  1. Don't do taxi! It will be peak hour and cost $80 there abouts, do the train. Will be like $12 for a ticket. And is like 4 stops!

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you Ozgirl!

Re: postage. I didn't take a post bag and they sent it to me overnight with toll express :) I had awesome tracking too.

  2. Maybe that means it will be mailed in that two business days timeframe they gave? Have you tried calling the consulate, I'm not sure if they would tell you anything over the phone though :s

Trying to call them is like trying to leave a corn maze with no exit. Its pointless. I am hopeful that in the next 2 days it will be issued and I can finally fly home.

I am thankful that at least the status has updated from the: ready for interview, to something at least in progress :)

I have my fingers crossed for you that you get the 2 day turn around!

  3. no no no no no lol don't do it! I flew back into Australia for the interview. Expected to be here max 2 weeks... Ive been stuck here 5 weeks now. Whatever you do, no matter how cheap the flights, don't book until you have that visa in hand. AP can actually go as long as 2 months some say. However I am hoping it just means that a worker is checking over our case before they bump it to status: Issued.

  4. uhhh its now in Admin Processing...

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

  5. Hey Guys!

I think my CEAC updated today. The case creation date is now todays date instead of Oct 8, and it now says instead of wait for your interview time:

Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application.

    woohoo! (i think) >.>

  6. Yeah I just paid the fee about an hour ago, it's an immigrant visa and I paid by credit card so it just automatically charged me the correct amount smile.png This process must be getting so expensive for you with doing everything 4x over sad.png

Chest, did your recepit emailed to you from the DOS - did it say online non immigrant visa application DS-160? eg like attached?

  7. Oh dear.. I would be emailing them again very soon with URGENT in the subject and seeing if they reply. Good luck

I did email them concerned and they responded with:

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

We apologize for the delay in the processing of your application.

Your case is being reviewed by the consular officer for their adjudication. If further documents are required, our office will be in contact with you.

Generally, it will take 5 business days to print your visa and prepare your document package after the consular officer has reviewed and adjudicated a case.

The visa package will be posted back in the me

    Thank you

I responded to the above hoping to get a timeline or something to go on and it has been over two weeks and still no response. My US fiance today decided to email them as he is concerned with the status.

  8. Oh dear.. that doesn't sound good. What is your CEAC saying? Are you in AP? Wishing you all the best and hope your visa gets to you very soon

My CEAC is showing the attached status. It has not changed since I got my congratulatory accpetance of my application on Dec 3.

  9. Haha all good mate. Yes it will guide you step by step and at the end it will give you a receipt and PDF etc that you print off and take to the interview.

It will seem kinda daunting at first, but its over quick and they dont ask any super hard questions :) I was done in maybe 5 mins, and the hardest thing they asked was what does his family think of you :P

    chin up and good luck!

  10. Hey Chestnutt,

You will need to create it because before you have your interview you will need to have filled in the online DS-160 and have paid the fee. Try to get it all completed ahead of time because its another one of those long repeat all of your infomation we have already done.

hopefully when you are approved you wont be stuck in visa limbo like me :)
