  1. Some countries do let you schedule your interview. So the Embassy or Consulate gets the paperwork from NVC and they get everything together and send to you (Pkt 3). Meanwhile you fill out DS-160. Then you send back what they need from Pkt received plus the print out of Ds-160 completion. They will then let you know about interview. You can check the ceac.state.gov website also.

  2. So our experience has been didfferent than most VJ'ers. First of all My fiance got his pkg3 in Oct I had to send him everything so He had to do his Medical. He finally had appt in Nov and went to Doctor had an exam then went back a couple days later and they gave him letter to take to embassy. He took to embassy with his other documents and submitted them. He asked to pay but they said when you have your interview is when you can pay. The Consulate called him back a week later to take a form back to the doctor. In which he did. So I received an email saying his interview was Jan 7 2015. He had his interview today at the Cyprus North Consulate. He to had to wait outside until they called him to come up to the office. He had to do his fingerprints and gave Sworn statement, then the man doing the interview asked him the following:

    How did you meet fiancee?

Has she visited you here in Cyprus?

    When did you get engaged?

Have long did you date before engagment?

    What day did we meet?

    How old is your Fiancee?

The interviewer said I had two addresses on my application and did he know my current address.

He told them I moved over the summmer and he gave the guy my address.

The interviewer asked to collect Visa fee and gave him receipt. My fiance asked if they were not going to take Passport and the interviewer said no they dont process there and they will call him. He said everything went smooth and easy. We are confused is this just the Consulate specific process or is it a denial he didnt get any papers or anything. Our experience has been so different than everybody else here on this website. Does anyone have any input???

  3. So we were approved on Sept 15th and I called NVC today it was busy for about 10 rings then I waited 30 minutes then dialed back. It answered on the first try but was on hold for 34 mins The lady asked me for my notice date because she didn't see file then told me to call back next week because it could take around 20 days for them to receive file. I said ok and I asked her about how long will it stay there. To my surprise she said there's no definite time frame. Since they are the processing center for the Embassy it depends on what you are filing and where it's going. She said some files take a week or a month or could even take a year. I asked her why a year?? She said it depends on the file. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a week!???

  4. WE ARE APPROVED Got NOA2 email & text notification!!!!!!!! I called this morning and the guy gave me the same info that I already knew. He said TSC was working on Feb's cases and mine was within normal timeframe. I asked if there was anything I could do he said just wait just a little bit longer. Sadly I hung up and was a little depressed all day. After doing laundry tonight I receive a text saying our case has been updated. So I rush to log in to find out we have been Approved..I can't believe its finally here. I pray that the rest of the transferee's and folks that have been waiting forever receive theres soon. And If you havent called about your cases in a week or two it definetly would not hurt to call again!

  5. We have been patiently waiting also. Our case was transferred on 8/19. Hopefully we will hear something soon. I have seen people the same day we filed get approved and up to 2 months after get approved. It is a very depressing hard road but I just think about the end result and being with my love until the end of time.
