We had our interview today! It took about 15 minutes and we got a verbal Approval! Will wait for card in the mail
-
went in for interview today, did forgot some of newer support documents, were asked for both original birth certificates, also more of any documents with both our names on the account, But other than that, went pretty smooth, 15 min in n out the interview. only question Officer asked was how/when/where we met, how long we been dating and when got married. and then some of the question from the applications.
We just got our tax refund back in mail and I have a copy of 1040 so that's all I gave to him. He said he's going to approve the application and I should received in 10 days(or a week). Finally I am now Legally Legal resident
...
Congratulations! We finally got our interview date by txt/email notification this week. You were right...it took about 6 months

Congratulations to all who have been getting notices or approvals! Yay!
Well, its been almost a month and a half since our AOS interview and over a month since we sent our RFE over to our IO. No updates or anything from USCIS. My lawyer has not been to proactive with our case and so far no follow up from him. I am not sure why the immigration officer was such a mean one.
I am so disheartened by this whole process which has given me doubts on why I even want to become a LPR here in the US. I love my husband & made this so called great country my home for the last 12 years. Since I have applied for adjustment I can not leave the country to go back to Canada to see my son graduate from high school this coming May 8th. If I leave, this will definitely make it impossible for me to apply again and the possibility of being barred from coming here and I have a young family here. I just hope and pray that an approval will be made soon so I will be able to get this whole experience behind me. Praying all will work out in the end. Just venting guys....thanks for listening.
Hello RNtraveler71, have you heard from the uscis yet? I am sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, they will take their time to answer. Got a friend in a different process and he has been waiting for an answer for 3 months now + he got a lawyer as well and there is nothing the lawyer can do besides waiting
. Hopefully, your case will be different and you'll have news soon.

This morning at 5:30am we got an update by txt and email. Our interview was scheduled for June 12 @ Salt Lake City Office.
-
I called them up and the office where we expect to interview San Bernardino Ca is working on Aug 2013 applications so the lady at USCIS said so that gives us 4-6 more months before interview so it seems but who knows.
You would think if we have the message from USCIS that we are being scheduled for an interview we should receive it shortly. If they are working on August 2013 why would they send a letter that we are in process of being scheduled for an interview.....????
yes, unfortunately the information they give about the timeframe is not reliable. I found this out through a search in cases in my area. I did another research online and found out that the 3 most recent cases in my area took from 187, 201 and 203 days to get through the whole process. Its been 118 days since I applied so i have a lot more waiting. Unfortunately, all we can do is wait at this point :s

We are in the same boat tradewind. Filed in dec 2013, biometrics Jan 10, RFE in JAn and EAD in Feb. Got an online notification in the end of FEB that we were to be scheduled but nada since then. Haha some offices are so slow and our office is superrrrrrrrr slowFiled 485 in Dec 2013, Biometrics Jan 9. No RFE. Ead in Feb. Nothing more....................nada Not a peep.....
-
thank you,, Salt Lake seems to be one of the slower office, would take around 6 month, I stopped checking everyday since Jan, at least I have a job now and having money coming in

Thanks BeMerry...it was such an awful experience...amazing how I have been a contributor/taxpayer to the US since 2001& we made sure we crossed our t's and dotted our i's. My husband served in the Army for this great country and I was made to feel like I did something wrong...yes...we sent off the passports and hoping to put this behind us. I still have family ties in Canada as I have 2 older boys from my previous marriage....the officer was such a b!#@$....excuse my language...her cell phone was on vibrate and was going off while we were in her office..just rude...I entered this country legally and I did not do anything wrong.....we both work for the government helping our veterans...this has left me with such disappointment and sadness...I just pray all will work out.
Hahaha no need to excuse your language. Some officers are just a pain in the butt and take advantage of the only power they have in life. Everything will be okay!

