Does that help though? My greencard expiry date is May 02, 2008 but my due date is May 11, 2008. Im thinking of sending my application with evidence in as early as possible in february but can I send in my ultrasound pictures or do i need a doctor's note? I wish I can wait until my baby is born but I dont want to delay my application and take a risk.
As evidence, this is what i have so far:
rent lease & monthly recipts with both names
joint taxes for 2005, 2006, hopefully 2007
joint accounts both checking and saving
joint credit cards
check with both names
bank statements with both names
nationalgrid bill copied with both names
masshealth with both names on the card
Plane tickets with both names
Ultrasound pictures of our baby
Pictures of us old and new ones
And, many many credit offers, etc. with the same address
That's it! I dont have any more bills since my apartment offer free everything except electricity.
Another question, does anybody here ever get an interview for removing condition?
-
YOu know what sucks? They kept on sending me visa offers every single day. Once i applied for one, it took them months to approve. Im still waiting for one right now.
-
Why dont you go and do some online cash while waiting for your working permit? I dont see anything wrong with that.
-
To go and to come back from canada, they still ask for my canadian passport even though i shown them my greencard.
-
Congratulations!!!!

was your marriage a ceremony or by law??? mine was at the city hall then i went back to canada, did my traditional wedding then came back. I have no problem getting my greencard. The interviewer didnt ask any of such thing.
-
!!! The card was soo not green. It was white and with a llittle green at the back. Lookk just like EAD card but a bit thicker.
-
that's cool!
I dont know if you've been following our story, but we had our interview done on April 10th. The interview went so smooth (i also adjusted from being a visitor from canada).. But the problem was that our doctor had not checked off the boxes POS/NEG for syphillis and HIV.. The officer told us to bring it to him if we could the next day and he would process everything right then and there (he didnt' say if he meant approval or not though), and that if we couldnt make it the next day, then we would make an infopass appt and give it to the person there and once the officer receives the info, he will send our file to "them" , i dont know who he means....And THEY will send out a greencard
Im affraid we'll go thru another USCIS messup I can't understand why they couldn't RFE us 2 yrs ago about the medical??!?
sowwy, just had to vent
Sorry to hear that. I dont think those USCIS want to let you go. ahaha Did you make an infopass appointment yet?

congratulations!
Just wondering..why is it a 1yr greencard he gave u as opposed to 2??
Sorry if i confused you. 1 year was for my stamp while waiting for my greencard to come within a month.
Congratulations! My Canadian husband didn't have a stamp in his passport at the interview, either. The guy acted like he may not be able to approve us at first, but he did anyway. Glad you were approved, too!!!That interviewer seem very nice. We got him to chitchat and laugh with us. I've heard that others from boston did get approved but have to wait for a second call to have some sort of green paper?? I might be wrong. Thats what happened to my husband coworker. He didnt get the stamp and have to wait for almost 3-5months.

damn, i typed that? i was too happy and my writing was all over the place. sorry, i hope you can understand what i was trying to say.

