So, I'm not really sure how USCIS is processing these thing, but here goes:

    1. When I first sent in the I751, we all got a NOA for a CRI-89, with the "fees waived" message, and the WAC1707xxx receipt number. NO update at all after that.

    2. When the I751 was approved, I got an NOA in the mail with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT receipt number WAC1707yyyy. When i checked that number on the case status, it showed that the number was generated RIGHT BEFORE the I751 was approved. This receipt number was marked as the "I751" number.

    3. This number seems to be the one with the new activity tagged to it.

Not sure why they would issue 2 different WAC numbers for the same petition...

OK I just realized that the Receipt number mentioned (the second, new one) was the ORIGINAL receipt number that was in the first NOA (not the biometrics / ASC receipt number). So all good :)

  3. I did my biometrics today - it was originally scheduled for 1/12/2017, but I decided to do an early walk-in. It was so easy! I didnt have to explain why I wanted to do an early walk-in. They just accepted my biometrics appointment form, requested my greencard AND california drivers licence. I had to fill out a quick form for them to enter the details in. After that I was called for my fingerprints and I was done! Took me less than 30 minutes to get in and out.

Make sure to take at least 2 forms of ID. They said that greencard + drivers licence (California) is the most preferred. Otherwise it would be greencard + passport.

So i'm still out of the country and have no clue when and if USCIS scheduled my biometrics appointment.. I'm assuming I'm scheduled for either the 5th or the 6th and will find out on the 2nd when I return to the US. They usually scheduled biometrics 1 month after the date of the NOA1 so hopefully all good.. I'll update you guys when I get back ..

I think generally USCIS schedules your biometrics about 1 month after your NOA1 date. My NOA1 date was 12/12, so my biometrics was scheduled for 1/12/17

So, based on your NOA1 date I'd think your biometrics would be scheduled for 1/6/2017. When are you coming back to the US?

  5. Received my biometrics today. Its scheduled for 1/12/2017

I have the same case status as Frody did. I have 2 application numbers, one for the I751 and one for something called the "CRI89"

The I751 application number did not return a result from the online USCIS case status check but the CRI89 did have the following message below. Does anyone know what this means?

On December 12, 2016, we received your case and waived the filing fee for your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXX. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by January xx, 2017  please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  6. Hi guys!

Had my AOS interview yesterday in San Francisco. Our appointment was at 7.30, but we arrived at 7. The adjudicator called us at about 7.50 am. The process went pretty smoothly, the adjudicator ran through the documents, asked for my passport and EAD, and my wife's passport, confirmed our residence and if we were living together. Overall pretty straightforward as we had all the documents and has multiple proof of living together (joint bank statements, credit cards, tenancy agreements from 2 places we lived together, etc).

She then asked me a set of standard oath questions (e.g. did i belong to the communist party, etc)

Adjudicator asked petitioner 3 questions: 1) Where did we meet, 2) Did she meet my parents and how many times, and 3) Do we have any prior marriages.

She had some issue with our marriage certificate as it didn't state that it was on file with the registrar of deeds, but I had a certified copy from that same registrar that had a raised seal and statement saying it was filed for record. So pro-tip for anyone: GET CERTIFIED COPIES OF YOUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE. Especially important, and it should be from the recorded of deeds and it should state: "This is a record on file with us" or something to that effect.

I received a text the next morning that said my card was in production.

  7. I asked a similar question a few days ago and people were sharing that they had no problems getting their SSN in the normal timeframe (around 7-10 days). Other people were recommending trying to have the SS# application made at an alternative location, but if the culprit is really SAVE there wasn't much you could do.

I'm very anxious about this too, because I have work lined-up and they won't wait forever. Pleaas keep us updated with your experience!

Well she told me that the local office wouldn't issue the SSN itself, but that the central HQ in Baltimore would be doing the verification and issuance of the SSN. So I think applying at an alternative location wouldn't really help. :(

  8. Hi guys,

I went down to the Social Security office on Tuesday (20th Jan) to apply for my SSN (I received my EAD on the 17th Jan). They told me that SSN will take upto 4 weeks (3 weeks minimum) as my info in the SAVE database hasn't been updated by USCIS. Very frustrating as my employer wants my SSN in order to put me on insurance, etc.

Any insights on this? How long did you guys have to wait to get your SSN?
