jonpinoy got a reaction from Unidentified in A Heartfelt Thank You
I just wanted to take the time to thank all of you who contribute to this site. Thanks to the helpful guides and comments I have received I was able to get the K1 visa papers in order for my fiancee and everything without a hitch!
My fiancee got into the Seoul embassy and was the first one inside with her interview scheduled at 8am. She was in and out of the embassy by 9am! She got fingerprinted and handed all her papers. The interview went well and was less than 10 minutes! And because of all your help all the papers I supplied her were in order. Even the security guard said to her when she was leaving, "You're going already?!" He was so surprised how quick it was for her. If it weren't for all your help, this wouldn't have been such a hassle-free process.
So thank you for everything! My fiance is slated to get her K1 visa in a few days and she will be coming to live with me soon!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE DOING THE K1 VISA! JUST FOLLOW THE GUIDES AND YOU WILL BE FINE! IF I CAN DO IT YOU ALL CAN DO IT! Save the money from hiring a lawyer and just do it yourself. It's a lot of paperwork, but it will be worth it in the end.
You guys rock! THANK YOU ALL!

If you are a same sex couple or a couple with a fiance(e) who is under the age of 18, you need to get married in a state which the union is legal. Many states will not allow an under-aged fiance(e) to get married without the parents physically present to give consent, and same sex marriages are still state-by-state legal.
If none of these apply to you, it doesn't matter so much, as long as you meet the requirements. Some require a wait period, some require a residency period. Check with the local state and city laws (even cities can have laws regarding marriage) to make sure there are no requirements which you cannot meet.
