  1. You are 21 months away from the time you get your green card to start removing conditions. Don;t even think about it now. Go to SS office now and apply for SS card if you haven;t already. Keep checking status of your green card if you have already paid your $165 online. Get DL some can get in their state without SS#. It depends where you live.

    Thank you dwheels

That raises another question in my mind..Will she be allowed to travel internationally during the 21 months ??

  2. Hello VJers

We have finally made it to the USA together and our POE was Chicago. My wife's passport has " Alien has been notified of the provisions of section 216 and the procedures for having the conditional basis of his/her status removed" stamped on the immigrant Visa page. What is out next step w.r.t to her working and getting a DL and when do we have to start or next process for getting her a 10 yr GC.

Thank you for all your inputs.

  4. Thanks for the link ShivaniVIvek. I am following all of you guys to come up with estimates. oh this is not helping keep the spirits up! sigh ..... goodluck and keep us posted.

The NVC told me just now that the interviews are scheduled based on NVC CC dates compared i-130 approval told to me by another NVC person told 2 weeks ago..I guess the punishment that is this spouse visa to the US shall continue..I wonder if other countries have it this tough or this long??

  5. Hello VJ members

I would like to get clarification on a matter w.r.t to my wife passport. Her current Indian passport shows her as unmarried status but her PCC show her as married. Should we get a new PP and do the PCC process all over again or should we stick with what we have right now.The Delhi Embassy has this to say as a response to my query a few days ago..

In response to your question, we would like to inform you that you may apply for PCC and attend the visa interview with the valid, unmarked and undamaged passport. Further, it is at the discretion of the applicant whether to re-apply for the passport or not.

And, if you have already applied for a new passport then, we would request you to send the scanned copy of both passports and DS-260 confirmation page with all the applicant and petitioner details, so that we can forward the details to the concerned department.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

In my opinion this is their way of covering their behinds kind of response plus it seem like a ambiguous response. My worry is that it may set us up for a rejection at interview.

    Your thoughts please

  6. Indian mentality what the hell does that mean? I guess where you are from having an opinion on a matter is forbidden. Dont make a rant about NVC into a personal or racist issue, thanks.

Hahahahahaha...Racist issue ..I dont know about you...but i am brown skinned ..? Indian mentality here means .."I am going thru this problem and it is causing me grief and i want it fixed and hence i should not have to anything in regards to that..but i want it done asap"..I have seen back in India too...That is the Indian mentality i am talking about...Anyways ..thanks for laughs...Good luck on ur immigration stuff.

  7. Sorry I don't feel that way. I have seen so many situations where they proved to be completely and utterly unprofessional. Whether be be the rude operator who doesnt want to talk to you and just wants to hang up on you the second they come on. Over a month to pay a fee. Taking 3 weeks to send out a checklist email after you have been notified on phone. Supervisor reviews for simple matters that take 2 months additional to original processing time.

No, I have never seen an organization this incompetent as the NVC, and there is nothing to hold them accountable. This is how I feel, and I dont think I will change my opinion on it. They maybe understaffed and overworked, but we should not have to suffer for it. Fix it!

HAhhaha..Indian mentality...You are free not to come/ bring family to the US.There are over a 200 other countries that can be immigrated to and if you feel that you can do a better job..then by all means join the NVC and show them how to do their jobs. Nobody cares about your opinion and not atleast the NVC or USCIS. You chose this ...now deal with it likes the rest of us...You getting angry or pouting will not move things any faster but it will raise ur BP only.

  8. Not sure if it is . I would think so. The rep I talked to today said that our embassy June's appointments are all booked and we might get July interview but no promises lol. Our cc is April 30. So praying we hear something soon before I go crazy lol.

    Hi Mel&Lal

Our CC was Apr 28 2015 and we did not make the June Delhi Interview list either.I was thinking the same thing and would call the NVC next week and see if something come open for US.I cant to go and get her..the wait is torture...
