NVC had recently became the world beast!!!! I have been at NVC stage since April 28, 2014. My ds 261 took 50days before they reviewed it. AOS package 60days, IV 60days queue. Remember, after case complete, some embassy like lagos likes to schedule interview a month and half (45 days) in advanced. If you ever get a checklist, then you could be stuck for additional 60days for a checklist.

NVC have decided to destroy people's lives since the day of there 60days craziness...They have choose to control people's lives. Do you know why? Whenever u call NVC, they would pull your file and read you their 30 business days / 60days script. I asked why couldnt they just review the ds 261 just a contact information???? why can't they approve or deny once they pull from the system? why does it have to be hanging in the air and seat down waiting for the calendar to clock 30 biz days? She said its their own rules and they have to follow it.

Why couldn't they make the rules of *Once they start working on your case, they shouldn't leave it idle until they complete it before pulling newly approved once from uscis* Simple as ABC!

Just an I-864W for your child, if they will immediately become a US citizen at PoE when they activate their immigrant visa and become an LPR (for one second, then a US citizen the next).

The NVC was right in that they cannot give legal advice, and given how much they and USCIS get wrong on a near-daily basis, it would be truly terrifying if they could.

I have two separate i130 petition, Wife and a Child. I have already filled one form I864 for my wife.

I know my child would automatically become a U.S.C upon her admission into the U.S

So I called NVC to confirm which of the affidavit of support form to fill for my 1year old child because my child fit in for form i864w, but they said they don't give legal advice... I was so angry....LOL

I only want to make sure so I don't delay my application myself.

If I send them i864 for my child along with i864w, would it be accepted? Or it would freeze my petition?

Or do I just send them the i864w for my child and the i864 for my wife?

Please help!!!! Has anyone ever been in this type of situation?

You have to realize one, you did file wrong and you need to amend that now that hubby is in US and has a SS#.

And some people are getting 221g's from CO's and they are having to amend their taxes now before they get Visa.

You are married you must either file Married Filing Separate (don't need SS#) or Married Filing Jointly (Need SS#) or Head of Household if you qualify.

NO, he did right! So don't confuse him..................... I personally went to IRS before I filed my tax this year, they told me I have to file as single until the arrival of my spouse. They said the only way to file as married to foreign spouse is if the spouse can mail them her certified Int' Passport and they will return it after 90days. If not, No offense of filing Single or Head of household in the U.S.... I didn't stop there, I booked an infopass with USCIS after IRS visit. The Officer assure me there would not be a problem filing single on my tax if married to foreign spouse.

My advise to the Poster, since you said you ve already amended your tax, I will advise to go ahead and include it. But, for future reference, you would not have any issue with being file as single.

Got my case number too on May 23rd from NVC thru a phone call, our timeline on NVC stage is almost the same. Good job @Dwheels76!!!! You are a good Nigeria citizen, always helping out. Wish I can have a real life VJ friend.

Yes you can get police report from any police station in Nigeria. It may take about a week to receive so now is a good time since you got case#.

Does she need the case# for the Police Report? does she have to tell them the purpose of the Police report?

You do not have the option of Abuja. Interviews of your type are never done there. Only Lagos sorry.

Also no you can't do medical now. Not until you actually get interview date and then receive the Interview letter can you go to the medical and take the letter with you. Click on the portal tab at top of page and than Consular information and scrolled through to bottom about medical. there are two places to choose from in Lagos. Its only Lagos you can also do medical.

As far as other documents your spouse can start gathering all the documents you need for IV package now. now is the time to get the police report.

The expedite is highly unlikely because the interview is in Lagos and they can always relocate their where its safer. seeing that the city isn't under siege. But it doesn't hurt to request all they can say s no.

Once you send the packages AOS and IV its about 30 business days to review . So best case you are looking at end of June Case Complete and either a August or September interview.

I just printed my tax transcript now and that will be the only document I have ready except for the pictures of my wedding, naming ceremony and adventures. Other than those, I have nothing else. Any recommendation?

However, my prevous year income is very low to sponsor two relative, but my current year is tripple. Would they just make use of my current pay stub rather than deeping into my past years which would not qualify.

You are so welcome. I think you could probably get through the NVC in 5 months and have your interview date. When it comes on to the interview after your wife gets approved they may put her in Additional Processing (AP) so she might not get her Visa right away. It can take several days to several weeks for her Visa to be printed. Sorry to hear about you daughter, I think you should speak to the NVC once your case gets there and see if they can have your case expedited. All the Best:-)

Please I am somehow confused at this point. I mailed two separate i-130 for spouse and child in March. I got Notice of Acceptance for both and I thought this rest could take up to six month.

I got another Notice of Approval few days ago, and it stated that both original application had been forwarded to Department of State National Visa Center (NVC).

Its shows Priority date is March 24, 2014. This is where I got confused, why does it show March 24, 2014 as Priority date? what does it mean? is it current? Also, how long does it gonna take at NVC?

It also shows 203 (a) 2 (A) INA . Please can someone people enlighten me. Thanks in Advanced
