  1. Hello everyone,

So, it's that time that we start collecting the proof and all that jazz for my application to be sent in March since my GC expires on 6/6/08. That being said here is the unique situation. We are currently in New Haven Connecticut. My wife is a Medical Fellow at Yale. We we have accepted a job in Raliegh Durham, NC so we will be moving to Raliegh Durham at the end of june. So, how do I apply for this or go about this i.e. file under my New Haven address and then file for a change of address( which I anticipate will only delay my approval ) or hire an Lawyer in DC( where we are originally from ) and use the lawyers address.

Also one more thing how useful is having people that know us such as my best men etc. write notarized letters of them knowing us etc.

    Thank for all your input.

  2. Ok, time has come for me to get the removal of consitions process going. So, here are a few questions:

    1. Anything to watch out for.

    2. Assuming all is well in the marraige( which it is ) how long should the new green card take.

    3. Do we go through interviews or it could happen no interview.

Now here comes the really hard part:

My Wife is done with her fellowship at the University so we are in the process of looking for a job. I obviosuly cannot wait to file but 100% chance we will not be in Connecticut in 3 months. So, should I file in Hartford and get the file transfered to the new office.

In the mean time I will need to switch jobs as well. Does the USCIS give you a stamp of something so that I can continue to work and travel.

Thanks all for the answers in advance.

  3. The welcome to America letter. The interview was last week on the 22nd in Hartford. I guess one of the reasons why I am rather anxious to get either is because the stamp has left a less then satisfying feeling. After all that interview prep and loss of sleep the stamp just does not do it.

Seriosuly, I think the least the USCIS could do is make the stamp more imposing. Such as American eagle etc...

  4. of course I forgot to mention that...We do have the Birth certificates and her original citizenship certificates.

The only thing I worry about is that we do not have that intimate level of financial consolidation yet. The utilities were under her name, I just kinda moved in.

I mean if this is their make or break I can have freinds in-laws line out the door to testify for our marriage.

She has not taken my last name yet...She says she wants to wait till after the first child is born.

So, should we try to emphasize her being a doctor at Yale to kinda get additional credibility, that doctors usually dont go into "fake marriages".

  5. Like many others we think we have prepared to the best of our abilities. She is the citzen. So this is what we have and we have already sent this in with the application

    1. Her 3 years tax returns. Original and photocopied.

    2. Her paystubs.

    3. Her employment contract from Yale University stating that she is a Gasterointerologist doctor fellow and her salary.

    4. My taxes.

    5. Bank statements and Xmas cards and junk mail etc.

    6. Photo album and photos.

And of course a paper bag for my to breath into or vomit into. I have already told her that I am going to need a Ambien or lots of Martinis to go to sleep tonight.

That being said am I missing anything.
