his mom was dying of cancer. His mom passed away on 10/28/2012. He wanted to come back but was told by the Embassy he cannot because he has a pending case.
On 07/09/12 I-130 was approved, I was a legal permanent resident at that time. On 08/22/12, we got a letter from National Visa Center requesting some paper work & establish communication via NVC. On 04/02/13, we got an email from NVC with an appointment letter for my husband to go interview at the Embassy of Amman-Jordan. On 05/23/13 my husband went to the interview & was prepared for all the necessary documentation they requested. The counsel officer asked him few questions at end of interview he was handed him 221(g) form. (See attached)
I became a proud U.S. Citizen on 06/27/13, and emailed the embassy in Amman-Jordan so they can upgrade the case. It has been 8 months today and the case is still under Administrative Processing. The 221(g) took place by delaying us & separating us more and more. My husband has been away for 2.5 years, life is extremely difficult & causing me lots of hardship, stress, anxiety because we don't know what to expect next. I am tired of texting and Skype with him on a daily basis for the past 2.5 years. It’s not fair the systems states if you are US Citizen you have the rights to bring a family member or a spouse and the process is smooth and easy, but not in our case, it has been a rough and endless battle. You can’ t imagine how much we fight and argue sometimes because of this distance life , and others days we are in tears wanting one another.
Also on regular basis I have been contacting the Embassy in Amman- Jordan in regards to the Administrative processing and the response is always “pending final approval”. I spoke to an attorney in regards to this matter and he advised me highly to contact a congress or a senator because he stated that you can put pressure on the department of state and make it happen.
