Works for me!!!
Being a slight computer geek, I would suggest going into your computer and clearing out the cookies, internet history and temporary internet files. Shut down the system then reconnect and visit that site again. You might find that it works for you....

A lot of people seem to be expecting the I-130 NOA1's very quickly...even the ones who know it needs to go to the Service Center then get forwarded, like TSC to CSC. Almost any research on here will show that the average time right now is about 20-30 days to receive your NOA1....I recently was in the same boat.
Don't start stressin' out until your passed this time frame!

Ok, so now I went online to USCIS website and register an account. Do I just add my receipt number as a case to my portfolio? What do I do from here?
Thanks all.
Yes, that is correct...
And as for anyone else in a similiar timeline running through the TSC, these NOA1'a are taking 20-30 days or more because of the transfer and backup in CSC! Also dont figure the day you sent it - it is the day RECEIVED by USCIS - if you sent it 5-day mail then that is 5 more days to your timeline!

Your personal situation is not of importance to me, and I am not going to judge you or give you life advice. However, if you DO decide to go through with this, I would say marriage and a K3. The reason is because, in my opinion, there will be less to "prove and debate" when it comes to the application approval. I have read that visa applications immediately after divorces from other people are frowned on and highly scrutinized. With the K3 you are either married or not, and can prove it, which in turn proves knowledge of eachother and time together - evidence of relationship. A K1 filed immediately after a non-citizen divorced a citizen is going to raise many questions anyway....I think a solid marriage going into the interview would help.
She didnt apply for a visa with him did she? That could be a big factor also...
Do what you want...but it is my $.02

My I-129F was sent back to me today with following notice.
"A signature in the "signature of person preparing this form, if other than above" block is not a valid signature for this purpose".
The last block on new (and old) I-129F asks signature of person if it was someone else beside me. Since I prepared the application myself, I wrote "N/A" is this block. And now my application has been rejected. Please tell me was I suppose to leave it balnk? or what to write??????
Who left blank? have you got NOA1? who wrote "N/A"? have you got any notice?
Please advise ASAP so that i can mail my application back to them tomorrow.
Curious to know if the check got cashed or if you received the NOA1 or they sent it all back????
I did not put anything in the signature block, but did type n/a in the type/print block next to it because the instructions DO say put n/a in all areas that do not apply to you. However, the signature block IS asking for a SIGNATURE....so your WRITING of "n/a" in that block is, more or less, not a valid signature.
I will let you know what happens with mine..if it gets rejected, I wouldnt know for another 10 days or so according to your timeline...

Looking4wife...
My wife is from Barranquilla and I have received/sent many things to and from...so I speak with experience. First I will say that you wont get better servie or prices than DHL. I personally have had problems with USPS and FedEx because both (especially USPS) have been known to or regularly use 3rd party carriers once it gets to Colombia. DHL uses its own company at all times, and has EXCELLENT customer service in Barranquilla. DHL is also cheaper, but the only down side is that you have to visit the actual shipping facility to send something - you can not use an agent for DHL, and if you do you risk the package getting tied up and maybe sent back before it even leaves the country.
As for the round-trip thing, I'm afraid it is not possible. The reason is, for homeland security purposes, you cannot prepay for something to come back into the country if you cannot verify exactly what it is or you were not the one to send it. The international package must be prepared, paid for and verified/signed by the sender at all times. I personally doubt that even FedEx will let you do this internationally on one of their user accounts (I have one but never asked about the round trip thing). The guy above me says yes, but the process looks like a regular pain.
Do what I did and get a low-limit credit card, get a copy of the card in her name, and send it to her. Let her use it for DHL payments and Cajero visits for cash. You will get an awesome exchange rate (currently 2560 pesos for 1 USD) and pay way less when she pays for things like DHL or receiving money from the Cajero.

... I just don't have anymore patience for this BS visa journey. Please advise
No patience after only 20 days?????? Wow man...I understand not having patience per-say, and thinking it takes a long time, but you sound like a defeated person! By all technicalities, you are not even DUE your NOA1 for at least another 10 days!
Give it a little more time and do some research....you will find (like I did) that most everyone is on 25-35 days wait for NOA1's!
And buck-up camper. The journey has only begun!

