Does anyone know how much time it takes to receive the card after approval status is posted.

I received an approval notice and it says it can take up to 60 days and I should not travel during this waiting period.

You should not travel ???? Even w the passport stamp?? This is nuts! What if you already have a family vacation planned. God this process is stressful. 😫

I just spoke to a tier 2 officer, who stated that; the transfer to local office update on my case, was a wrongful update. He believes its a system glitch, since in his system he observed that my case is still in Vermont. He also stated that my case could take a year and whenever my file is moved to a local office I will get related correspondence in the mail.

I’m pretty sure it’s a glitch. First they said feb 26 then they said March 5. 😔 how sad. Can’t wait for all of this to just be done. I hope the year they say it’s going to take us actually not even longer!

Your lender seems to be unaware of the rules. I have few friends who got approved on H1 visa which is not even LPR. I haven't heard any lender speculating future and denying. Is it too late to switch lenders? I can let you know the lenders who don't have this rule so that you can try your mortgage from them.

    Let me

try to see if they accept

the infopass information because I really dread going through this process again and them hitting our credit with inquiries etc. He’s completely legal and will still be that’s what I am

insisting with them. So damn ridiculous. They need to get informed and im

    the one to show them

    the way. Ignorant fools.

LPRs are fine to obtain a mortgage. The most common issue is they usually don't have much of a credit history, so (like anybody without a credit history), they may have some difficulty finding a lender willing to offer a loan.

    Credit is fine .

I applied for mortgage with my wife (who is a USC) and they approved it based on pending AOS. They even accepted my EAD as proof of residency.

So bizarre . We are filing jointly too. They think as soon as his extension letter expires he’s suddenly going to get shipped out.

Not sure where you got this from, but I applied (and got approved for) a mortgage as a permanent resident just fine.

    I am

     being

    told

the underwriter might have an issue because the green card extension letter will

expire and I’m trying to explain that it doesn’t mean the residency expires as it’s still in progress . So im

tying to find proof it doesn’t mean he’s suddenly illegal he just has to get the infopass stampmfor extension until we get a response.

  6. God I just had a total heart attack thinking we forgot our biometrics appointment!!!! We didn't ! We went on oct 5th! I seriously had to look through the calendar to see what the hell we did !!! I'm so sick of this process omg! I think watching the news and seeing how families are being torn apart is getting to me. Ugh. And now it's 2018 and I'm in shock

we are STILL in this process!!!! I just want to cry!  Sorry done venting ! Lol

now on to other things. Can my husband, who's the one lifting conditions , apply with me in a mortgage if he's in this limbo status ?

Yes you wait, and there is no deadline....

There is no requirement in law to get an extension stamp once your initial extension letter expires, before it expires , or indeed, at all.

It is of course sensible to do so - and in many cases will be needed for travel and renewal of drivers licenses etc - but don't panic if you have not done so when it expires, as you can get one at any time.

Nope. 3 year anniversary of becoming a LPR. Eligible to file on that basis if still living in marital union with the same spouse you gained permanent residence from, and you can file 90 days before the  3 year anniversary.

No, but as above, you aren't eligible anyway.

    Yep.

    Well that sucks!

  8. So now after biometrics we wait ? And make sure we don't miss our deadline of expired extension letter ! We need to make the infopass appointment within 30 days if the extension expiring right?

Man this hurry up and wait stuff sucks.

Mis anyone filing for citizenship? Our 3 year wedding anniversary is coming up and I think that's the point you can file for that? Does it null this RoC if we go that route ?
