Hey everyone,
I'm trying to figure out the timeline for my wife's ead and aos but we don't know which service center(s) has them. How do we find this out?

Hello everyone,
Thanks to the great guides an advice here we had our K-1 visa approved, no RFE's, and my fiance is now my wife. We got married April 2, 2015. So I'm following the flowchart here in the K-1 guide section and it says that after we marry change name with Social Security. We tried. Social Security said they couldn't because her new name is not the name with immigration. They said the "SNAP" system denied it but we could do the paperwork and they would submit by hand for further verification. What should we do? If we wait to change her name with Social Security what name should be put on the AOS paperwork?
Thanks
e
I'm sorry this happened to you, that really doesn't make any sense. You could call uscis and ask them what you should do in this case. You could always do the nontraditional way and change your last name to hers lol

MARRIED!!!!!!!!

Absolutely, once nvc gets it things start moving along a lot quicker. They told us it took 2-4 weeks so we said at least that's faster then 3 months it was at uscis and to our surprise it was sent to the consulate two days later. The embassy actually took longer to process it then nvc did. Exciting days ahead for you.

Thank you so much everyone!
Yay, that is awesome. HAPPY FOR YOU! We have waited for NOA2 for 5 months, and ours just got to the NVC. Gives me hope that now things will move faster

Thank you everyone, and have faith that you will, if the love is true you will. It took her less than 5 minutes, they asked 5 questions and "john" the interviewer told her congratulations that she got it, and another congrats on being the first gay couple in barbados to get one! we didn't know we were until he told us we were.

unfortunately because I have kids in school I will not be able to go to the interview with her, although I wish I could.

She's not really all that nervous for her medical. She's nervous about the interview. You know how ppl freeze and draw blanks when they take tests? Yea that is her and she is afraid that will happen during her interview and be denied. She is taking the medical portion on Monday. Can't wait is finally happening. Thanks for the positive reviews everyone

I finally received word from Barbados Embassy via email that her interview date is set for April 9th at 0730. So excited I can't wait! Now for the medical portion. She is so nervous that she will be denied because she is afraid that she will freeze from anxiety. Any tips for her?

My fiance does live in Barbados and they haven't even sent packet 4 to her yet and they have had packet 3 back for two weeks. I will check it out thank you
My fiance hasn't even been sent packet 4 yet, they have had packet 3 for two weeks and still nothing. thanks i will check it out

The embassy received our packet 3 and still hasn't sent us packet 4 with our interview, what is taking so long? I was under the assumption that once they received packet 3 they set you an appt. and mailed packet 4 immediately after. I know where some couples that have sent theirs in to the same embassy that they received theirs that day.

After tracking all the documents and working on this package for over 3 weeks, I think I’m ALMOST ready to submit it. I have some specific questions: I use a PO BOX for receiving mail should I use this address or my physical address which is an apt that I may be moving away from soon? It’s is just one check for $340 to USDOHS for this part? Also for G325A …how does my fiancé sign it? I guess I could scan it have her print and then scan back. Or did most of you just sign it for her? Same question with her letter of intent. Should I include affidavits from family members that traveled to VN to meet her family? Should I include pictures? Should I include my official college transcripts? I have all my documents of financial support and income (/pay stubs/w2/letter from employer)…but I guess I don’t need to provide this now? I don’t have my birth certificate…will color copies of ALL pages in my passport be enough? My fiancé lives in Hanoi but she still has to go to HCMC…is this correct? Aside from the obvious, I included in my application flight stubs, hotel receipts, credit card statements, WU/moneygram receipts/, notarized timeline. Anything else?
I don’t know why but I’m kind of nervous about sending it. I just hope me and my fiancé can be here in the US by Christmas.
for incoming mail use your PO that you use for yourmail. Yes you only send them one check for 340.00, don't worry more funds will be needed later lol. With the G325a and letters of intent they need to do on their own and sign. My fiance mailed me hers. Affidavits from family won't hurt if you can get them then do it I did, and I also had them get them notarized. Yes include lots of pictures. The W2 and income taxes you do not send now you send that with your affidavit of support I-134. You have to have copies of your birth certificate, no passport alone isn't enough. You can get your birth certificate from the city in which you were born.

Our petition was received by Barbados consulate today 8 days from the time they sent it to nvc eeeeek almost there chugga chugga choo choo lol
-
So our petition was sent to NVC and not Barbados as USCIS had informed me. On the 10th it was mailed and on the 19th NVC received it. Today is the 21st and our status is "in transit" which i can now safely assume that it has now been mailed to Barbados.....

I called them. My noa2 said it was sent to her consulate, my email said it was sent to department of state on the 10th. Since i didn't know exactly where our petition was i called nvc. Got our case number this morning.
medicaid
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

My wife just received her EAD acceptance notice, her AOS is still processing. I was wondering if I would be able to put my children on government assisted medicaid while this was in process? I know that we are supposed to show that we can manage on our own without government assistance and that I can support my spouse. I do all of this. However, my health insurance at work is awful and pricey. I want to keep my wife and myself on my work health care but would like to put my children on medicaid to get the care they deserve for less cost. My son especially needs great and frequent care for the disabilities he has, but I don't want her AOS denied if I apply. Any advice would be helpful.
