  1. Does anyone know what would be official wait time after AOS interview?

IO on my interview told me up to 30 days.Since nothing happened in 30 days I had an info pass appointment today and this time I was told "Someone lied to you about 30 days timeframe.it's up to 90 days, sometimes even more. Its too soon and you have to wait"

My I-130 was approved the same day but I-485 haven't moved.

    Thank you all.

  2. Here is my rescheduling experience:

I called USCIS # right after I received interview letter for March 19th.I was told they will send request to the local office and I should have response in within 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I made another call since I never got any response and I was told the same thing like on my 1st call.

-After 10 days I received letter saying that my request has been received and local office will follow up with a new date.

-7 days later I received same letter for response on my 1st call.

-On the actual interview date I decided to go to the local office just to make sure they got it all right in their system.Lady at the check in desk for the interviews told me I have to write the letter explaining why I need rescheduling which I did right away.

-6 days later same letter came in saying I'll be informed when a new date becomes available.

-Finally,125 days after my original interview date,a letter with a new interview date came in.Interview scheduled for Sept 19th.

    Good luck to you all.

  3. Hey everyone,

Our AOS priority date is 3/13 and our biometrics fee was accepted on 3/18. Seems like hard copies in NYC take a little longer than other places - we received ours on 3/27.

Based on the timelines here, my biometrics appointment should be scheduled for sometime next week, but we haven't received the notice yet. Don't want to miss the appointment just because we didn't get the hard copy.

Should we call USCIS and ask if a date has been set? Or can I just go to Varick ST with a case number and do a walk-in?

    Everyone's thoughts are appreciated.

    Thanks!

They won't let you do it without hard copy. You should try calling and if the 1st time isn't successful call again. They usually have story that you need to wait 30 days blq blq.

  4. Got an email this morning that my interview has scheduled on May 9. (I sent out my application on Feb. 3rd.)

However, I will be out of town that day so I am thinking about requesting for rescheduling.

I have read other people's posts regarding their horrible stories of case closed, request not processed, or etc.

Has anyone rescheduled their interview recently? I am aware that a lot of it is up to their local officer, unfortunately..

I also found an interesting post about rescheduling interview by email. Has anyone done or heard this before?

My wife was away so I had to reschedule my interview just recently.Below is my rescheduling timeline:

02/12 - received an email- Interview scheduled on 03/19

02/14 - called 800# - I requested rescheduling, they gave me confirmation # and told me I will receive letter by end of February

03/04 - still no letter,so I called again and they made another request and I was told to be prepared to go in by myself on actual date in case I don't receive the letter. No confirmation # this time

03/08 - received letter from local office in regards to second call I made, the letter says there is no available date at the moment and I will be notified when new interview date becomes available

03/19 - actual interview date.I decided to go in to make sure my interview has been rescheduled. The lady at the counter desk where you check in for an interview said I was told wrongly, that I had to come to the local office and write an letter stating that I'm not able to attend the interview. No one even mentioned anything about going in with the letter in any of my previously made calls to the Customer Service. So I wrote an letter and she told me I'll get "something" in the mail.Later that day I finally received response letter on my FIRST call I made on 02/14(little too late)

After that nothing came in yet.

I hope this is helpful to you.

    God luck!

  5. Hey everyone, I've been a member for quite some time and went through everything you guys did back in 2011. I now have my Greencard and everything, but now I'm trying to help a friend out. He got married sometime in the Fall and filed his papers through an attorney in December. As of today, he still haven't heard anything about his biometrics. Since it's through a lawyer, he doesn't get any updates on whether they have received anything or mailed him anything, so the wait is driving him nuts. His situation isn't very complicated either, he is from England and came as a tourist and got married! He is in New York City as well. What do you think he should do at this point?

    Thank you! :)

Did he receive any NOA ?

  6. So, after forgetting my passport at work the day prior to the interview, the train not running the next morning, we mad it to the interview.I read somewhere IO at the Federal Plaza were not pleasant at all, but not mine, We had a good time, interview was too quick (I expected more after all that wait lol), we were in and out quickly in 20 minutes, interview was shorter than 10 minutes. Again, IO was really friendly and I got approved the same day. Now I'm just chillin and feeling great all day as I'm not illegal anymore.

    Good luck to all

    Congrats!!! Enjoy it!

  7. Didn't you re-schedule the interview date? Perhaps they marked the wrong option while updating your case.

I was thinking(hoped) the same.I called the # and I was told that it was system error but they couldn't tell me whether my interview has been rescheduled yet or not.

I will try to go in person next week and if I don't get anything resolved I'll go in on original interview date by myself just to make sure my reschedule request has been received.

  8. At 7am this morning received text/email "we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for March 19, 2014"

Unfortunately, months ago,my wife had booked trip to Brasil March 15-22.So very sadly I will have to request rescheduling.Hopefully the wait for new date won't be too long considering how quickly first one came.

PS.Rescheduling her trip is not an option considering that her friend has set vac dates and it's all non-refundable:(
