I recently called the NVC and they said that I am scheduled for my medical examination (for CR-1 visa).

Could anyone tell me the procedure to obtain an appointment, I mean site where it can be done.

It usually takes 5-8 months to get the process going. Some times even more. This varies from case to case. So be patient.

Regarding your baby, please see what experts have to say about it.

The options on the visa application site has the following type of visitor visa under the category Temp. Business Pleasure visitor (B)

1] Business and Tourism (temporary visitor) B1/B2

2] Business Conference (B1)

3] Tourism and Medical Treatment (B2)

So it is either 1] or 3]

For me its for pleasure and tourism so it has to be option 1] of the list.

Please correct if I am wrong.

Yes, I am a resident of India. My wife stays in the USA. It is about 3 months we have received our NOA1 for the CR1 application. I want to visit my spouse in the US for 2 weeks for a family get-together. I think I have read post on a similar topic and a reply to it stated one can apply but the application may be rejected a the individual is intending to immigrate to the US.