I called them and got my receipt number from them. They told me that my petition was received on June 20th and that is when they mailed out my receipt notice. When I told them I haven't gotten my notice in the mail they told me that I can't file the 129-F without proof of the reciept notice ( which I have never received) I asked them if they could send me a copy of it and they said probably not and that it would take 30 days if they could. I also asked them if there was a way they could track the mail and they said no. They told me that since I live in an apartment complex that I might not get the immigration stuff because my name isn't on the mail box.
####### am I supposed to do now? Snail mail usually doesn't take 7 days ( or does it) so it seems like I am SOL.
This entire time I have been checking the mail and not even realizing that it won't be coming here.
Not to burst your bubbble, but I <mistakenly> hired a <worthless> attorney for a K1 years ago, and although they acted as my Agent, I still received copies of everything direct from our lovely Government. Maybe others can chime in on this, but I am sticking with you still getting the NOA1 and in a short while I am sure....

Basically, I don't want the K-3 to get canceled!
I hope I have a problem like this!!!! GEEEE....which Visa should we take todayyy????? hahaha

Hey there...we have been back and forth on some posts with the same timeline more or less....
If the operator told you they got it the 20th, surely dont expect it to be mailed out the same time as she/he said. Mine was received 6/2 and not send out until 6/22 - not received until 6/26 - 24 days after verified receipt by TSC. I think the operator might have misspoken.
If you have not had the check cashed, your probably ok not having received the notice yet, or even if so they are not always done at the same time. I would say to give it about 21 days from 6/20....or until 7/10 or so...before you stress out. Expecting the NOA1 days after they receive it just wont happen.

Good Luck!

Congratulations!!!!!!!

Don't worry. The nice people at the service center will notify you if what you submitted isn't adequate. After sending you a notice, they'll graciously hold your petition for you until you provide the missing items.
I"m sorry, but that just made me giggle like a little schoolgirl!

When you arrive in the US...make sure you tell imigration why you are here and what your plans are. They will help you thru the next step.
Very funny DF
Ohh that is just cruel - as the OP is new she may take it literally. Please stace ignore this comment if you do that you will be sent back on a plane to UK and maybe have a ban. If you go to visit him in November - dont mention the word Boyfriend, fiance or anything about wanting to marry him - YOU are just going to visit friends thats all .
Greeeat idea!!!! Lie and hope they dont catch you, especially because she is so well versed in communication skills (maybe not her fault, thinking there might be an age/language barrier?)
My suggestion is for her to CONTINUE searching myspace.com and make sure there isnt someone else she loves way, way more!

Our I-130 took about 3 1/2 months to get approved, but we are not waiting around for the I-129F and moving forward with the CR1 visa process. Just in case the K3 turns into a much longer process (even though the K3's intention was to get families reunited much faster)
We also married in Cartegena!
Good luck to all --- will definitely keep in touch since we are going through Bogota together!!!
Take Care,
j
J....Thanks!
I sent in both just looking for the fastest route, however if K3 finally gets going and approved we will continue CR-1 and return to Bogota for her interview. Hard to say at this point what will happen/change.
Congrats on your marriage also! We have met some good people here with the US/Colombian connection!
Keep in touch!
Good!!!!Maria
Thanks Maria!!!!!

What does this mean??:"Some posts allow US citizens to directly file I-130 petitions and this could speed up the processing of the spouse who could enter the United States as a lawful permanent resident or green card holder."
It is referring to the DCF at a consular post abroad.... Stating that marriage abroad and a DCF at the local consular post will possibly be faster than pursuing a Visa stateside resulting in the same LPR or Green Card.
-
Most people who take advantage of the Tourist Visa and get married together here in the states are usually then separated by the spouse going back to the country for a period of time so as to not raise suspicions as was stated above. Proving that he/she entered without the intent to marry becomes very complicated if you get married on that TV due to marriage planning times, announcements, invitations, items brought in with her to the US, etc... and can be easily exposed in a field interview if they request one.
K1 if done correctly will result in you being apart now for some time, then together forever once the Visa is attained and you marry here and later adjust the status.
K3 as you are stating, if done safely and correctly, will result in you being married THEN apart for some time as the Visa gets finalized.
Either way, to do it safely and correctly, you will spend some time apart. Question is whether you want that time to be apart pre or post marriage. And by all means do not stretch the regulations - if you get caught you put the whole process in danger of denial!
-
Awsomeeeeee !!!!! n Congrats to both of ya !!
Thanks Brownhorse!

Either you entered in the number wrong, the wrong number, or it is having a system error now. Make sure you use the correct #, and try again in a day.
