Yay! CONGRATS! Our interview is on the 10th!!!
-
I am happy to see posts from others applying for a K-1 for fiance's in Haiti.
First of all, I have no idea about getting copies of the medical exam, however, the doctor that my fiance saw would not vaccinate him stating that he received notification from the embassy stating that vaccinations are no longer required for k-1 visas (as you probably can imagine this is making me very anxious because everywhere I have read has said that vaccinations are required and I don't want them to deny him because of this), I tried to call CIVA to clarify but they couldn't answer my question.
As far as packet #4 goes, my fiance was given a date 15 days after he dropped off packet #3 to pick-up packet #4 at Haiti Messenger so they don't actually mail it, your fiance will pick it up.
Our interview is coming up, it's on March 10th, please keep us in your prayers! Good luck to my fellow Haiti vjers!

Hello,
My fiance's interview for his k-1 visa is scheduled for Monday March 10th at 7am. I am flying to Haiti on the 9th so I can attend the interview with him. Can you all please give me advice on what paperwork we should bring with us or share any tips that you may have?
Our case is pretty cut and dry. We don't have children, neither of us have ever been married before and neither of us have a criminal record. I make enough money so that shouldn't be an issue. Do you have to be able to show that you have a certain amount of money in your bank accounts?
He had his medical exam, they didn't given him vaccinations even though he requested them because they said those were not needed until we file his AOS.
I have phone bills
calling cards
bank statements for the past 3 months
letters from my bank
a letter from my employer
proof of my life insurance policy and 403b
We already provided them with my 2012 taxes and I'm bringing my 2013 taxes with me
his police report
Do we need anything else. I would rather be over prepared than not prepared, but any advice you could give us would help.

Thank you all for your replies. Turns out that my fiance saw the doctor yesterday and requested vaccinations but the doctor refused to give them to him stating that he received a letter from the embassy saying that they are no longer needed and that he can get them in the U.S. I would've loved to save money and just had them done there but it wasn't an option.
I'm thankful that you all were able to verify that they are not needed because I was extremely nervous about them giving him mis-information and scared that it would effect whether or not we would be approved.
We will be sending packet #3 back on Friday with all of our information. Does anyone know whether or not you can purchase boxes at Haiti messenger to send the paperwork in? We have a lot of paperwork we are sending and it's not going to fit in a large envelope and my fiance is nervous about what he is going to use to send it in. I have no clue because I'm used to the United States Post Office and things are much different here.
Hoping that our interview will be done sooner rather than later because our wedding date is set for May 17th though we will move the date if we don't have the visa by the middle of April.
mtcmk1: did you send all of the paperwork on the coversheet you sent me in packet 3?

Our packet 3 did not say anything about a police record, the only things listed in the packet that we had to return were his medical exam and the bank fee, there was no additional list of items needing to be returned. He does not have a criminal record of any kind.
Thanks for the heads up about the vaccinations. The nurse said that he could talk to the doctor on Tuesday when he goes back to get his results and if the doctor agrees to vaccinate him, he will. Otherwise, I told my fiance that I want something in writing from the doctor stating that he does not need vaccinations (I guess that is my type A personality coming out)! I also told my fiance that if the doctor was not going to give him his vaccinations to go to one of the other embassy doctors. I can't remember the name of the doctor he is seeing, but I do recall that it is in Petion Ville. Corey, I will send him to the doctor you guys used if this one doesn't work out.
My fiance is nervous to return packet 3 without the police record for fear that it will hold the process up, but I would rather return the packet sooner than later.
Thank you everyone, you are all so helpful!

Hello,
Does the police record need to be returned with packet #3 or can it be brought to the interview? My fiance requested his police record but was told that it would take 10 days and we will have the medical results back on Tuesday so we would love to submit the packet back without the police record if possible so we don't have to wait an additional week.
One other question, when my fiance went to his medical appointment they told him that he does not need any vaccinations for the k-1 visa and that he could get them all in the U.S. once he applies for an adjustment of status, is that right? He doesn't have his immunization record so I was surprised to hear that.
Any advice you could give would be helpful. Thank you!

