I am in the Navy married to a Filipina. We got married in the Philippines but I chose the K-1 Visa because in doing research I saw it was quicker. When we got stateside we just had a civil wedding to make it official for the US. I sent off the application in OCT 2013 and she had her visa in hand by JAN 20. Not sure if you can re-file as K-1 but it might be worth looking into. Good luck!

If my wife got her immunizations at the Navy clinic here in the states will that count?

I just went in on Monday to get my wife's ID card made and the DEERS requirements are as follows:

Photo ID (passport or stateside ID)

SSN (The card)

Birth Certificate (Certified copy or original)

Marriage Certificate

They will not accept anything else except for the above. For kids they need:

Passport

SSN (The card)

Birth Certificate
