I must admit im a little confused. I did expect to receive an email of confirmation of my I-130, but that never came.
Instead I got a letter, (it did not say NOA2 on it). It said "notice of receipt of relative immigrant visa" . It said that our I-130 petition has been "properly filed" and "the visa petition you have filed has been approved"
The letter continues to say, "This completes all action by USCIS on the petition. The United States Consulate, which is under the supervision of the department of state, will advise the beneficiary in writing within eight (8) weeks of the date of this approval concerning the next step of the process and issuance of the immigrant visa."

UPDATE:
Ive heard back from London. They said that they transferred my I-130 case to Athens for adjudication as London is experiencing staff shortages.
What I don't understand is why. Because London wrote to me on 27 October 2014 saying "the visa petition you have filed has been approved"... but have now sent it for a second approval???

Thank you for this, I will email them now, and post back here when I eventually hear back..
On the second page of the letter it says, "Your petition ... has been forwarded to the US Consulate at London."

Sorry, we have not had the NOA2..
We had "notice of receipt of relative immigrant visa" on 27 October 2014 that our I-130 petition has been 'properly filed' and payment taken on 22 October 2014.
The letter stated that we are to wait for 8 weeks to be contacted by the United States Consulate....

Hi, I have just read your thread, and it sounds like we are on the same boat and on the same time scale! My wife and I received the same letter from Athens AFTER we received approval of our petition.
We have been together for over 3 years, but have not 'officially' lived together...
Here is my thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/523396-notice-of-additional-processing-requirments/

Hi all,
I filed my petition to LONDON in October 2014, and heard back saying the petition had been approved and to wait for the next packet to arrive within 8 weeks. -fine-
I received a scanned letter via email today (20th Nov 2014) from the ATHENS! Firstly Is this normal that its coming from Athens???
Secondly they are asking for more information regarding our courtship. Any advice on what to submit?
I look forward to any ones response on this...

Hi all,
So this is my first post! I hope to talk to likeminded couples going through this process! So here is our short story:
I hold dual nationality (USA & UK) and have been living in the UK for 13 years now. My Fiancé (we are getting married September 2014 in the UK) is British. Our ideal situation is that we get married, honeymoon, then move to California. I get the inkling that this is easier said than done…
I do not currently have a ‘docile’ in California, although I have a relatives address. I believe I can secure a job in the states in advance of us moving out, even if it requires us to be apart for a few months (not ideal).
I worked in New York for a year in 2009, not sure if this will affect the process, I guess ill have to mention that??? (anyway, minor detail at this stage!)
I would personally feel much more confident if we had some professional advice, either a session or the whole ‘hold your hand’ package, can anyone recommend somewhere in London?
Are there any important details I have missed out? Let me know!
Looking forward to participating in this forum!

i-864 Affidavit of Support - NO TAX RETURNS!
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures

PLEASE HELP!
We have the interview very shortly... i am worried about the I-864 as I have not filed US tax returns... EVER - Ive been living in the UK since the age of 14. I do however have P60's from my employment in the UK. I could also file my 2014 taxes ASAP, but my finances are kind of complicated and this will take time... I have no idea how long, Months...?
I have no issue proving domicile in the USA, and have US Pay stubs from November 2014 from when I moved here recently which shows I have enough money as to not become a public charge etc etc.
I have a relative who can provide his latest tax return and therefore be a joint sponsor...
Is there any way around this? Is my wife going to fail the interview because of this?
Any help PLEASE!!!
thanks,
Matt & Charlotte