SO...neither my fiance or I have received packet #3 yet and it has been 6 weeks. I've e-mailed the consulate and haven't gotten a response. I called them today and requested that they e-mail it to me, however, they said they are unable to do that so they scheduled him an appointment to go and pick up on January 24th and apparently he can't pick it up before then. Any suggestions? Advice? Please help!!!

Thank you, I will do that! To date, we have still not received packet #3. I called the consulate and all the man said to me is that it would be here "very very soon" and that was two weeks ago. I called the DOS and they said it was sent on December 9th. Do they send the packet to both my fiance and I? I'm nervous because his address is not recognizable by the mail system but I've been looking all over the place to figure out how we change his address so that he can receive his packet at his auntie's house, any thoughts? I will e-mail the embassy and request packet #3.

Bless your heart, Corey!!! I have been so stressed/anxious over this!!!! I am so appreciative of this information!!!! Thank you!!! I will be praying about packet 4 and the rest of your process. Blessings to you and your fiance!
So I should go online and cancel our appointment, right?

Thank you! I'm having a difficult time navigating through the site and finding my original post which is why I posted again, can you please point me in the right direction so I can read Corey's response?

Hello,
I'm new here. We received our letter from the NVC on November 27th that said that they had forwarded our request on to the consulate in Haiti. On the form it said to have my fiance go online and complete the DS-160 which he did on Monday December 9th. When we received the confirmation e-mail it had suggested that we go online to schedule a visa appointment, which we did and it is scheduled for April 2nd. It asked for a receipt # when scheduling the appointment and I put the wrong number. After submitting it I was reading that the receipt # that they are looking for is the # on the receipt from the bank where you paid the processing fee. We have not paid any fee except for the original $340 fee that was sent in with our I-129F. Are we required to pay additional fees before we schedule our appointment? If so, how much do we need to pay? If not, where do I get the receipt #? is it the same receipt # that is on all of our notices? How do we change the receipt # on the appt we have scheduled? Will we have to cancel the appointment and re-schedule it with the correct receipt #? Someone please help!!!!

I have a question for you guys as my fiance is also from Haiti. We are awaiting packet #3. He completed the DS-160 online and we signed up for an interview online. We were supposed to do that or were we supposed to wait for an interview to be assigned to us from the embassy?

Good Morning,
I am new to this site and had a couple of questions I was hoping to get help with. My fiance is from Haiti and so far our process seems to be going well, Praise the Lord.
We sent our packet in, received our first notice saying it was received, then our second notice stating that it was approved and last week I received a notice from the National Visa Center stating that our packet had been forwarded on to the consulate in Port-au-Prince. My fiance went online and completed his DS-160 and submitted it. We then went online and scheduled him an appointment.
Question #1: His interview is scheduled for April 2nd, but our notice of approval expires on Feb 25th, is that going to be a problem?
Question #2: I have already paid the $340 fee for the fiance visa application, is there another fee that is supposed to be paid before his appointment? When I went online to schedule his appointment it asked for a receipt # and I wasn't sure what they were asking for so I just put the barcode # from the confirmation page, but I was reading somewhere after I submitted the appointment that it is supposed to be an actual receipt # that they get from the bank after submitting payment. How do I correct this? Where do I find the receipt #? and is there an additional fee we have to pay at the bank before his interview? Will this hold up our interview process?
Question #3: When should he be receiving his packet from the embassy?

I have a few questions. My fiance submitted the DS-160 online on December 9th. I went on and scheduled an interview for him today and the next available interview slot they have his April 2nd but our NOA expires on February 25th, is that going to be a problem? Also, is there an additional fee to pay aside from the $340 fee that I sent in when I submitted the I-129F petition?

Hey Vjers,
I'm so excited to report that our fiance visa was approved!!! Our appointment was on Monday and it went so well. The Consular Officer was an angel. She literally asked my fiance about our story then told him to call me up to the window and then asked about our wedding plans and said, "Congratulations, you've been approved." We thanked her and she said "you two are the perfect canidates for this. We couldn't have done it without all of your help. Thank you everyone for your love, prayers, support, encouragement and help along the way!! We appreciate you!!!!!
We pick up his passport on the 19th and head to the U.S. together on the 21st. Our wedding is 9 weeks from today!!! To God be all the glory!!!