Hello fellow December filers! I received my EAD. March 19th the same day as my AOS interview....I was nervous at first and my husband who is a veteran military was calm as calm can be...I hate interviews as I get anxious. Our lawyer was there and said we looked very confident and said there shouldn't be problem as he has done so many cases and is at the USCIS 5-6 times per week and he had basically dealt with most of the officers and knew most of the staff there.
We arrived 15 mins early as our appointment was at 1pm. They seemed busy and were backed up so we weren't called in until 135pm.
Our lawyer hoped that we got a nice officer and will make the adjustment painless and quick. When we saw her...she did not smile when she greeted us and we all felt the tension. My lawyer looked at me and have me a look that said he did not recognize this one. I panicked inside but remained calm and smiled.
First of all when we got to the room, we were sworn in and it seemed that everything was okay. Then then problems started....she took her trash can and immediately instructed us to throw our gum out...she made us feel like were in elementary school...
we sat down and for the first 20 mins she looked over our application and all we heard were thebflipping of the pages and her checking off her list and clicking on the mouse. She hardly looked at us and we felt as if she did not acknowledge us. Our lawyer looked at me with concern but reassured me with a smile all will be fine.
She then took my passport and asked where all my stamps were as the pages were blank except for the TN Visa that was stapled to it. I did not bring it with me as I had accidentally left it in our office at home.I had a feeling that this was going to get difficult. My lawyer said, its ok..when I told him I did not have it and she scolded him for saying it was ok and she shouted...NO! That is not ok! And thats when her meaness and entrapment began.
I came into the US in 2001 from Canada on a TN visa which I renewed yearly until we decided that 2013 was going to be the last year of us applying for a TN visa and to change my status.
12 years later and 3 US born children and married to a US citizen born and raised in Oklahoma. Our marriage was of course bonafide...she had scene all the pictures and documentation to prove it. Petition for I 130 was approved! Yay!
Tha AOS was a different story. This officer was loud, rude and very scattered with her questions and I got to the point where she confused me and my husband including the lawyer! She focused on the years 2007-2010 when I was a stay at home mother pretty much the years of when our youngest was born. But in those years we went home to Canada on holidays and summer. When you drive across the Canadian border in most cases your passyour passport is not stamped. But since I did not bring the old passport to see them she had requested them for further evidence. So that's where I stand right now...I have to submit before she approve anything. I really don't know why she needed to see them. Our lawyer said in private after the meeting that this was the most intimidating and terrifying interview he had ever attended in all his career as a lawyer. The officer was biligerant, intimidating and indirectly threatening us as she told us that she had just denied a man and can't come to thebUS for 5 years!!
At the end of the interview, I smiled at her and thanked her for her time and I held out my hand to shake hers.
So I wish that I had better news...but no...more waiting again.:-(
Hi! I am sorry you had an unpleasant interview. Sent the evidence she requested ASAP. That should be all she needs to approve. If for some weird reason she deny, then they will state the reason of denial and you can always appeal

CONGRATS BEMERRY!!
Thanks Chrysty84! We are excited....card should be here by wednesday and we're just looking forward to the interview now!
-
YOU WILL GET A TRACKING NUMBER through USPS.. What is a little confusing is that it will say your tracking number is #DCN and that is not it. You will find it when you check on the USCIS page check your case status. There will be the tracking number but not on the email letter they sent you.
Thanks for the info Tradewind. We just got another txt and went to check our case status. The tracking # was there and the estimate delivery is this wednesday according to the USPS website. Woohoooooo....we're excited! I can finally go get my social security #, a driver's license and update my married name into all of my docs (In my state, you have to update your married name at social security first before you update on the other places).
Good Luck to Everyone!!!

Woke up this morning to txt/email notifications that my EAD was mailed. No tracking # info but I don't mind because I know the card is on its way

I just hope the card will be in my hands very soon!
Hopefully you'll have the card in hands by tuesday

Strange thing. The order of my EAD card production date was 12/15. I checked again today and now it says 12/18..
The same happened to me! I actually got new txt from a different number saying that my card went into production on monday + i had got the txt/email on saturday with the same msg!
i assume they're not very accurate with their website but I am just happy that the card is in production anyways

We had the interview yesterday.
The appointment was at 9.30 we got there around 8.45. We went through the security and they took out appointment letter and made us wait in a waiting area. We were then called in around 9.15 by a middle aged male IO. He asked for our IDs and made us take the oath and he stated asking certain basic question like name, address, when did we first meet, my current place of employment, her place of employment, when did we first start dating and some question from I485. He then asked us if we wanted to give him any other additional joint documents, on which my wife stated dumping (literally
) all our documents like refinancing car loans for both our cars, previous car loan together, car insurance papers, health insurance, costco membership, gym membership, joint jeweler’s line of credit, bank accounts, leases for the two places we lived together, this year joint tax return, 401k beneficiary documents, etc. He also asked us for our joint phone bill but unfortunately Verizon doesn't print both our name's on our statements just hers' (she is the primary account holder) and he asked us for some life insurance stuff which my wife had misplaced somewhere in the home so she had ordered a copy which didn't get to us on time. We didn't have only those two thing and we gave him an explanation for why we didn't get those. He then started telling me about that IF and only IF I was granted GC it would be a conditional one and I need to apply for removal of conditions later and he still needed to run some background checks. So now back to the waiting game.
Hi Stanos86! I'm glad you were able to do your interview after all. Waiting sucks but I'm sure you'll be approved.
P.S: I can't believe that after all the docs you brought he still asked for the joint phone bill + life insurance.

I just don't get it. We sent our AOS off in the end of November 2013 and heard absolutely nothing while somebody on here that filed in January 2014 has an interview in march! How long are we supposed to wait before calling?
I just think about a case where the girl got a denial letter out of the blue cuz apparently she never received a RFE that uscis sent to her and therefore she never replied to any RFE, causing uscis to consider her case abandoned while she was patiently waiting on them! But she didn't even know anything about a RFE. No emails, no status update, nothing.. I don't want that to happen to me :/
If it makes you feel better give them a call and see what you can find out!

Thank you Stanos86. Do you know how long until we receive the green card?
