  1. Yes I'm still waiting like you, I filed in January. But if it takes more than reasonable period of time and USCIS fails to make a decision on your case and also refuses to let you know how long they need. Then you have the right to file for Writ of Mandamus. I mean otherwise what are you supposed to wait for how long until someone decides to do his job and work on the case ?

There is also the option of contacting the ombudsman which should be tried before I think.

  2. Some of them got denied because they a question was missed in the form. Like this one:

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/err/D6%20-%20Fiancees%20and%20Fiances%20of%20U.S.%20Citizen%20(K-1)/Decisions_Issued_in_2014/APR252014_01D6101.pdf

However, it seems that this could be just an internal process that happens when we get RFEs. At least that's what I can get from reading this part:

The AAO reopened the matter on its own motion pursuant to 8 C.P.R. § 103.5(a)(5)(ii) for the purpose of issuing a request
for evidence (RFE) to afford the petitioner an opportunity to complete and submit a new page 3 of
the Form I-129F in its entirety, including a new signature and date.
  3. Hello All,

I filed for i129f in January 23th. Since January 28th, my case status online was "On January 28, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F". It's been like this for more than 7 months.

However, today I checked online and noticed the status is still the same but the date has changed to August 7 which is today.

"On August 7, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F"

Does anyone have idea what does that mean ? Did they open the file but sent RFE ?

    Thanks

  4. Hello All,

My fiance interview is getting close and we're putting together the documentation needed for the interview. The problem is my fiance lived in a Syria for 18 years and then she moved to Turkey after the civil war started there. It's hard to get police certificates from Syria now, she was able to have someone send her police certificates and birth certificates but unfortunately they are not certified by ministry of foreign affairs nor they are translated to english. Will the embassy accept those documents ?

    Thanks
