  1. Hi All,

I have filed the CR-1 Visa petition for my wife, NVC has already assigned a case number and I have already paid the IV fee and submitted the DS-260. However, when I submitted the civil documents (with original documentation) to NVC. They have waited 60 days to review those documents and replied that my wife's birth certificate, our marriage certificate, and the criminal record were not from the correct authorities! There are certain chinese pinyin words that they are looking for I guess........

I have contacted NVC twice regarding to this matter, I was trying to explain it to the NVC representative the first time that those are authentic documents and they said they will have someone to look at it. So, I have waited for a week and there is no response. I called the 2nd time and this time they said that I need to send in a notarized document. But, the original document is on their hands. I will need to request them to send the original documents back to me, get it notarized, and send it back to them. The worst thing is, I will have to get back to the end of the line and wait for another 60 days.....

My frustration is, it seems there is some sort of miscommunications or misunderstood from NVC that I have no clues what they are looking for as a valid document?! I don't want to listen to some random representative, send it a document, and wait for another 60 days to get further notice! Why do they have to make it so difficult for us? Isn't a year and half separation already tough for us??

So, at this point I don't know what options I have for this application process. Does hiring a lawyer helps? What can they do at this late stage? Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

  2. Hi All,

The petition for my wife's case has been approved and been handed over to the NVC. I just received the AOS pay fee notice today! However, since my wife's job requires her to move to Beijing while her permeant address with the USCIS was in Shanghai. My questions are:

    1. Does it makes sense to change the address if her old address have someone to receive the documents for her?

    2. What does the address really used for since everything seems to be electronically process? Does it affect the consulate she gets the interview from? However, all interviews are proceeds in GuangZhou for China, right?

    3. If she does change her address will that be complicating/delaying her visa application?

I have did some research and couldn't really found the answer, so if any of you veterans can please take a look at it will be really appreciated! You guys have been a great help for my wife and me to get thru this painful experience!

    Thanks in advance,

    Daniel

  3. Hi All,

I am new to the forum and I am currently applying I-130 for my wife. I had read some of the posts and some senior member's application timeline and I have two questions wondering if you guys can help me out:

    1. I saw some of you applied for I-485 even before the I-130 got approved. What's the benefit of that?

    2. Isn't it the approval to I-130 application will automatically grant you visa entry to the States (IR-1/CR-1)? or we need I-485 in order to enter to the US?

I tried the search function but yet I am still very confuse lol.

Thanks for you guys' help and Happy New Year!!

    -Dan