Let me refresh everyone:
Came to United states for a visit, my husband proposed. Got married at the city hall. Went back to Canada. Did the ceremony wedding(traditional way) came back into united states with no problem at the border. 4 months later we sent out our AOS package worrying that it will be a problem because what i did was illegal(intention to stay and adjust) At that time, i was thinking of abandoning my AOS. thnks lord, i didnt.
Heading out for my interview in Boston 930
Getting up early was always a problem for me especially when it rain out. I would have a headache and needing to go for #2 all the time. That just explains how nervous i am. So i let my husband played songs to calm me down. Since I live in Lowell, getting us to Boston will take us 30-45mins. I have to be up at 6am in the morning. Left home at 7:15, stuck in a traffic for 1h30mins. Right in between, i needed to go to the bathroom for #2. Guess what? the traffic goes on until 9:00am, i was getting panick. Imagine i left home at 8:00am???? Anway, lucky us, no cops around, we hit the CARPOOL speeding. I was running late, what else can we do??? Yup, make it to boston at 9:05, got LOST! My greatest husband printed out the wrong direction to the wrong building. Thanks to this nice man, he told us to turn back, back back then head pass the cityhall. YES, we were running late. By the time we find the parking and all. Running to the building as fast as we could in the RAIN. We were out of breath by the time we found the building. Oh, I did the security check like everyones too, COOL! what a waste of time. Funny, they asked everyone who has their belts on to take it off, so they can scan them too. Time are wasting....I was late and gladly, the lady took my paper in at 9:45am.
My impression of the room after entering into the waiting room was,"huh? thats it? small...where can we sit, no chair?" There were lots of people, every single chairs was taken. My husband have to sit on a broken one. About the cellphones, Boston allowed them?? While i was waiting, phones were ringing like crazy. I was getting annoyed. I was called in i dont know when maybe 45mins later by this nice gentleman. The interview was overall, 15mins max.
The interviewer open the door and let us into the hallway to room#10. He followed us. I did noticed that they followed you to the room. I think they really want to see how close you are, if the marriage or fake whatever. Thats what i think, im so sure.
Went into room#10, sitting on the corner, was a huge, was it huge? camera.... yeah, not sure if its on recording. I was too nervous NOW to see anything clearly. He told us to stand with our right hands up swore to tell the truth. Yup, everything but the truth.
He asked for naturalization certificate, Driver Licenses, I-94. I took out everything, OUR PASSPORTS, my driver license, EAD.
He look at the ID, hand it back. He went through my passport and see no I-94 and asked,
"you dont have any stamps on your passport?" I said, "no"
He: "which border did you came through?"
Me: "Vermont route 89"
He, then entered something into the computer.
He then, asked my husband:
His NAME, DOB, WHERE HE WAS BORN, WHEN WE GOT MARRIED.
To me with the same questions.
Went through our papers, marks everything with a red pen.
He to my husband: "What is your wife mom FIRST NAME?"
LUCKYYYYYYYYYY, i let my husband memorized it. My husband was like, "hmm.....(the answer)"
He: "what is your wifes dad FIRST NAME"?
Now, he look at me and ask
"what is your husband birthday?"
Me: So and so....
he looked at me, i was huh? what? i got the day wrong. ahahaha
So i told him again he said, its too easy to remember because it was on a christmas day. I told him i cant help it i was too nervous.
He: how did you guys met?
I told him at buffet's casino at Foxwood...i went into details that i didnt like him at first because he smells.
The interviewer laughs.
He: How did you guys got together then?
Me: blah blahs....
He: When did you came to canada?
Me: i told him the wrong year ahaha again! he was cool though. he smiles.
Now he asked for my BANK STATEMENT ONLY. But i give him everthings. He said: "I can have all?" yup!
That was it, he typed everything and we APPROVED!!! He stamped my passport and told me how he can tell when people fakes their marriage to get the greencards. He caught them!! and he said my case was easy for him and that "IM CANADIAN ANYWAY" soo no problem right there. And he went on how if the cases was bad the waiting would stinks up and that today was different, the room smells ok. The cases was easy for him since morning. Yup he said that. He didnt ask for my pictures. Led us out the door and ask us, can we smell it? we said yeah and off we go.
I got 1 year stamp on my passport and that i will receive my greencard within a month.
It's weird how some of the people there have to wait to be called again 20mins later to have this green paper which i dont know what it's for. My husband told me that his coworker didnt get any stamp even though his case was approved and that he will received an approved letter in mail within 5months.
Intention or not, as long as the marriage are real, You will get your greencard. He had mentioned it that these kind of cases were the easiest if no criminal records involved. So dont stress out over it. Thank you for everything. GOd BLESS you all.

-
im a visitor from canada too, my interview is on may 2. im getting nervous. congrats!!!!!!
-
They always do that to important documents. As for bills even with the wrong apt. number, it never go missing. thats how crazy these people are.
-
im canadian too and your information about the POE is very useful....CONGRATUALATIONS!!!!!!!!
-
well, i have canada immigration paper. BTW, Im canadian citizen.
Did you see the part where you have to demonstrate the unavailability of your birth certificate? Please read the entire second paragraph of what I quoted, if you have not done so already.
My husband also did not have a birth certificate per se. Our attorney had my mother-in-law write and sign a sworn affidavit saying she was present at husband's birth (no duh, she gave birth to him!) and he was born on X date in X place, and that Sweden does not have birth certificates. Then we enclosed a substitute document from the Swedish government that showed his date of birth.
You may not have any trouble at the interview, or they might be require all the docs named in the law code to check off the "birth certificate" requirement. Now you have the information. How much you want to prepare is entirely up to you.
His mom passed away 3 years ago...."Then we enclosed a substitute document from the Swedish government that showed his date of birth." this is impossible because he was born during khmer rouge. no record was kept. He was lucky that they allowed him to live.
As for me, how did i get my citizenship? My parents applied, after they're approved all of us are approved too. It's nothing complicated like united states.

well, i have canada immigration paper. BTW, Im canadian citizen.
-
well it was impossible because my usc husband was born in cambodia during khmer rouge so there is no record there. As for me, i was born in thailand but my parents didnt keep anything like that with them. It was 24 years ago.
-
For this interview we need a birth certificate but me and my husband dont have any. We do have our citizen certificate, does that help?
-
if all can get those kind of interview, it would be great. well....congratulations!!!!
